Abstract

The coastal areas of Semarang City have experienced land conversion due to development activities that threaten mangrove sustainability in recent years. The urgency of this research is the need to monitor mangrove density levels to be used as input in its management. The purpose of this study is to analyze changes in mangrove density levels and the occurrence of abrasion in time series using the Google Earth Engine cloud computing model. The research method used visual interpretation and spectral transformation of NDVI and MNDWI to identify spatial distribution, mangrove density and abrasion. The results showed that there was a significant decrease in mangrove area in 2019-2023 with an area of 111.74 hectares. Furthermore, the level of mangrove density is quite dynamic, especially for high density with a decrease in area from 2019 - 2023 with an area of 260.25 hectares, besides that the decline in high density mangroves also occurred in 2015 - 2023 with a decrease in area of 38.73 hectares. Abrasion in the research location was identified in 2 coastal villages, namely Mangunharjo Village with abrasion along 0.88 km (2015 - 2023) and Tugurejo Village with abrasion along 1.04 km, where both areas also experienced a decrease in mangrove area at a high-density level. In conlusion, there has been a decrease in the area and density of mangroves in the study site, one of which has an impact on abrasion.

Abstract

Pembangunan Kawasan Industri Terpadu Batang (KITB) bertujuan mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi dan membuka lapangan kerja baru, namun menyebabkan alih fungsi lahan besar yang memengaruhi aspek sosial, ekonomi, dan lingkungan. Penelitian ini menganalisis dampak spasial KITB, termasuk proses, pola, dan struktur spasial serta implikasinya bagi perencanaan tata ruang. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif berbasis keruangan dengan analisis deskriptif, menggunakan data dari interpretasi citra satelit Sentinel-2A SR, survei lapangan, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis Average Nearest Neighbor (ANN) mengindikasikan pola alih fungsi lahan yang mengelompok (Z-score < -2.58), terutama di wilayah penyangga KITB. 15.1% (3.226.16 Ha) lahan mengalami alih fungsi lahan yang terjadi baik pada lahan vegetatif seperti hutan tanaman dan semak belukar maupun lahan terbangun, lahan terbuka, perairan, dan pertanian. Ketidaksesuaian dengan RTRW disebabkan tumpang tindih kebijakan dan lemahnya pengawasan. Maka diperlukan intervensi kebijakan untuk meminimalkan dampak negatif dan mendorong penyesuaian RTRW yang berimbang dengan pengendalian konversi lahan.

Abstract

Industrial areas in Indonesia are increasing every year with a total of 136 industrial estates in 2024, of which 61.76% are in Java, such as Kendal Industrial Estate (KIE) with an increase in built-up land of 289.52 hectares (2015-2017). The problem is that the development was carried out by converting vegetation cover. The purpose of the study was to analyze the impact of the increase in built-up land on the environmental quality index around Kendal Industrial Estate. Research method with supervised classification Random Forest method and spectral transformation Risk Screening Enviromental Indicators with indicators of greenness index, humidity Index, dryness Index and heat index with Principal Component Analysis technique. The results showed that built-up land around KIE increased by 894.17 hectares which resulted in a decrease in vegetation cover of 184.71 hectares (2015-2024), this phenomenon had an impact on increasing low-level RSEI by around 2,028.31 hectares (2015-2024). The regression results show that the increase in built-up land and the reduction of vegetation cover have an impact on the decline in environmental quality in the study area. The contribution of the research results can be used as a database for regulation of land use change restrictions.

Abstract

Mangrove degradation and socio-economic vulnerability in the Kendal coast require an integrated approach. The study used ecological surveys (mangrove vegetation analysis, avifauna) and socio-economic (n=186 households). Integrated Coastal Management (ICM) analysis and model were developed using a dynamic approach, encompassing problem identification, conceptual model formulation, and validation preparation. 14 mangrove species (H' index = 1.58–1.80) and 61 bird species (H' = 3.50) were found. Community participation reached 97%, but women's participation was only 3%, with 58% of households being landless and 61% unproductive land. Infrastructure was severely damaged (36% of roads) and 97% of the area was flooded. The dynamic model of ICM in Kendal Regency highlighted coastal biodiversity conservation, enhanced community capacity and participation, and secure land ownership as the primary drivers of sustainable coastal governance. Despite ongoing pressures from coastal hazards and urban expansion, biodiversity conservation remained the pivotal intervention, sustaining ecosystem integrity, improving household incomes, and reinforcing socio-economic resilience through positive feedback loops within the coastal social–ecological system.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang mitigasi bencana tanah longsor pada siswa sekolah dasar menggunakan media model simulasi 3D. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif yang berlokasi di SDN Sadeng 03 di Kecamatan Gunungpati Kota Semarang. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa di SDN Sadeng 03, dengan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 5 SDN Sadeng 03. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan teknik angket, tes dan observasi yang kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapat hasil sebagai berikut, 1) desain media Model Simulasi 3D Bencana Tanah Longsor tersusun atas tiga tahap yaitu tahap pendefinisian, tahap perancangan dan tahap pembuatan media 2) uji keberterimaan dihasilkan penilaian dari ahli media dihasilkan nilai 74% pada kategori layak dan penilaian  tujuh orang praktisi dihasilkan nilai 88% pada kategori sangat layak. 3) uji efektivitas pada aspek evaluasi pembelajaran dihasilkan nilai N-gain sebesar 0,56 yang dimaknai efektivitas media cukup baik dan pada respon siswa dihasilkan nilai rata-rata 87% yang dimaknai media sangat baik untuk siswa sekolah dasar. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan media diterima dan efektif dalam pembelajaran.Abstract:  This study aims to improve knowledge about landslide disaster mitigation among elementary school students using 3D simulation model media. This research used quantitative approach located at SDN Sadeng 03 in Gunungpati Sub-district, Semarang City. The population in this study were students in SDN Sadeng 03, with the sample used in this study were 5th grade students of SDN Sadeng 03. Data were collected using questionnaire, test and observation techniques which were then analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the study, the following results were obtained, 1) the media design of the 3D Simulation Model of Landslide Disaster is composed of three stages, namely the defining stage, the design stage and the media manufacturing stage 2) the acceptance test resulted in an assessment from media experts resulting in a value of 74% in the feasible category and an assessment of seven practitioners resulting in a value of 88% in the very feasible category. 3) the effectiveness test in the aspect of learning evaluation is very important. 3) effectiveness test in the aspect of learning evaluation resulted in an N-gain value of 0.56 which is interpreted as the effectiveness of the media is quite good and in student responses an average value of 87% which is interpreted as very good media for elementary school students. Based on the results of research and discussion, it can be concluded that the media is acceptable and effective in learning.

Abstract

Tambakrejo Village is one of the areas in Semarang City that is often affected by flooding, administratively it is included in Gayamsari District. Being in a coastal area with an elevation close to sea level means that the Tambakrejo District area has the risk of flooding and tidal problems, where tidal disasters have so far submerged more than 2.5 hectares of land with 25 residents' houses lost. Flood and tidal conditions directly or indirectly affect all aspects of people's lives. The impact of disasters results in damage to facilities and infrastructure, disruption of social activities, education and public health. If this continues, it is feared that it will increase community vulnerability and decline. The aim of the DPIK program is to increase community capacity to have the independent ability to adapt in facing potential disasters and other impacts of climate change, through the Smart and Disaster Resilient Village movement.
