Abstract

Dermatosis vesiculobullosa is a public health issue that frequently affects Indonesian society and even the world. Current treatment often involves topical application of a cream to the infected area, utilizing chemical substances and traditional medicine. One of the plants that has antibacterial properties is basil. This study determined the excellence of hexane fraction cream made from basil leaves to kill Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli bacteria. This experimental study used the maceration method with 96% ethanol is used for extraction, while the liquid-liquid extraction method for fractionation. The well diffusion method examined the antibacterial activity. The concentration of the n-hexane fractions is 15%, 30%, and 45%. The physical characteristic tests of the cream include organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, spreadability, adhesion, and viscosity. The researcher conducted a one-way Anova statistical analysis using the post hoc Duncan test. Basil leaf cream with n-hexane fractions at 15%, 30%, and 45% concentrations has an antibacterial activity of 20.09 mm (very strong), 21.47 mm (very strong), and 22.43 mm (very strong) against Staphylococcus aureus. It has an antibacterial activity of 20.10 mm (very strong), 22.83 mm (very strong), and 23.76 mm. The cream formulations with 30% and 45% n-hexane fraction effective at stopping the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, with a significance value of 0.000 (p<0.05).

Abstract

Tamarind and Sereh wangi (Citronellae winterianus Jowitt) are widely planted in Indonesia. Citronella oil is widely used as an anti-bacterial because of its secondary metabolite content. This study aims to determine the anti-bacterial potential of hard candy with active ingredients of tamarind extract and citronella oil. Tamarind fruit extract was prepared by maceration method using 96% ethanol solvent. Hard candy is made in 3 formulas with tamarind extract and citronella oil 0,1% (F1), citronella oil 0,2% (F2), and citronella oil 0,2% (F3). Antibacterial activity of hard candy examined using the disc diffusion method by measuring the diameter of the inhibition zone for the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli bacteria. The result of the diameter of the inhibition zones F1, F2, and F3 for Escherichia coli were 4.25, 4.38, and 5.35 mm, respectively. The the diameter of the inhibition zones F1, F2, and F3 for Staphylococcus aureus were 2.30, 2.67 and 2.90 mm, respectively . It was showed that hard candy with active ingredients of tamarind extract and citronella oil was able to inhibit the growth of bacteria. The difference in the diameter of the inhibition zone between the formulas was analyzed using One Way Anova. The significance value is <0.05, so there is a significant difference in anti-bacterial activity between formulas. The concentration of citronella oil influence on antibacterial activity where the greater the concentration of citronella oil, the antibacterial activity to Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli will increase. Abstract

One of the plants known as herbal medicine in Central Java is Brambutan or Rambusa. This research conducted on experimental animal using ethanol extract of rambusa leaf (Passiflora foetida L.) which has an anti-inflammation effect on reducing edema. The carrageenan used-induced feet edema was 1 % and animal subjects were grouped into 5 categories for different treatments, namely the administration of 1 % colloidal Na-CMC solution, diclofenac sodium solution, ethanol extract with various doses of 250 mg/kg body weight, 500 mg/kg body weight, and 750 mg/kg body weight given orally. By the time after 1 hour, the edema volume on mice feet measured until 6 hours. The data showed that the 1 % Na-CMC colloidal solution given did not affect the percentage of edema reduction (0 %), the subject group was given 250 mg/kg body weight and 500 mg/kg body weight showed a decrease level of edema (0.01 %), the group was given 750 mg/kg body weight decreased edema (0.02 %), and diclofenac sodium solution group showed decrease level of edema (0.04 %). In this study, it can be concluded that the ethanol extract of rambusa leaf (Passiflora foetida L.) has the highest anti-inflammation and anti-inflammation effect at a dose variation of 750 mg/kg body weight with a 0.02 % reduction in edema

Abstract

Trembesi (Samanea saman) is a fast-growing plant from Central America and Northern South America. the Trembesi Tree is an easily recognize tree because it has an umbrella-shaped canopy with a canopy diameter greater than its height, the trembesi fruit is blackish-brown when ripe, with seeds embedded in the flesh of the fruit. This study aims to determine the class of compounds contained in the ethanol extract of trembesi fruit seeds extraction by maceration method using 70% ethanol solvent. The analysis uses univariates that present data with calculation results. The extract results were obtained by weight of 91% with an amendment value of 18.20%. The phytochemical screening were carried out with color tests and emphasized by the TLC test. The trembesi fruit seed ethanol extract containing alkaloid, flavonoids, saponins, and tannins compounds.

Abstract

Yodium plant (Jatropha multifida L) has pharmacology effect as antibacterial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory. Yodium plant contain chemical compounds, namely alkaloids, flavonoids, phenols, and tannins which have benefits in helping the healing process of cuts. The aim of this study was to determine the difference in wound healing time in rats (Rattus norvegicus strain wistar) using Yodium leaf extract cream with concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15%. This research is a true experiment. The cuts healing were carry out on Wistar male rats that smeared by yodium leaf extract cream and be observed its healing process. The cream preparations were tested for physical quality including organoleptic test, homogeneity, pH test, spreadability test, adhesion test, and viscosity test. The results of the organoleptic test of the three formulas have a green color, distinctive aroma, and semi-solid consistency. Test the homogeneity of the three homogeneous preparations. The pH test of the three cream preparations met the pH test requirements of 4-8. Spreadability test, the three cream preparations met the requirements of 4-7 cm. In the adhesion test, the three preparations met the requirements of 2-300 seconds. The cream was applied to the backs of 0.1-gram rats with use three times a day. Coral plant (Jatropha multifida L) has healing effectiveness againts cuts in white rats (Rattus novergicus strain wistar). The cream preparation with 15% concentration of yodium leaves extract concentration was more effective in the wound healing process for 9 days. Abstract

Introduction: Polyalthia longifolia, commonly known as Glodokan tiang, is a plant typically found along roadsides, serving as shade and an ornamental feature in gardens. In addition to its aesthetic function, the leaves of this plant have been found to contain compounds with effective antibacterial activity. Natural ingredients with antibacterial properties, such as Polyalthia longifolia leaf extract, can be an alternative acne treatment due to their lower side effects than chemical drugs. Research Objective: This study aims to test the antibacterial activity of Polyalthia longifolia leaf extract in inhibiting the growth of Staphylococcus epidermidis and Cutibacterium acnes, which are significant causes of acne. Research Method: Polyalthia longifolia leaves were extracted using a maceration method with 70% ethanol as the solvent. The resulting extract was then tested for antibacterial activity using the disc diffusion method at 30%, 35%, 40%, 45%, and 50%. The bacteria used in the tests were Staphylococcus epidermidis and Cutibacterium acnes. Clindamycin was used as a positive control, and sterile water was used as a negative control. The data obtained from the tests were analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis and post-hoc Games-Howell tests. Results: The study showed that Polyalthia longifolia leaf extract at various concentrations (30%, 35%, 40%, 45%, 50%) exhibited significant antibacterial activity against both bacteria tested. At a concentration of 50%, the extract demonstrated the most potent inhibitory effect on Cutibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis, with inhibition zones reaching 15.82 mm and 15.74 mm, respectively. Conclusion: Polyalthia longifolia leaf extract shows significant antibacterial potential against Staphylococcus epidermidis and Cutibacterium acnes. The 50% extract concentration exhibited the most potent inhibitory effect, making it a promising candidate for natural acne treatment with minimal side effects.

Abstract

Introduction : Indonesia is country that passed by the equator causing sunlight intensity increase that causes skin problems. Sunscreen is a cosmetic which used to protect skin from sun exposure. Kawista stem bark (Limonia acidissima Groff) has a flavonoid dan phenolic as UV protector. This study analyzed SPF values of ethanol extract, n-hexane fraction, etil acetate fraction, water fraction and sunscreen cream. Method : Spesific and non spesific standardization of ethanolic extract. Extraction using maceration method with 96% ethanol. The suncreen cream were made in 2% (F1), 4% (F2) and 6% (F3) concentration. Physical characteristics has tested include organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, dispersibility and adhesion and viscosity. Oneway ANOVA and kruskall wallis test statistic analysis. Oneway ANOVA and kruskall wallis test statistic analysis. Result : SPF values on F1 is 3,63 (minimal protection); F2 is 7,53 (Extra protection) and F3 is 15, 43 (Ultra protection). Conclusion : All three cream formula has a different significant SPF values (p < 0,05). The suncreen cream fulfilled the requirements of physical characteristics.

Abstract

Health efforts in the form of promotive, preventive, curative, rehabilitative, and/or palliative measures can be carried out by the government and community self-help groups. Children and adolescents are important assets for shaping a healthy future generation. This service aims to improve the health quality of children and adolescents through promotive, preventive, and curative activities in collaboration with professional organizations in Purwodadi, Grobogan Regency. The methods used were designed as part of the celebration of National Children's Day at Purwodadi City's Green Park on July 27, 2025. The activities included promotive services such as health education on clean and healthy living, balanced nutrition education, and oral health education. Preventive services included free health check-ups, vaccination administration, and health screenings. Meanwhile, curative services include free treatment and vitamin distribution, which provide tangible benefits for children and adolescents in the Purwodadi area. This synergy expands the scope of services and improves the quality of health interventions provided. With 327 participants, this activity successfully increased public knowledge, awareness, and concern about the importance of maintaining health from an early age. The success of this activity is expected to serve as the basis for similar programs in the future, with a focus on sustainability, expansion of the target area, and increased service coverage. This activity is not merely a celebration of National Children's Day but also a collective commitment to building a healthy, intelligent, and competitive younger generation.

Abstract

Indtoduction : Free radicals that come from sunlight can cause cell damage and death because they are carcinogenic. SPF is the effectiveness of a sunscreen in protecting the skin from the sun. Kawista stem bark (Limonia acidissima Groff) has potential as a sunscreen. Purpose: to analyze the SPF value of ethanol extract, n-hexane fraction, ethyl acetate fraction and water fraction. Method : Extraction by maceration method with 96% ethanol and fractionation by liquid-liquid extraction method. Phytochemical screening. SPF analysis by spectrophotometric method with the Mansur equation. One-way ANOVA statistical analysis. Results: The SPF values ​​of ethanol extract, ethyl acetate fraction, water fraction and n-hexane fraction respectively along with sunscreen protection categories were SPF 12.77 (maximum protection), SPF 11.77 (maximum protection), SPF 11.67 ( maximum protection) and SPF 7.146 (extra protection). Conclusion: The highest SPF value was found in ethanol extract as a semi-polar solvent. The lowest SPF value was obtained in the n-hexane fraction as a non-polar solvent.

Abstract

The relatively high use of antibiotics poses a threat to the emergence and spread of antibiotic resistance, there are now several findings that antibiotics have been used freely by the public. These antibiotics are purchased to treat symptoms of flu, fever, cough, sore throat, headache and other minor pain symptoms with a duration of use of less than five days. The level of education and knowledge of the community is one of the causes of this. The DAGUSIBU program (get, use, store and dispose) is the most important thing because knowledge is one way to be able to use medicine, store, get, and dispose properly. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of knowledge with the implementation of the DAGUSIBU program for antibiotic drugs in the community in Jepara Regency from January to March 2020. This type of research is associative research with observational methods. Data were taken prospectively with a quantitative approach from an action research questionnaire. The sample used amounted to 500 respondents. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. Data were processed with chi square and Wilcoxon statistical tests using the SPSS program. The results showed that after the treatment of counseling with video and exposure to speakers and the provision of brochures on the dangers of antibiotic resistance, there was an influence on the level of knowledge with the implementation of the antibiotic drug DAGUSIBU program in Jepara Regency. as evidenced by the p value of 0.00
