Abstract

This research is a quantitative descriptive study which aims to describe the ability to read aloud in learning the lontaraq script of students at SDN 180 Sikkojang, Soppeng Regency. In this study, the entire population came from students at SDN 180 Sikkojang, Soppeng Regency academic year 2024/2025. Sampling in this research was carried out using total sampling. The data collection technique in this research was the oral test technique. The data obtained was then analyzed using quantitative descriptive. There are four criteria for assesment aspects in this research, including the fluency aspect, the use of intonacion aspect, the accuracy of pronunciation aspect, and the volume aspect of the voice. In the aspect of fluency, only 2 students (13%) obtained a score of 70 and above, while in the aspect of intonation use, only 1 student (7%) achieved that score. Furthermore, in the aspect of precise pronunciation, there was 1 student (7%) and in the aspect of voice volume, only 2 students (13%) managed to obtain a score of 70 and above.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis karakteristik Lontara pada aplikasi online sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif bagi guru mata pelajaran muatan lokal Bahasa Daerah di Kabupaten Maros. Lontara, sebagai aksara tradisional khas suku Bugis-Makassar, memiliki potensi besar untuk dilestarikan melalui integrasi teknologi modern. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi online yang dirancang dengan menggunakan aksara Lontara memiliki keunikan dalam aspek visual dan fitur interaktif, seperti latihan pengenalan huruf, permainan edukatif, dan evaluasi pembelajaran berbasis digital. Selain itu, aplikasi ini mampu meningkatkan minat dan motivasi belajar siswa, sekaligus memudahkan guru dalam mengajarkan materi Bahasa Daerah. Pemanfaatan teknologi ini juga memberikan solusi terhadap tantangan dalam pelestarian budaya lokal di era digital. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa integrasi Lontara dalam aplikasi pembelajaran online dapat menjadi inovasi yang efektif dalam mengembangkan pembelajaran muatan lokal, serta mendorong pelestarian budaya dan literasi digital di kalangan pendidik dan siswa.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the meaning of metaphor in the song lyrics on the album "Monokrom" produced by Tulus Company in 2016 using the conceptual metaphor approach proposed by George Lakoff and Mark Johnson. Conceptual metaphors are an important tool in understanding how humans process experience and understand the world through language. This research is descriptive qualitative research using note-taking techniques. The data source for this research is the song lyrics in the Monokrom album produced by Tulus Company. The data analysis technique used is the Miles and Huberman qualitative data analysis technique, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The song lyrics in the album "Monochrome" are analyzed to identify and interpret the metaphors contained therein. The data obtained was then categorized based on the types of conceptual metaphors according to Lakoff and Johnson's theory. The research results show that the album uses many types of metaphors to convey messages and emotions in the songs, such as structural, orientational and ontological metaphors. Based on the research results obtained, the use of metaphor in the lyrics of this song provides depth of meaning and enriches the listener's aesthetic experience and also contributes to linguistic studies, especially in understanding the context that figurative language can be used in song lyrics to convey complex and emotional meaning.

Abstract

Songs are one form of oral literature that has the power to convey messages through language and music. So the analysis of the meaning of the lyrics of the song Atuna Tufuli popularized by Shirine was carried out using Michael Riffaterre's semiotic analysis which focuses on the analysis of poetry (song lyrics). This study aims to find the meaning of the lyrics of the song Atuna Tufuli by describing namely (1) indirectness of expression, (2) heuristic and hermeneutic reading, (3) matrix, and (4) Model and hypogram (intertextual correlation). This study is a descriptive-qualitative type of research with a semiotic approach and the lyrics of the song Atuna Tufuli as its corpus. The design used in this study is a library study (Library Research). The results show that the lyrics of Atuna Tufuli by Remi Bandali utilize indirectness of expression to convey the complex meaning of love. (1) indirectness of expression includes: (a) Displacement of meaning. (b) distortion of meaning. (c) Creation of meaning. (2) Heuristic and Hermeneutic Readings describe the expression of suppressed feelings of love. (3) The matrix of these lyrics can be identified as "the desire of children in conflict areas to have freedom and a normal life". (4) Model and hypogram (intertextual correlation), the model can be various elements that are already known to the listener or reader, such as the theme of the desire to have freedom and a normal life, as well as the call for attention and assistance for children living in conflict and violence, the style of writing lyrics, and expressions of longing that can be found in works of art, literature, and music. The hypogram in the song "Atuna Tufuli" by Remi Bandali lies in the repetition of classical themes that emphasize the desire of children to have a normal childhood and peace, which are often found in ancient Arabic poetry.

Abstract

Coasts or shorelines are sites of dynamic activity, and phenomena such as wave and tidal action, sediment supply rate, sea level changes, and the morphological characteristics of the area play a critical role in shaping coastal ecosystems. This study examines coastal changes along the Banyuasin Estuary in South Sumatra, Indonesia, over 30 years (1989–2019). We use remote sensing data, machine learning, and the DSAS tool to analyze historical changes (1989-2019). Landsat images obtained from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) via the Google Earth Engine API are analysed using ArcGIS and DSAS 6.0 software. The largest rate of change occurred at Anakan Island, with the most significant accretion rate being 118.98 m/year, causing a shoreline change of 2012.33 m over 30 years. The smallest shoreline changes were in the Telang and Payung Island areas, which are located in the Musi River Estuary. The magnitude of maximum shoreline change in both locations was 62.72 m and 92.34 m, respectively, with maximum rates of change ranging from 2.09 - 3.08 m/year. The results show that the general pattern of accretion-abrasion in the Banyuasin Estuary is divided into three stages: rapid accretion stage (1989-1994), accretion-erosion adjustment stage (1994-2009), and slow erosion stage (2009-2019).

Abstract

This study examines how Islamic educational values are integrated into the Kampus Mengajar Program at elementary schools in Makassar and how this integration contributes to students’ character development in the face of global and moral challenges. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis in five elementary schools participating in the program across Makassar. The research involved 12 informants, including Kampus Mengajar participants from Universitas Hasanuddin and the elementary school teachers they collaborated. The collected data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive analysis model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The study found that integrating Islamic educational values, such as Tauhid, akhlak, ibadah, and muamalah, into classroom activities significantly enhanced students' character development, particularly regarding honesty, responsibility, and tolerance. These values were instilled through religious rituals, community projects, and everyday interactions. The program also fostered students' awareness of environmental ethics and social empathy. The findings suggest that Kampus Mengajar is an effective vehicle for character education aligned with Islamic values. It is recommended that future implementations provide structured training for participants on Islamic educational integration. Further research could examine the long-term behavioral impacts on students and the institutional sustainability of such value-based educational programs.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Snakes and Ladders-based learning media in improving students' mastery of Arabic vocabulary. Traditional methods like textbooks and static visual aids often fail to engage students actively and ensure consistent vocabulary retention. To address this, the study applied a pre-experimental design with a quantitative approach, using a one-group pretest-post-test format. The intervention involved a life-sized Snakes and Ladders board placed on the classroom floor, where students physically moved as game pieces and answered vocabulary prompts at each square—this setup aimed to provide an interactive learning experience, reinforcing vocabulary through repetition and contextual application. The study involved 18 fourth-grade students, with an initial average pretest score of 71.61, which increased to 94.11 in the Post-test, showing an improvement of 22.50 points. A paired t-test revealed a statistically significant improvement (t(17) = -12.144, p < 0.001), with Cohen's d = 3.79, indicating a substantial impact. These results demonstrate that Snakes and Ladders game-based learning can significantly enhance vocabulary acquisition. Incorporating physical movement, peer interaction, and visual stimuli is vital in reinforcing vocabulary retention, offering a promising alternative teaching method to support Arabic language learning at the elementary level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the linguistic structure in the poem 2000 Taht al-Sifr by Nizar Qabbani using the foregrounding theory approach. The main focus of this study is on the techniques of repetition and linguistic deviation used by the poet to create aesthetic effects and convey ideological meaning. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a textual analysis approach. Data were collected through literature study and close reading of the poem, then analyzed based on grammatical deviations and recurring linguistic patterns. The results show that the static repetition found in the poem creates a sense of stagnation and emotional impasse, while linguistic deviations, including extreme metaphors and unconventional syntax, generate symbolic tension that reflects social alienation and political crisis after the defeat of the Arab world in 1967. Foregrounding in this poem not only enhances the poetic expression but also functions as a form of critique of the socio-political condition. These findings indicate that linguistic elements in poetry play a crucial role in constructing meanings that go beyond aesthetic expression.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang ditemukan adalah kurangnya minat belajar aksara dan perangkat pembelajaran yang kurang inovatif dan menarik buat siswa. Solusi yang ditawarkan adalah guru-guru juga akan dilatih cara menggunakan font dan Karakter Lontara untuk membuat bahan ajar serta media pembelajaran muatan lokal. Dengan demikian para siswa akan termotivasi belajar karena media yang digunakan sesuai dengan perkembangan zaman dan sudah menjadi kebutuhan masa kini terciptanya strategi mengajar untuk mendapatkan referensi dalam proses belajar mengajar. Komputer dapat menjadi sumber instruksional yang baik, multimedia sebagai sumber alat motivasi mengajar yang dapat melibatkan peserta didik dan mendukung gaya pembelajaran yang modern, Sebagai sumber belajar yang inovatif dalam pengajaran, Meningkatnya kemampuan penggunaan multimedia dalam pengajaran, Para siswa lebih antusias dalam belajar. Abstract

Kelong is one of the regional literary forms that has been present alongside the activities of the Makassar community since ancient times. The book "Kelong-kelongna Tau Mangkasaraka" by Kembong Daeng is one of the kelongs that contains 110 titles filled with various moral messages. This study aims to describe the moral messages found in "Kelong-kelongna Tau Mangkasaraka" by Kembong Daeng. The results of the study show that the moral messages in "Kelong-kelongna Tau Mangkasaraka" by Kembong Daeng consist of (1) moral messages related to the relationship between humans and God, such as urging to acknowledge the oneness of God, acknowledging the existence of Prophet Muhammad as the Messenger of God, the command to establish prayers and fulfill zakat, and performing hajj; (2) moral messages related to the relationship between humans and themselves, including cultivating good attitudes and behaviors, avoiding jealousy, working hard, actively seeking knowledge, and messages to stay away from arrogance and greed; (3) moral messages related to the relationship between humans and others, including messages to respect and be kind to others.
