Abstract

This study investigates the impact of the RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, and Create) learning model on scientific literacy skills and environmental care character among 4th-grade elementary students in Indonesia. Using a quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control group, the research focused on energy source materials. The experimental group received RADEC instruction, while the control group used Problem-Based Learning. Results showed significant improvements in scientific literacy across all indicators (explaining phenomena scientifically, evaluating and designing scientific investigations, and interpreting data and scientific evidence) for the RADEC group. Similarly, students' environmental care character enhanced in various aspects, including school and classroom environment management, waste and energy management, and planning clean environment programs. The RADEC model's structured approach, emphasizing independent exploration and critical thinking, proved more effective than traditional methods in fostering scientific literacy and environmental awareness. The study concludes that RADEC offers a promising framework for enhancing science education and environmental consciousness in elementary schools, with implications for curriculum development and teaching practices in the context of 21st-century skills and digital literacy.

Abstract

Inclusive education plays an important role in providing equal learning opportunities for all children, regardless of their abilities. This research addresses the issue of low public trust in inclusive education, which has the potential to hinder policy implementation and practice. The aim of this research is to develop strategies to strengthen community trust and improve the quality of inclusive education. A mixed methods approach was used in this study. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews with teachers, parents, students and policymakers and a survey of 255 respondents. The instrument used was an observation sheet. After the data was collected, it was analyzed through two stages, namely qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative analysis was conducted with thematic and narrative coding, while quantitative analysis used descriptive statistics and multivariate analysis. The results show that community involvement, teacher training and removing stigma are the main factors in increasing community trust in inclusive education. However, community trust does not have a significant effect on inclusive education outcomes directly. The study concluded that community-based strategies supported by teacher training and anti-stigma campaigns need to be implemented to improve community acceptance of inclusive education.

Abstract

The quality of learning materials that are not in accordance with the local culture affects the learning outcomes of students in elementary schools. This research aims to develop a responsive cultural teaching (CRT) learning module that is in accordance with the Independent Curriculum. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model which includes analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The subject of the study was a fourth-grade students of SD Negeri Julang Tanah Sareal. The results showed that CRT-based learning modules improved student learning outcomes with an average score of 4.1 in the indicators of knowledge and learning experience. In addition, the aspect of teacher support scored 4.04, and students' communication empathy skills scored 4.06, indicating that culture-based learning creates an inclusive and appropriate learning environment. This module also supports the formation of students' soft skills, such as collaboration and critical thinking, although the critical thinking aspect has not been improved. Finally, the development of CRT-based modules supports the implementation of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in primary schools, integrating local cultural values to create meaningful and sustainable learning experiences. This module is expected to be the basis for continuing education at the elementary level and can be replicated in a variety of other educational contexts

Abstract

This study aims to empower reading skills of Phase C learners through the development of a digital snake and ladder game using the Genially application. The research employed the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The analysis stage involved teachers, students, and instructional materials to identify the most suitable media for reading comprehension learning. Product feasibility was assessed through expert validation in media, content, and language. Effectiveness was further examined through reliability testing, normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing, complemented by pretest–posttest analysis using N-Gain. Limited trials were conducted with 16 students and expanded to 31 students in broader implementation. The results demonstrate that the Genially-assisted digital snake and ladder game, developed through the ADDIE model, effectively enhances reading comprehension. Expert evaluations confirmed its feasibility, while student feedback indicated higher engagement, motivation, and comprehension. Moreover, students’ reading comprehension scores improved by 39.7%, evidencing the significant contribution of interactive, game-based digital media to cognitive development. In conclusion, the Genially-assisted digital snake and ladder game is feasible and effective for empowering reading skills in Phase C learners, and it holds potential for adaptation in other learning materials.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of transformational leadership and technology literacy on teacher innovation in secondary schools, and to explore the synergy between the two in encouraging learning innovation. Using a mixed-methods approach with a convergent parallel design, quantitative data were collected through a survey of 127 teachers and school principals in Bogor City. In contrast, qualitative data were obtained through in-depth interviews with 10 informants. The SEM-PLS analysis showed that transformational leadership had a significant effect on teachers' innovation (β = 0.383; p < 0.001), followed by technology literacy (β = 0.269; p < 0.001). Qualitative data reinforce these results by revealing that moral support, experimental space, and digital skills are important combinations in realizing creative ideas. Data integration shows that teacher innovation is not born from a single factor, but rather from the synergy between a supportive leadership climate and adequate technological capacity. These findings expand the theoretical understanding of leadership in digital education and highlight the need for visionary leadership training and digital literacy to foster sustainable innovation, especially in Islamic schools.
