Abstract

Wilayah Kabupaten Banyuasin yang sebagian besar wilayahnya berupa dataran rendah pesisir khususnya kawasan Muara Sungai Musi, memiliki potensi untuk dikembangkan menjadi tujuan ekowisata mangrove karena daerah ini memiliki potensi ekosistem mangrove. Tujuan penelitian ini mengidentifikasi kesesuaian kawasan mangrove sebagai penunjang dalam pengembangan ekowisata di Muara Sungai Musi Kabupaten Banyuasin. Metode penelitian yaitu survei lapangan dan analisis SIG. Stasiun pengamatan ditentukan sebanyak 8 stasiun secara purposive. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Indeks Kesesuaian Wisata (IKW) untuk ekowisata mangrove di Muara Sungai Musi kategori sangat sesuai (S1) terdapat pada stasiun 1 dan stasiun 3, kategori sesuai (S2) stasiun 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 dan 8. Secara spasial kategori potensi kawasan mangrove sebagai ekowisata terdiri “sangat sesuai” 1.079,59 ha, “sesuai” seluas 1.344,737 ha, dan tidak sesuai seluas 1.991,339 ha.Kata kunci : Banyuasin, Ekowisata, Mangrove, Sungai Musi.

Abstract

Aktivitas  masyarakat  dalam  upaya  pemanfaatan  kekayaan  sumber  daya perairan  Muara Banyuasin  dapat  menghasilkan  logam  berat  di  perairan serta  mempengaruhi  kehidupan biota  yang  berinteraksi  langsung  dengan perairan  terutama  plankton.  Penelitian  ini mengenai  jumlah  konsentrasi logam  berat  yang  terkandung  dalam  plankton  di  Muara Banyuasin. Penelitian  dilaksanakan  pada  bulan  Maret  2014  di  wilayah  perairan Muara Banyuasin, Kabupaten Banyuasin, Provinsi Sumatera Selatan.  Proses pengambilan sampel menggunakan  metode  purposive  sampling.  Analisis data  dilakukan  secara  deskriptif dengan  melihat  hasil  pengukuran beberapa parameter  perairan  dan  hasil  uji  sampel  di laboratorium  dengan membandingkan  baku  mutu  sesuai  Keputusan  Menteri  Negara Lingkungan Hidup Nomor 51 Tahun 2004 tentang Baku Mutu Air Laut, untuk biota dimana konsentrasi  kandungan  logam  berat  Pb  dan  Cu  <  0.008  mg/L. Hasil  konsentrasi  logam berat  yang  terkandung  dalam  plankton  untuk logam  Pb  berkisar  0,0386  –  0,0700  ppm sedangkan  pada  logam  Cu berkisar  0,0059  –  0,0325  ppm.  Hasil  perhitungan  nilai faktor biokonsentrasi  (BCF)  plankton  pada  logam  Pb  berkisar  0,401  – 0,721  sedangkan  nilai faktor  biokonsentrasi  (BCF)  pada  logam  Cu berkisar 2,347  –  8,325.  Analisis  pengaruh adanya  hubungan  kandungan  logam berat  dalam  plankton  terhadap  parameter lingkungan diolah menggunakan software  SPSS 16, menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang cukup erat pada logam berat Pb dan Cu dalam plankton yang dipengaruhi oleh parameter perairan  di  Muara  Banyuasin.  Parameter  lingkungan  yang mempengaruhi  kandungan logam berat dalam plankton meliputi suhu, kecepatan arus, salinitas, oksigen terlarut dan pH.KATA KUNCI: Muara Banyuasin, plankton, tembaga (Cu), timbal (Pb).

Abstract

Penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui akurasi pemetaan hasil pengolahan citra nilai konsentrasi  klorofil-a  dan  suhu  permukaan  laut  di  sekitar perairan pulau  Alanggantang, Taman  Nasional  Sembilang  pada  bulan  Juli 2013.  Proses  pemetaan  dilakukan  dengan mengolah data citra Landsat 8 tanggal 19 Mei 2013 dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak ENVI 4.8 dan ArcGis 9.3 kemudian dianalisis. Hasil analisis pengolahan citra diregresikan dengan data hasil pengukuran lapangan untuk mengetahui akurasi pemetaan. Konsentrasi klorofil-a  hasil  analisis  laboratorium  dikorelasikan  dengan  suhu permukaan  laut  hasil pengukuran  lapangan  untuk  mengetahui  hubungan antara  kedua  parameter.  Hasil penelitian  menunjukkan  hubungan konsentrasi  klorofil-a  dengan  suhu  permukaan  laut pengukuran  lapangan masuk  kedalam  kategori  rendah  yaitu  -0,234  dan  hubungan signifikan antara  kedua  parameter  adalah  tidak  signifikan  yaitu  sebesar  0,321. Akurasi pemetaan menggunakan regresi  polynomial 3  untuk klorofil-a koefisien determinasi (R2) sebesar 0,314 sedangkan untuk suhu permukaan laut adalah 0,599.KATA KUNCI: , Klorofil-a, Landsat 8, pulau Alanggantang, suhu permukaan laut.

Abstract

Berbak Sembilang National Park of South Sumatra Region (BSNP South Sumatera) is the largest mangrove ecosystem in the western part of Indonesia. Monitoring of mangrove coverage in BSNP South Sumatera carried out using Landsat-8 imagery data based on NDVI values (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) integrated with mangrove LAI (Leaf Area Index) data. The research purpose was to analyze the mangrove coverage and mapping the density of the mangrove vegetation canopy with the integration of remote sensing data and LAI. This research conducted field survey with LAI measurement of mangrove canopy coverage and integrated with remote sensing data to validate map. The determination and correlation coefficient of NDVI and LAI value of canopy coverage was high (R2 = 0.69 ; r = 83.07).The results of research indicated that the overall distribution of the mangrove area was 94,622.05 ha. The NDVI image integration map with LAI resulted in 4 mangrove canopy density classes consisted of rare canopy (688.80 ha ; 0.73%), moderately dense canopy (1,139.55 ha ; 1.2%), dense canopy (35,003.46 ha ; 37%), and very dense canopy (57,790.20 ha ; 61.07%). Taman Nasional Berbak Sembilang wilayah Sumatera Selatan (TNBS Sumsel) merupakan kawasan ekosistem mangrove terluas di wilayah Indonesia bagian barat. Pemantauan kerapatan kanopi vegetasi mangrove di TNBS Sumsel dilakukan menggunakan data Citra Landsat-8 berdasarkan nilai NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) yang diintegrasikan dengan data LAI (Leaf Area Index) mangrove di lapangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tutupan vegetasi mangrove dan memetakan sebaran kerapatan kanopi mangrove dengan integrasi data penginderaan jauh dan LAI. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pengolahan data survei lapangan dan hasil pengolahan citra satelit. Nilai koefisien determinasi dan korelasi antara nilai NDVI dengan nilai LAI tutupan Kanopi di Lapangan dikategorikan tinggi (R2 = 0,69 ; r = 83,07). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tutupan mangrove secara keseluruhan seluas 94.622,05 ha. Peta integrasi citra NDVI dengan LAI mangrove di lapangan menghasilkan 4 kelas kerapatan kanopi mangrove yakni kanopi jarang seluas 688,80 ha (0,73%), kanopi sedang seluas 1.139,55 ha (1,2%), kanopi lebat seluas 35.003,46 ha (37%), dan kanopi sangat lebat seluas 57.790,20 ha (61,07%).

Abstract

Sungsang IV Village is a village where most of the residents work as fishermen. The waters around this village have great fishery potential. The results of fish catches by fishermen are felt to be less than optimal due to a lack of knowledge about the latest technology in fishing. Fish Finder is one alternative that can be given to solve this problem because this tool can function to detect the presence of fish. Most of the residents of Sungsang IV Village don't know about the Fish Finder tool. This service activity aims to provide introduction and training regarding the use of Fish Finder to detect the presence of fish. The enthusiasm of the community is very visible from the number of training participants that exceeds the targeted number. This training is carried out by presenting material and direct practice of using the tool to make it easier for participants to understand the operating steps. The results of the evaluation of the questionnaire conducted showed that all participants felt very helpful with the training in the use of this Fish Finder tool.

Abstract

Mangrove is the largest ecosystem in Berbak-Sembilang National Park (BSNP) South Sumatra. Mangrove has capability to absorb carbon dioxide through photosynthesis then store it in biomass, that known as Carbon sink. The purpose of this research was to estimate the ability of carbon fixation through the photosynthesis mechanism in the mangrove area of BSNP South Sumatra. This study was conducted in July-August 2017, at 12 observation stations. Data of carbon fixation through photosynthesis was estimated by using Leaf Area Index (LAI) method. The estimation of carbon fixation by photosynthesis was done for 17 dominan mangrove species in BNSP South Sumatera. The average amount of carbon absorbed by mangrove vegetation through photosynthesis mechanism in BNSP South Sumatera was 204.91 kg/ha/day. Avicennia marina and Rhizophora apiculata were the mangrove community that showed highest capability to absorb carbon through photosynthesis around 553.43 kg C/ha/day and 401.99 kg-C/ha/day, respectively. Individually, B. cylindrica had the highest capability of carbon fixation by photosynthesis mechanism (10.95 kg-C/ha/day). Our research recommended three mangrove species (A. marina, R. apiculata and B. cylindrica) for restoration species to increase carbon sink in BNSP South Sumatera based on their photosinthesis performances.

Abstract

Kegiatan peningkatan produktivitas pemasaran UMKM di Desa Sungsang II difokuskan pada peningkatan kualitas kemasan produk untuk meningkatkan daya tarik dan daya saing produk lokal di pasaran. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan edukasi kepada pelaku UMKM mengenai pentingnya kemasan yang menarik dalam meningkatkan nilai jual produk. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pelatihan praktis mengenai desain kemasan, pemilihan bahan, dan strategi pemasaran daring. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan kesadaran pelaku UMKM untuk menerapkan pada produknya, meskipun 63% diantaranya masih menghadapi tantangan akibat keterbatasan modal, kemampuan teknis, resistensi terhadap perubahan, dan keterbatasan akses terhadap alat dan bahan kemasan. Maka diperlukan upaya pendampingan berkelanjutan, akses permodalan, dan penyediaan bahan kemasan yang terjangkau agar dapat memberikan hasil yang optimal.

Abstract

  ABSTRACT The coastal waters of Banyuasin are shallow marine waters directly connected to the Bangka Strait. The waters are drained by several large rivers and many small rivers, and the movement of water masses is influenced by tidal activity. Sea surface temperature as one of the physical factors of water is important to study considering its role can be used as an indicator of water quality, an indicator of the habitat of aquatic organisms, as well as a basis for studying climate change and several physical processes in the ocean, such as upwelling and fronts. This research aims to map the spatio-temporal distribution of sea surface temperature. The methods used are the remote sensing method and field surveys using image data in 2022–2023. The results showed that there are differences in the distribution of sea surface temperature both spatially and temporally. In the western season, also known as the western season, the temperature range is found in the range of 27.77–29.88 oC. In the first transitional season, the temperature range is 27.39–31.56 oC; the temperature distribution in the eastern season ranges from 30.13–33.89 oC; and the temperature range in the second transitional season is 24.47–30.37 oC. The highest sea surface temperatures occur in the eastern season, and these highest temperatures are lower in the western season. The spatial distribution of sea surface temperature is generally lower in coastal waters in the west and transition II seasons and higher in the transition I and east seasons. Abstract

Reward mempunyai peran penting dalam mempertahankan ataupun membangun motivasi belajar mahasiswa karena dianggap salah satu penentu keberhasilan selama mengikuti perkuliahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis motivasi belajar mahasiswa pendidikan biologi dari strata satu (S1) dan strata dua (S2) ditinjau dari pemberian reward selama perkuliahan. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner online tentang persepsi mahasiswa secara umum dan khusus terhadap reward yang diadaptasi dari Lloyd (2007). Selanjutnya, data dianalisis secara kuantitatif untuk menjelaskan persepsi dari 190 mahasiswa pendidikan biologi yang terdiri dari 177 mahasiswa strata satu (S1) dan 13 mahasiswa strata dua (S2). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa seluruh mahasiswa pendidikan biologi setuju dan termotivasi untuk belajar ketika diberikan reward saat perkuliahan. Meskipun persentase tipe reward yang diharapkan berbeda, seperti reward nilai sebesar 50%, pemberian semangat/pujian 23%, lalu 20 % berupa hadiah, sedangkan bentuk lain 7%. Selain itu mahasiswa umumnya lebih memilih diberitahu jika ada reward dibanding diberikan secara spontan. Perbedaan spesifik antara mahasiswa S1 dengan S2 terlihat saat pemilihan khusus jenis reward, dimana mahasiswa S1 lebih memilih nilai sedangkan mahasiswa S2 lebih mengharapkan adanya pengayaan materi, pembimbingan, serta pemberian sumber literatur yang dapat membantu tugas mereka. Penerapan reward yang disesuaikan dengan tingkat pendidikan mahasiswa dapat menjadi acuan dalam mendorong semangat belajar mahasiswa selama perkuliahan.  Reward plays an essential role in supporting or increasing student learning motivation because it is believed as one of contributing factors to students' performance in lectures. This study intended to analyze how rewarding students in classes influences undergraduate (S1) and postgraduate (S2) degrees in biology education students' motivation to learn. The data was gathered utilizing a Lloyd-adapted online survey (2007) regarding students' perceptions of rewards in general and particular. Furthermore, 190 biology education students, consisting of 177 undergraduate students (S1) and 13 postgraduates (S2), had their perceptions addressed through quantitative analysis. The results indicated that all biology education students believed that rewards during lectures motivate them to learn. Although the percentage of the type of reward intended varies, such as a reward in the form of a score was 50%, encouragement or praise was 23%, then 20% was in the form of a gift, while other forms were 7%. In addition, students generally prefered to be informed if there was a reward compared to being given it spontaneously. When deciding on a specific reward, it was evident that postgraduate students differed significantly in their choices. Whereas undergraduate students prioritized grades or scores, postgraduate students expected more material enrichment, mentoring, and the provision of literature resources to assist with their assignments. Implementing rewards that are relevant to the educational level of the students can be a reference for enhancing their interest in lectures.

Abstract

Feedback has recently shifted from being received to being an interaction process, raising considerable interest among educators. This study aims to examine whether current feedback practices in higher education have led to active student interaction processes, and how individual and contextual factors are considered in practice based on gender and university perspectives. An online questionnaire was used to collect data from 418 students from three Indonesian universities, Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM), Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang (UMP), and Universitas Sulawesi Barat (USB). The data was analyzed descriptively-quantitatively. Results indicate that current feedback practices do not adequately direct students to actively participate in the processing feedback. The feedback received is dominated by general feedback (UNM and USB), while detailed and discussed feedback is generally received by UMP students. Additionally, the expected and effective feedback obtained the same pattern that individuals and groups must interact which is in line with the new paradigm. The results also showed the ideal time for providing feedback is 5-10 days for various types of assignments and 15-20 days for theses. These results provide educators with information on strategies and approaches in feedback practices that are relevant and effective in enhancing student learning based on the new paradigm.
