Abstract

Fuel oil purifier on board is one of the auxiliary aircraft that plays an important role in separating fuel from water and dirt. The use of clean fuel is to support the operation of the main engine in producing complete combustion. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the problems that may occur with the performance process of the F.O purifier such as the abnormality of the Fuel Oil filtration process on the F.O purifier to anticipate the influence that arises if this aircraft has problems cleaning the fuel from liquid and solid impurities. This research was carried out on board the MV. TANTO LUAS fleet owned by pt. TANTO INTIM LINE, which was carried out for approximately 9 months. The data collection method used in this research is the observation method (observation research method). Primary data here are obtained from direct observations and secondary data are obtained from documents and literature related to this study. The results obtained from this study show that damage occurs and improper installation of the gravity disc can adversely affect the performance of the purifier. This is characterized by the abnormality of the F.O pufirier purification process which results in unclean fuel being wasted out and accommodated in the sludge tank. The corresponding temperature is 85°C and viscosity is 37.8°C (100°F).

Watunapato which serves the interisland track in North Sulawesi. In the transportation system security and safety are very important as a form of good service delivery. As well as the arrangement and handling of passenger and vehicle loads on board. However, vehicle loading is above KMP. Lohoraung and KMP. Tarusi not in accordance with established standards. The method used to analyze the existing problems is a qualitative method of manifest analysis of passengers and vehicles, the analysis of the procedures for transporting vehicles on board, the analysis of binding obligations of vehicles on board. While in the existing conditions of the procedures for transporting vehicles on board the KMP.Lohoraung and KMP.Tarusi still not in accordance with the loading of vehicles that have been arranged in PM No.115 of 2016, the obligation of fastening the vehicle on board on the KMP.Lohoraung and KMP.Tarusi is still not in accordance with the obligation to bind the vehicle on board which has been regulated in PM No.30 of 2016, due to the absence of vehicle fastening on board. In order to create security, comfort and safety, things that can be done is to check the appropriate passenger and vehicle manifest form and observe the process of filling in passenger and vehicle data, and implement procedures for transporting vehicles on board.

Abstract

As the largest archipelagic country in the world and located right in between of two oceans, Indonesia benefited from its geographical location especially since the Malacca Strait become the major marine traffic in the world. Not only that, Indonesia also established three major waterways called Archipelagic Sea Lanes (ASL) where every international ship obliged to passing by Indonesian territorial waters without disturbance with the straits such as Sunda Strait and Lombok Strait as the major strait. In economic development, these policies impacted the growth of several major cities in Indonesia such as Medan in the Sumatera Island, Jakarta and Surabaya in Java Island and Makassar in Sulawesi Island. The archipelagic countries as defined in the UNCLOS as the waters around, between and connecting the islands belong to the Indonesian irrespective the size or dimension, therefore a constant vigilant must be conduct by Indonesian Government. In this research, we utilize AIS data from third party then analyze from the numbers of ships travelling in the waterway and the needs to maintain a state-of-the-art monitoring of every ship in the territorial waters.
