Abstract

Information security is a crucial aspect of information technology management, especially in government institutions such as the Department of Communication and Informatics (DISKOMINFO), which often faces challenges such as cyberattacks, lack of formal documentation, and limited resources in managing risks and securing data. These challenges hinder the organization’s ability to protect sensitive information and maintain public trust. This study evaluates the maturity level of information security governance at DISKOMINFO of Sampang Regency using the COBIT 5 framework, focusing on three domains: APO12 (Manage Risk), APO13 (Manage Security), and DSS05 (Manage Security Services). The method used is a case study with a descriptive qualitative approach through interviews and documentation. The results show that all three processes are at Level 1 (Performed Process), with 40.34% in the Partially Achieved category for APO12, 84.60% in the Largely Achieved category for APO13, and 57.23% in the Largely Achieved category for DSS05, where processes are carried out but not formally documented or standardized. There is a lack of monitoring and continuous improvement, making the governance reactive rather than proactive. Improvements are needed through development of policies, formal procedures, and more organized, sustainable security controls. Increasing employee awareness and allocating resources for information security are also critical. This research provides novelty by evaluating three COBIT 5 domains (APO12, APO13, DSS05) in a local government context, which has rarely been done. The findings offer a comprehensive maturity mapping as a strategic reference for improving information security governance in local government institutions.

Abstract

The rapid evolution of digital technology has significantly transformed many sectors, especially financial services, with the rise of fintech innovations such as Flip. Flip offers interbank transfer services free of administrative fees, simplifying transactions like e-wallet top-ups, bill payments, and international money transfers, attracting a substantial user base. However, despite its popularity, users have raised concerns about transaction delays, slow customer service responses, and design issues, highlighting a gap between user expectations and actual service delivery. This study aims to evaluate user satisfaction with the Flip application using the End User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) model, which assesses satisfaction across five key dimensions: Content, Accuracy, Format, Ease of Use, and Timeliness. Data from 415 respondents were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to investigate the factors influencing satisfaction. The findings reveal that user satisfaction with Flip is generally positive, with significant impacts from Content, Format, Ease of Use, and Timeliness. However, Accuracy, while positively related, had no statistically significant effect. These results emphasize the need for improving transaction timeliness and refining content and interface formats to enhance the user experience. The study provides essential insights for Flip developers to enhance service quality and offers a data-driven foundation for future research on fintech applications.

Abstract

This study investigates factors influencing the adoption and utilization of ShopeePay, a digital wallet integrated within the Shopee e-commerce platform, among Generation Z women in Indonesia. Given this demographic group's active engagement in digital transactions, identifying key behavioral factors underlying their adoption of mobile payment technologies is essential. Guided by the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), this research examines core determinants of behavioral intention toward ShopeePay, additionally incorporating trust, perceived security, and network externalities into the analytical framework. Employing a quantitative research methodology, the study utilized an online structured survey involving 160 female respondents aged between 18 and 27 years who actively use ShopeePay. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) through SmartPLS version 4.1.0.9. Findings demonstrate that performance expectancy, social influence, and perceived security significantly and positively affect behavioral intention to adopt ShopeePay. Trust indirectly influences intention through its impact on performance expectancy. Interestingly, effort expectancy and facilitating conditions did not demonstrate significant direct effects on behavioral intention. These results underscore that Gen Z female users prioritize application performance, social recommendations, and perceived safety when selecting digital payment solutions. Practically, these insights inform e-wallet developers and marketing professionals in designing targeted functionalities and marketing strategies aligned with user expectations and digital habits. Moreover, this study contributes to existing academic literature on mobile payment adoption and offers strategic implications for enhancing user acceptance, particularly among young female consumers in Indonesia.

Abstract

User Experience (UX) in E-Learning systems plays a critical role in fostering student engagement and improving learning effectiveness. Evaluating UX is essential to address challenges such as reduced learning motivation, poor navigation, and low interface appeal, all of which can hinder educational outcomes. This study aims to evaluate the UX of students using the E-Learning system at SMP Muhammadiyah 17 Surabaya by employing the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ), which measures six dimensions: Attractiveness, Perspicuity, Efficiency, Dependability, Stimulation, and Novelty. A total of 180 students were selected using Slovin’s formula. Data were analyzed using the UEQ Data Analysis Tool (v10) through descriptive statistics and reliability testing (Cronbach’s alpha > 0.70). The results indicate that the dimensions of Attractiveness (M = 1.43), Efficiency (M = 1.35), Dependability (M = 1.43), and Stimulation (M = 1.34) received high scores and exceeded the average benchmark, indicating that the system is engaging, efficient, reliable, and motivating for users. The Perspicuity dimension (M = 1.42) was rated moderately high, though improvements are needed to better support the understanding of complex materials. In contrast, the Novelty dimension (M = 0.28) scored low, suggesting a lack of innovation and freshness in the interface. These findings highlight the pedagogical significance of UX in enhancing student engagement and online learning effectiveness. Developing more innovative features such as gamified elements or adaptive feedback is recommended to increase the appeal and sustained use of the E-Learning system in alignment with educational goals.

Abstract

Reading remains a fundamental cognitive activity, even in the digital era. E-books offer an accessible and flexible alternative to printed materials, especially in academic settings. However, their acceptance among students varies significantly. This study aims to investigate the key factors influencing students’ acceptance of e-books using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Specifically, it examines the effects of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude toward e-books, innovativeness, and perceived risk on behavioral intention. A quantitative method was employed by distributing structured questionnaires to 400 students at UPN "Veteran" Jawa Timur. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The findings show that perceived usefulness and attitude toward e-books are the strongest predictors of e-book acceptance. Perceived ease of use and innovativeness also have a significant positive impact, whereas perceived risk shows no meaningful influence. These results suggest that students are primarily motivated by the benefits and positive experiences associated with e-book usage, rather than concerns over potential drawbacks. The practical implications of this study are substantial for higher education institutions. By enhancing the perceived usefulness and usability of digital resources, universities can foster greater adoption of e-books. Moreover, integrating student-centered design and promoting digital innovativeness can support more effective implementation of e-learning policies. This research provides actionable insights for educators and policymakers seeking to optimize digital learning strategies in academic environments.

Abstract

Digital transformation requires public services to operate more efficiently, transparently, and inclusively. In Indonesia, this shift is embodied in the Digital Population Identity (IKD) system, developed to modernize demographic administration and provide citizens with easier access to identity services. Despite achieving millions of downloads, IKD adoption still encounters notable challenges, including technical issues, complex interfaces, limited internet access in rural areas, and low levels of digital literacy. This study explores the factors influencing IKD adoption through the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). Using a quantitative design, data were collected from 408 valid respondents through purposive sampling and analyzed with Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The findings reveal that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and social influence significantly affect user behavior, while facilitating conditions show no significant impact. The results emphasize that social support and perceived usability are stronger drivers of digital identity adoption compared to technical support, highlighting the importance of addressing user experience and societal influence. The study contributes theoretically by extending UTAUT in an e-government context, methodologically through SEM-PLS application, and practically by offering recommendations for improving system design, strengthening digital literacy initiatives, and ensuring IKD reliability. Future research is encouraged to incorporate additional constructs, such as habit or hedonic motivation, and to investigate adoption patterns across diverse regional settings.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has encouraged the transformation of financial services in the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sector, one of which is through the use of the Livin’ Merchant by Mandiri application. However, the adoption process of digital services still faces several challenges, such as low technological literacy, risks associated with application usage, and low trust in system security and banking institutions. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the adoption behavior of Livin’ Merchant among MSME actors in Greater Surabaya using the modified Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2) model with the addition of perceived security, perceived risk, institution trust, and technology trust variables. This study employed a quantitative approach through a survey of 521 MSME actors using Livin’ Merchant in Greater Surabaya. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Square-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) with the assistance of SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results indicate that performance expectancy, social influence, hedonic motivation, price value, perceived security, and institution trust have a positive and significant effect on behavioral intention. In addition, facilitating conditions have a positive and significant effect on use behavior, while perceived risk has a negative and significant effect on use behavior. This study concludes that application benefits, social support, system security, and trust in banking institutions are important factors in increasing the adoption of Livin’ Merchant among MSME actors in Greater Surabaya.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has driven PT Pertamina to launch the MyPertamina application as a solution to support the efficient and transparent distribution of subsidized fuel. However, the implementation of this application has encountered various technical complaints from users, including bugs, registration difficulties, and transaction issues, raising concerns about public acceptance of the technology. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the acceptance of the MyPertamina application using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), which is modified by incorporating external variables such as perceived trust, perceived risk, perceived security, and service quality. A quantitative approach using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed to analyze data from 391 respondents. The findings indicate that service quality, perceived usefulness, and perceived trust significantly affect the attitude toward use, which subsequently influences the intention to use the application. In contrast, perceived ease of use, perceived risk, and perceived security were found to have no significant effect on the attitude toward use. These results provide strategic insights for the development and improvement of MyPertamina's digital services to enhance public acceptance.

Abstract

Digital transformation has become a strategic step to improve operational efficiency, particularly in human resource management. PT XYZ, which has implemented HRMS, faces challenges such as system errors that disrupt the company's mission to enhance employee welfare. This study aims to evaluate the success of HRMS implementation at PT XYZ using the DeLone and McLean (2003) model, which includes six dimensions: system quality, information quality, service quality, usage, user satisfaction, and net benefits. A quantitative approach with PLS-SEM is used, and data is obtained through a survey. The sample consists of 211 respondents selected through simple random sampling. The analysis results show that system quality, information quality, and service quality significantly affect usage and user satisfaction, which contribute to the net benefits experienced by the organization. However, system quality does not significantly affect user satisfaction, and net benefits do not significantly affect usage. These findings provide insights for PT XYZ to improve the quality of HRMS and optimize system usage.

Abstract

Interpreting physiological health data and self-reported nutrition records often poses a computational challenge for non-expert users. Therefore, this study aims to conduct a comparative analysis of fitness level classification modeling and predictive calorie regression evaluation. Both are integrated into a unified health tracking ecosystem called FitTrack AI. The performance of the Random Forest, XGBoost, and Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithms was comprehensively compared for multi-class classification. Meanwhile, calorie burn estimates were evaluated using the Random Forest Regressor. As a holistic system, this ecosystem is also supported by body weight projection analysis (Linear Regression), dietary pattern mining (Apriori), and an automated logging interface based on a Large Language Model (Groq API). Test results show that XGBoost is the best classification model, with an accuracy rate of 76.37%, outperforming other algorithms. In the calorie prediction regression test, the model achieved highly accurate performance with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.996. In terms of ecosystem functionality, the interactive virtual assistant (FitBot) recorded a 90.0% success rate in executing tool calls for data entry and achieved a System Usability Scale (SUS) score of 90.1 (Very Good category). Overall, this multi-model analytical approach has proven to be robust and effective in translating the complexity of biological data into comprehensive and personalized digital health insights.
