Abstract

Identitas suatu tempat pada hakikatnya dapat diubah dan dibentuk. Kondisi seperti ini dapat dimungkinkan sebagai bentuk upaya untuk mengakomodir perubahan keseharian yang terjadi yang terbentuk oleh transformasi dan artikulasi hubungan sosial. Dalam konteks ini, identitas tempat tersebut akan berkaitan erat dengan pengaruh budaya dan tradisi yang berlaku; sesuatu yang bersifat tidak tetap, belum berakhir dan memiliki berbagai variasi bentuk lainnya yang sudah tentu mempengaruhi tempat dan kehidupan masyarakat tempatan. Melalui pendekan penelitian kualitatif, penelitian ini mencari pengaruh budaya Melayu pada identitas sosial kebudayaan di Kota Pekanbaru. Data lapangan dikelompokkan, dianalisis, dan diolah melalui proses iterasi berulang guna memahami bagaimana proses rekonstruksi identitas sosial kebudayaan terjadi, dan bagaimana juga identitas budaya tertentu menjadi dasar dalam proses rekonstruksi identitas ini. Penelitian ini pada akhirnya dapat menyimpulkan bahwa hubungan antara budaya dan identitas dapat dijelaskan melalui arsitektur dan perubahan sosial kebudayaan yang terjadi di kehidupan perkotaan

Abstract

Malay houses almost always identifying through building raise on the pile, saddle roof and repeated gable-finials decorative that make them as a local distinct uniqueness. This uniqueness, which could be the strongest features, have brought significant cultural value and influencies to the development of building architecture. Gable horn, part of gable-finials, known as traditional roof decorative element has architectural similarities in the broad area coverage. Not only in traditional building of the archipelago, but also found strong evidence has similarities with decorative elements used on gable-finials in the region surrounding Astronesia such as; South East Asia, Malanesia, Micronesia, Polynesia and Madagascar. This has made identifying characteristic strong decorative elements.Gable horn become one hallmark of traditional architecture Astronesia region. Values contained not only from an architectural point of view, but can develop in accordance with their respective regional culture. The study was based on literature review and field surveyed to observed the presence of gable horn of Malay architecture traditional building. How variant element that can be encountered and became the origin to architectural presedent. Indeed, eventhough there are some varieties and forms of architectural elements throughout the archipelago, three major elements of raise on the pile, saddle roof and gable finial are become the most important characteristic of Malay house.

Abstract

Perjalanan waktu menunjukan pertumbuhan penduduk kota yang pesat, perkembangan kegiatan ekonomi dengan kekuatan lokal yang besar, telah memaksa setiap wilayah untuk dapat bertahan dan mengikuti arus perkembangan dengan tetap mengantisipasi dengan segala kemungkinan terjadi. Kajian dilatarbelakangi untuk melihat potensi kawasan tepian Sungai Siak Pekanbaru yang akan dipersiapkan sebagai pengembangan kawasan business baru kota, melalui kaidah-kaidah perancangan yang berkonsepkan waterfront city. Sebagai pusat pertumbuhan perekonomian baru maka kawasan waterfront city direncanakan dapat meningkatkan produktivitas ekonomi kota dengan melestarikan budaya dan kekuatan lokal. Kawasan kajian berada di Kota Pekanbaru yang dilalui Sungai Siak, membentang dari tengah Pulau Sumatera menuju Selat Malaka. Pengembangan kawasan tepian sungai merupakan upaya penataan dan perbaikan kualitas lingkungan yang menekankan arti penting perairan sebagai kawasan berpotensi untuk meningkatkan perekonomian kota. Kawasan waterfront city merupakan alternatif pengembangan yang menyediakan ruang tumbuh kembang kota sekaligus sebagai penyokong kegiatan perekonomian melalui kegiatan investasi, menumbuhkembangkan kegiatan baru dengan tetap menghargai kegiatan yang telah ada sebelumnya. Kajian pada akhirnya menetapkan usulan rancangan satu blok kawasan di tengah Kota Pekanbaru untuk dikembangkan menjadi kawasan business baru berupa suatu rancangan kawasan berkonsepkan waterfront city yang terencana dan terintegrasi dengan penataan kota secara keseluruhan.

Abstract

Penataan ruang perkotaan yang marak belakangan ini telah mengakibatkan pergeseran karakter wajah kota yang ditandai mulai tergusurnya kawasan tua kota. Kecenderungan ini terjadi akibat pendekatan kebijakan penataan ruang kota yang tidak berpihak dan menutup perkembangan karakter asli kota. Kesejatiandiri kawasan perkotaan menunjukan nilai lokalitas yang dipengaruhi aspek kesejarahan. Menjamin keberadaan kawasan bersejarah kota akan menjamin kesempatan bagi generasi masa depan untuk merasakan ruang dan bentuk kota yang unik dalam periode sejarah tertentu. Kajian dilakukan pada dua kawasan di dua kota berbeda yaitu Kota Pekanbaru dan Kota Siak Sri Indrapura. Kawasan Kampung Bandar Senapelan merupakan kawasan asal mula berdirinya Kota Pekanbaru yang masih memiliki objek sejarah arsitektural. Bangunanbangunan tua di kawasan ini mulai terancam keberadaanya tergantikan dengan bangunan-bangunan baru yang tidak lagi menunjukan karakter lokal. Sedangkan Kawasan Pasar Lama di Siak Sri Indrapura merupakan bagian kota dari pusat Kesultanan Siak yang merupakan kesultanan Melayu terakhir di Riau. Kawasan yang syarat sejarah dan objek arsitektural ini mulai tertekan oleh pesatnya tumbuh kembang Kota Siak Sri Indrapura. Meskipun kedua kawasan ini merupakan kawasan tua kota, namun upaya menuju kawasan budaya berjatidiri dapat melalui strategi dan pendekatan yang berbeda. Pada Kawasan Senapelan dapat dilakukan dengan menitikberatkan penanganan dengan tetap menghidupkan kemajemukan fungsi kawasan, melindungi kondisi lingkungan dan bangunan-bangunan tua yang mencerminkan karakter asli dan nilai sejarah kota. Sedangkan untuk Kawasan Pasar Lama lebih menitik beratkan pada pendekatan sebagai kawasan preservasi dan konservasi kota, mengingat nilai dan kandungan sejarahnya.

Abstract

Tanjung Belit village in Kampar Kiri Hulu subdistrict has been transformed to be tourism object and it is passed through by a river (Sebayang River). This place does not provide adequatefacility for accommodation. That is the reason why there has to be a temporary accommodation, such as resort. Buildings with the characteristics of rumah lontiok still stand in this region.However, the villagers had not used those characteristics. The villagers focus more on maximizing the function of the shapes and space of their house. To reflect characteristics of the place where the resort is built, Postmodern Architecture is the suitable theme for this resort design. By using Postmodern Architecture topic as design approach, hence we get the Compound of Composure andGregarious concept. Composure is interpreted as modern architeture which emphasizes on function and simple form, and Gregarious is interpreted as Lontiok Architecture which has more shapes and carved objects. The compatibility of the concept is applied on site pattern and building form including zoning, mass order, outdoor planning, mass formation, indoor planning, and interior.Keyword:Resort, Compound, Postmodern Architecture

Abstract

The Akit tribe is one of the indigenous tribes of Riau Province that is rich in culture. Hamidy (1991) states that the Akit tribe is included in one of the six isolated tribes in Riau Province. The entry of transmigration from various regions in Indonesia made the Akit tribe's culture and architecture increasingly marginalized and lost. Then an effort was made to resolve this problem by carrying out the design of Akit Cultural Centre located in Pekanbaru City.Akit Cultural Centre is a means to accommodate the Akit ethnic culture which will be presented to the wider community, especially the people of Riau. Akit Cultural Centre is designed to be able to provide information, knowledge, education, training and learning in form, combining the culture of the Akit tribe with Contemporary Architecture.Contemporary architecture is an architecture whose buildings are designed by following a building that is developing in its time or commonly called the present building, so that it presents buildings that can present culture well and interesting forms so that it brings the wider community, especially the younger generation, to revive the existence of the Akit tribe culture.To present a contemporary cultural center, this design goes through processes such as the analysis and application of the theme of Contemporary Architecture which involves many aspects to present the Akit Cultural Center that can solve this problem.Keywords: Cultural Centre, Akit tribe, Contemporary Architecture.

Abstract

Tenun Songket and Batik Tabir are Riau typical handicrafts. The demand for these fabrics has increased because of the large public interest in using these fabrics in various events. However, the market demand cannot be fulfilled because the numbers of production and craftsmen from Tenun Songket and Batik Tabir are still low. As a result of these factors, a production center is needed that can overshadow the production process of Songket and Batik Tabir. This production center aims to accommodate the creativity of Songket and Batik Tabirs’ craftsmen from regencies in Riau that produce high-quality Tenun Songket and Batik Tabir.The production centers also facilitate promotional activities and education for the community. Not only accommodates production activities, so that traditional handicrafts from Tenun Songket and Batik Tabir can develop well and become an identity for the people and culture of Riau. The Production Center is designed through the Neo Vernacular Architecture approach that mimics some or several elements of the physical form of the building or non-physical elements of the building in the form of layout, mindset and culture. Abstract

Literature as an art and culture can be used to convey many forms of messages like moral, religion and cultural values that can affect the mindset of society. As time goes by, the art of literature started neglected. This is cause a certain anxiety of the existence of literary art in the future. Related to this issue, Pekanbaru needs The Graha Sastra facilities which can serve as a space and a media appreciation of the literary art. To achieve this goal, Graha Sastra was designed with facilities that can support the literary arts development activities such as education, production and recreation facilities. "Architecture as a language of literature" was appointed as Graha Literature’s design concept. This concept was implemented in the outer space order, mass formation, and the space order in the buildings. Postmodern Architecture approach with emphasis on hybrid method, the design of the Graha Sastra is expected can produce an architectural design which appropriate, either to the building or the enthusiasts of the literary art. Elements of the Graha Satra in Pekanbaru design consist of the zoning area, mass order, the mass formation,outdoor space, structure, space order in buildings and facade. Design patterns at Graha Sastra using design patterns that correspond to the elements of literature and combined two characters style, realism and romanticism. Whereas the application of the concept can be felt at the momentwhen the user reach the recreational facilities through a spinning and contoured circulation as well as stages of the plot of the flow of a story.Keywords: Languange, Literary Elements, Hybrid Architecture

The lack of knowledge how human relation with aquatic occur in Pekanbaru society. They have need a place to introduce aquatic in order to growing concern for aquatic at oncegood for human pyshcology and to reduce stress. Siak River Aquatic Hub is a place which giving education about aquatic a live by sub-diving, marine breeding, aquaplants conservation, touching marine and art by aquatic. Water as the main element of design implemented in concept transformation as nature section and high-tech structure making theiconic building in Pekanbaru all of those can be realized by Santiago Calatrava design principle. As Calatrava to interested user by having nature in design so make the Diving Soulto Realms is a good main concept. The main idea of Siak River Aquatic Hub are bring user’s soul to feel how aquatic life and be clarified by profile of Siak River as familiar nature inPekanbaru and be transformationed by Calatrava design principle heed by water reflector, high-tech of structure and a lot of cuvring applied in Siak River Aquatic Hub.Keywords : Aquatic Hub, Sungai Siak, Calatrava.

Abstract

Batik was previously only famous on the island of Java, but over time, batik has spread throughout Indonesia and can be enjoyed by various groups. UNESCO's acknowledgment of batik culture makes batik must be maintained its existence and sustainability. Riau Province also participates in preserving batik and has different batik patterns and motifs from other regions of the archipelago. The motifs and characteristics of Riau batik are adopted from Riau Malay culture, marked by the use of striking colors, flora motifs in Riau, perpendicular grooves, and having a meaningful philosophy. However, there are still many Riau people who do not know and know Riau Batik, people only know and are familiar with batik from Java so that interest in Riau Batik is low. For this reason, it is necessary to have a place for the community to learn about Riau batik and a place for batik to grow, develop and maintain its sustainability, namely the Batik House. The design of the batik house uses an eco-tech architectural theme. Through this theme, it is hoped that the design of the Riau Batik House building can adapt to the natural, social and local cultural environment, survive and function with the times as well as Batik crafts that still survive today, involve technology to support ecological architectural design and provide comfort aspects. for users.
