Abstract

Being an entrepreneur is an attempt of activating Indonesian economic wheel. In the attempt of empowering creativity and innovation, the entrepreneurs are expected to grow into employers who can open job opportunities in various business sectors. This community service activity is entitled a digital-based entrepreneurship training to realize millennial generation with young entrepreneur spirit. This title was chosen based on the factual condition of people today characterized with the increased unemployment rate disproportional to the job opportunity availability. The problems encountered by participants are limited information and experience supporting the digital-based entrepreneurial activities, and limited knowledge on the detail of digital-based entrepreneurship, leading to the limited number of alumni and graduates choosing to be entrepreneurs. This activity aims to improve skill and to create digital-based young entrepreneurs to the participants in the partner location. The basic output with target to be achieved is the created independent business community having digital-based entrepreneurial skill. This community service was implemented in the form of entrepreneurship training and facilitation. The partner in this activity includes the students of Faculty of Business Economy of Universitas Tunas Pembangunan. Twenty participants participated in this activity. Evaluation was conducted using questionnaire distributed to the participants aiming to find out the students understanding on the implementation of training and interview. The result achieved in the end of community service activity is the improved understanding and skill of participants concerning digital-based entrepreneurship that can be indicated with the number of startups established by the participants.

Abstract

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) play a crucial role in a country's economy. In the era of globalization and digitalization, SMEs need to innovate to remain competitive. This is because SMEs often face various challenges that hinder their business growth and sustainability. This research aims to explore business innovation strategies that can be applied by SMEs and how community empowerment can support the increase of income and quality of life. This research is a literature review with a qualitative approach and descriptive analysis. Descriptive analysis is used to describe and summarize findings from articles collected from Google Scholar for the period 2001-2024. The results of the study indicate that in the constantly changing economic dynamics, business innovation is key to the sustainability and advancement of SMEs. Although SMEs play a vital role in the economy, they often face challenges such as limited resources, access to capital, and lack of awareness of the importance of innovation in facing increasingly fierce global competition. To address these challenges, community empowerment and business innovation development become essential strategies. Therefore, recommendations from this study include enhancing community empowerment through training, education, and access to resources to create an environment that supports SME growth and leveraging ICT to improve operational efficiency and expand SME market reach.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi yang maju akan menjadikan IKM Batik tertinggal dalam hal daya saing pasar dan inovasi, apabila masih banyak pelaku yang belum memahami akan pentingnya akses pasar melalui digital marketing. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah meningkatkan peluang akses pasar bagi pelaku IKM batik di Kota Surakarta melalui pemetaan hasil produksi IKM batik. Metode yang digunakan meliputi sosialisasi, penyuluhan dan pelatihan. Teknik dalam kegiatan ini berupa mapping pelaku IKM batik, pelatihan dan pembinaan IKM Batik. Hasil analisis yang didapatkan, Kota Surakarta memiliki dua sentra batik yaitu Sentra Kampung Batik Kauman dan Sentra Kampung Batik Laweyan. Kedua sentra tersebut memiliki potensi tinggi terhadap produknya karena memiliki ciri khas tersendiri mulai dari motif, bahan, sejarah sampai pada penggunaan bahan pewarna alam. Akan tetapi, masih banyak pelaku IKM Batik yang kurang pemahamannya akan pentingnya akses pasar, dilakukannya pelatihan dan pendampingan: pelatihan digital marketing; pelatihan legalitas Perusahaan (IKM); pelatihan IKM untuk akses pasar; pelatihan/sosialisasi akses pembiayaan; dan pelatihan pengunaan batik pewarna alam bagi pelaku IKM di Kota Surakarta.
