Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using electronic attendance at SMKN 1 Sidrap. This research is a descriptive qualitative research, the data source utilizes primary data and data collection through interviews with informants. The results of the interviews were analyzed using the observing and note-taking methods. The results of the study on the Effectiveness of Using E-Absence are measured through indicators measuring program effectiveness including effort, cost efficiency, results, cost effectiveness and impact. Based on program effectiveness, the effectiveness of the E - Attendance application at SMKN 1 Sidrap includes school management efforts in procuring E - Absence, there is cost efficiency in running the E - Absence program, the expected results are achieving the target of increasing the discipline of Students and Educators in the learning process, the resulting cost-effectiveness has a positive impact on budget management, and a long-term impact on the procurement of E - Absenteeism to increase the effectiveness of learning and use of the school budget. Abstract

Purpose – This study aimed to develop and validate a web-based thesis title submission information system for Merchant Marine Polytechnic of Makassar and to examine cadets' user acceptance of the system. Design/methods/approach – This research employed a research and development design using the ADDIE through observation, documentation, expert-validation questionnaires, user-acceptance questionnaires, and supporting interviews. Data were analyzed descriptively using mean scores, percentages, and an aggregate Aiken-type validity index because only aspect-level validation data were available. Findings – Expert validation showed very high feasibility: information system introduction (M = 4.63; AVI = 0.91), user control (M = 4.83; AVI = 0.96), system interface (M = 4.50; AVI = 0.88), and final system performance (M = 4.50; AVI = 0.88). The small-group trial obtained M = 4.36 (87.27%), indicating a very practical system. The field trial showed positive user acceptance in ease of use (M = 4.22; 84.40%) and interface quality (M = 4.16; 83.20%). Research implications/limitations – The system can potentially support more efficient and better documented thesis title submission services. However, the evaluation was limited to one maritime polytechnic, did not include objective operational comparison with the manual workflow, and could not report reliability or dispersion statistics because item-level data were unavailable. Originality/value – This study contributes a documented ADDIE-based development and validation process for a multi-role academic administration system in a maritime higher education context, covering cadet submission, supervisor review, program-head validation, status tracking, and controlled institutional piloting readiness.

Abstract

This Community Service conducted training in creating e-modules using the professional flip PDF application which was held for lecturers in the Department of Family Welfare Education, Faculty of Engineering, Makassar State University. This training aims to improve lecturers' abilities in developing and using interactive learning media based on information technology. The methods used in this training are presentations, discussions and practice in creating e-modules. Training and mentoring carried out directly by the service team is carried out with a time division of 20% for theory and 80% for practice in creating e-modules. The results of this training showed a significant increase after giving a pretest before the training started and a posttest after the training ended. And this training activity can increase participants' insight and abilities in creating e-modules using the professional flip PDF application and participants will gain satisfaction regarding the training provided by the service team.
