Abstract

This research aimed to develop song-based video clip learning media to support the teaching of the classification of living things for seventh-grade students. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 11 Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands Province, during the 2024/2025 academic year and involved 30 Grade VII students. The research used a Research and Development (R&D) approach employing the 4D model, which consists of four stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. Data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The validation results showed that the material aspect obtained a score of 91%, categorized as very valid. The media aspect reached 79%, and the music aspect obtained 90%, both of which were also classified as very valid. The practicality test indicated that the teacher response reached 88%, while the students’ responses reached 96%, demonstrating that the developed learning media are very practical for use in classroom learning. The effectiveness test using the N-Gain analysis produced a score of 0.77, which is included in the high category. In addition, students’ interest in the use of the learning media reached 92%, indicating a very high level of interest. These findings show that the song-based video clip learning media developed in this study are valid, practical, and effective for supporting science learning on the topic of the classification of living things at the junior high school level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze science communication skills in writing based on the distribution of learning styles. The research is a quantitative descriptive study. The population consists of 347 tenth-grade students, with a sample of 186 students. Sampling was conducted using stratified random sampling techniques. The instruments used include a portfolio sheet with practical reports and a learning style questionnaire. To analyze science communication skills in writing based on learning style distribution, the collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques with Microsoft Excel. The results show that the average science communication skills in writing, categorized by learning style, are rated as very good, with a percentage of 81%. This indicates that visual learning style dominates and significantly contributes to the science communication skills in writing among tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 4 Tanjungpinang. In other words, students with a visual learning style demonstrate very good performance in written science communication

Abstract

Lesson Study for Learning Community (LSLC) ini bertujuan untuk pembinaan guru dalam peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran secara kolaboratif, dengan tahapan plan, do dan see Kegiatan ini dilakukan oleh Tim PKM PPG FKIP UMRAH. Kegiatan ini dilakukan pada tanggal 01 dan 02 Agustus 2024 dengan model pelatihan dan pendampingan. Adapun judul kegiatan ini adalah Implementasi Lesson Study For Learning Community (LSLC) untuk Meningkatkan Kualitas Pembelajaran di SMP Negeri 4 Tanjungpinang. Peserta pada kegiatan ini adalah guru-guru di SMP Negeri 4 Tanjungpinang sebanyak 25 orang. Adapun hasil yang diperoleh dari pelatihan ini, yaitu: 1) hasil pre test sebelum diberikan pelatihan yaitu 58,4% dengan kategori baik.; 2) post test yaitu 92, 4 dengan kategori sangat baik. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini, yaitu 1) pelaksanaan kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh Tim PPG FKIP UMRAH dapat dikatakan berhasil; 2) Para guru SMP Negeri 4 Tanjungpinang memiliki semangat kolaborasi yang baik untuk pengembangan diri dan peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran; dan 3) aktivitas observasi guru berjalan lancar dan guru sangat berantusias untuk menghadiri guru model melakukan pembelajaran dan saling memberikan masukan
