Abstract

Education plays a strategic role in shaping character and improving the quality of human resources. One effort to strengthen character in the Merdeka Curriculum is through the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile, particularly the dimension of independence. This study aims to describe the implementation of the independence dimension in Pancasila Education learning in Grade VII at SMP Negeri 2 Kota Jambi and to identify its supporting and inhibiting factors. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research participants included the principal, the Pancasila Education teacher, and Grade VII students. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and document analysis. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation, while data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The results indicate that the independence dimension has been implemented in aspects of self-awareness, self-regulation, and initiative and responsibility in learning. Students have begun to demonstrate awareness of their learning responsibilities, the ability to manage time, and the courage to take initiative in completing tasks. However, the consistency of self-regulation and the self-confidence of some students still need to be strengthened. Supporting factors include a conducive school environment, the support of the Merdeka Curriculum, and participatory teaching approaches. Inhibiting factors include unstable study habits and distractions from gadget use

Kata Kunci: HOTS, REACT, Evaluasi, Pembelajaran, PPKnThe purpose of this study was to improve the ability of prospective teacher students in compiling Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) learning evaluation instruments using the REACT (Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, Transferring) method. The REACT method was chosen because it emphasizes teaching that connects concepts with real-life contexts, encouraging students to develop critical, creative, and analytical thinking skills. The study was conducted through a Mixed Method approach with the participation of 30 prospective teacher students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, tests, and document analysis. The results showed that the application of the REACT method provided a significant increase in students' ability to compile HOTS-based instruments. The REACT method allows prospective teachers to be more skilled in designing evaluation instruments that not only measure low cognitive abilities but also students' critical and creative thinking skills. These findings provide important implications for teacher training programs in an effort to improve the quality of education in the future. Keywords: HOTS, REACT, Evaluation, Learning, Civic Education.

Abstract

Problems in classroom learning are becoming more complex day by day, especially regarding the final results in learning activities that will be achieved. This is caused by several factors in teaching and learning activities which are not optimally implemented by teaching staff or lecturers. Lecturers have a very important role in achieving the success of their students or students. But in reality, when studying citizenship, students do not appear active in participating in the teaching and learning process in class, the class only looks monotonous, with the lecturer playing an active role, students only listen and do not play a role. active in the learning process. In situations like this, creativity is needed from a lecturer or teaching staff to stimulate student activity in participating in the learning process so that the learning process does not only go in one direction but there is reciprocity between lecturers and students. In order for learning to occur in a class where students are actively involved, the lecturer or teacher must use an interactive model or method such as using a cooperative model. In teaching this citizenship course, researchers use the problem based learning (PBL) learning model. The aim of this research is to find out how the learning activities of Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) students class of 2023 in the Citizenship course use the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The research method used by the researcher is the classroom action research method which applies research stages using cycles, where in the research it is planned to carry out three cycles consisting of three face-to-face meetings in each cycle. With each cycle using the steps or syntax of the PBL model.  The results obtained in the research were an increase in student activity after participating in classroom learning using the method applied by the lecturer using the PBl model. This can be seen from the results of learning activities in cycles I, II and III showing significant improvement from cycles I, II and III.

Abstract

Students become agents of change who are expected to be able to become a generation of nations that are capable in various ways. Skills can be trained through the learning process, including by using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach that contains explanations and descriptions in the form of narrative text as the result of the analysis. Project-based learning is carried out through civics courses, students are required to have the ability to determine problem topics, compile work steps, set work schedules, utilize monitoring, present project results through presentations, and conduct evaluations as notes for improvement. In the process of working on projects, students' civic skills are honed, to be proficient in determining actions in completing delegated tasks. Students are required to be sensitive to problems and be able to provide solutions not only in the form of theory but in the form of real actions that are realized directly so that students will have the skills that are available and able to become good citizens.
