Abstract

Abstract

General Background: Students’ creative thinking ability in economics learning remains relatively low, despite its importance in developing higher-order thinking skills in 21st-century education. Specific Background: Previous studies have predominantly examined self-efficacy, teacher instructional skills, and learning motivation separately, limiting a comprehensive understanding of their combined role in shaping creativity. Knowledge Gap: There is limited empirical evidence integrating personal, environmental, and behavioral factors within a unified analytical framework based on Social Cognitive Theory. Aims: This study aims to analyze the role of self-efficacy, teachers’ instructional skills, and learning motivation in shaping students’ creative thinking ability. Results: Using a quantitative causality design with 63 students, the findings reveal that self-efficacy and teacher instructional skills show significant relationships with creative thinking ability (p < 0.05), while learning motivation does not demonstrate a significant partial relationship; however, all variables jointly show a significant contribution. Novelty: The study offers an integrated analytical model combining psychological and pedagogical factors to explain students’ creative thinking ability within economics learning. Implications: The findings highlight that developing creative thinking requires not only motivational aspects but also the reinforcement of self-efficacy and the improvement of teacher instructional practices, supporting a more holistic and integrated learning approach. Highlights• Integration of psychological and pedagogical variables explains student creativity patterns• Instructional competence shows measurable contribution to idea generation processes• Joint variable interaction provides stronger explanatory model than single-factor analysis KeywordsSelf Efficacy; Teacher Instructional Skills; Learning Motivation; Creative Thinking Ability; Economics Learning

Abstract

Critical reasoning skills are an essential cognitive dimension in Economics education. However, empirical findings reveal a deficit in student capabilities, particularly in the problem analysis indicator. Responding to this gap, this quasi-experimental study (pretest-posttest control group) examines the effectiveness of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) Cooperative Learning model assisted by modified domino cards in enhancing critical thinking. The sample was selected via purposive sampling, designating class XI-4 as the experimental group and XI-3 as the control. Data from validated tests were analyzed using the Paired Sample t-Test and N-Gain Score. The results indicated that the experimental group's achievement was significantly superior (p=0.000 < 0.05). The experimental N-Gain reached 65.36% (fairly effective), outperforming the control class at 52.16% (less effective). The most distinctive cognitive improvements in the experimental class occurred in problem-solving (90.62%) and concept connection (90.17%). In conclusion, the integration of TGT and domino gamification effectively breaks instructional passivity, transforms learning into a dynamic analytical discourse, and comprehensively improves students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are a 21st-century skill that is very important for students. However, in learning practice, critical thinking skills are still low. This is based on the fact that students' thinking skills are still at a basic level. This condition requires learning innovations that can familiarize and improve critical thinking skills. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) learning model assisted by snakes and ladders media to improve students' critical thinking skills. This research method is a quasi-experimental design with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research sample was X-1 as the experimental class and class X-2 students as the control class at Ky Ageng Giri High School. The experimental class was treated with STAD learning assisted by snakes and ladders, while the control class was treated with conventional learning. In each class, a pre-test and post-test were conducted. Data collection techniques used tests, observations, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent sample t-tests, paired sample tests, and N-gain to determine the increase in students' critical thinking skills. The results showed that the initial abilities of both groups before treatment were the same. The paired sample test revealed a significant difference between the learning model treatments before and after the experiment. The N-gain value in the experimental class was 0.8572, indicating that the use of the snakes and ladders-assisted STAD learning model in the experimental class was highly effective. This finding demonstrates that snakes and ladders-assisted STAD learning can improve students' critical thinking skills. Therefore, the snakes and ladders-assisted STAD learning model can be used as an alternative solution for innovative learning in economics to improve students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to introduce strategies and develop digital businesses on an ongoing basis that remain Islamic based to be able to continue to compete in the current era of digital disruption. The methods used are Literature review papers (LRPs). The results of the study explain that there are several appropriate strategies to be used as a reference for digital sharia business, namely products sold, product promotion, alternative payments that are in accordance with rules and do not violate religious prohibitions (riba, gharar, maysir, and haram). The development of the right strategy of the selected sharia products must be precisely in accordance with market demand. The pricing strategy that is set must also meet the requirements, namely the need for openness from the seller to the buyer, which is explained in detail the price components on the online trading platform, or on the online marketplace. The sustainability of the digital sharia business sector in the next few years is a matter of great interest, and this research can be used as a reference for strategies to continue to survive and develop.

Abstract

Critical thinking is a crucial skill required in 21st-century learning, particularly in economics. Students are expected to analyze problems, analyze information, and make informed choices. Many students still demonstrate inadequate levels of critical thinking due to limited self-control during learning, inefficient use of digital learning resources, and an unsupportive learning environment. Previous studies have generally examined these elements individually, yet research examining the combined impact of self-regulation, YouTube teaching resources, and the learning environment on students' critical reasoning in economics is limited. Therefore, this study seeks to examine the partial and overall impact of self-regulation, YouTube usage, and the learning environment on students' critical thinking skills in economics. This study employed a quantitative method with an exploratory research design. The population comprised all eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Tengaran, while the sample was drawn through proportional random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires using a Likert scale instrument. Before processing the data, the measurement tools were tested for validity and reliability. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests, and multiple linear regression analysis to determine the relationships between variables. Research shows that self-regulation during learning, YouTube usage, and the learning environment, both partially and simultaneously, have a positive impact on students' critical thinking skills in economics. Therefore, educators and institutions are encouraged to design creative learning tactics that encourage independent learning, maximize the use of digital resources, and foster a cooperative and reflective learning environment to enhance students' critical thinking skills.
