Abstract

Tujuan dalam penelitian adalah untuk menganalisis model sosiokognitif berbantuan multimedia interaktif dalam pembelajaran menulis teks deskripsi di sekolah dasar. Teks deskripsi adalah salah satu jenis teks yang dipelajari siswa di sekolah dasar. Teks deskripsi memberikan gambaran yang jelas mengenai suatu objek atau suasana. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Dalam penelitian ini, pembelajaran menulis teks deskripsi di kelas 2 SD dilakukan dengan menerapkan Model Sosiokognitif Berbantuan Multimedia Interaktif. Pembelajaran dilakukan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri dari dua pertemuan, terhadap 90 orang siswa kelas 2 SD. Analisis statistik deskriptif kemudian digunakan untuk menilai kemampuan siswa menulis teks deskripsi sederhaan. Penilaian kemampuan siswa didasarkan pada tiga aspek, yaitu kejelasan penggambaran (deskripsi), tata bahasa (tanda baca dan struktur kalimat), dan ejaan/kosakata. Hasil temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata kemampuan siswa menulis teks deskripsi sederhana adalah 74 pada siklus I dan 87 pada siklus II. Artinya, penerapan model sosiokognitif berbantuan multimedia interaktif dalam pembelajaran menulis teks deskripsi di kelas 2 SD dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa menulis teks deskripsi sederhana. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, direkomendasikan untuk mengembangkan model SKBMI agar dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran membaca/menulis di tingkat yang lebih lanjut dengan teks yang lebih kompleks.

Abstract

Reading comprehension is an important skill that every student must have. Reading is one of the most difficult and challenging learning activities, therefore many students find reading difficult. This study is motivated by the low reading ability of elementary school students which is indicated by the low motivation of students to read. This study aims to find out: 1) the improvement of students' reading skills before and after using the SQ3R learning strategy with the help of digital comic media; 2) the effect of the SQ3R strategy using digital comic media on improving the reading skills of elementary school students. The type of research used is quantitative research with a one group pretest posttest design. The sample of this study amounted to 24 students consisting of grade VB students studying in SDS IT Cendekia. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that: 1) there is an increase in students' reading skills before and after the application of the SQ3R learning strategy using digital comic media; 2) the effect of the SQ3R strategy supported by digital comic media on grade VB reading comprehension. The reported impact is 36.2% and the rest is determined by other variables.   Keywords: digital comics media, reading comprehension ability, SQ3R strategy

Abstract

This research is backgrounded by the leak of second grade students of an elementary school to beginning reading skills. This research has a purpose to find out the effect of the Structural Analytic Synthetic (SAS) method assisted with powerpoint media to students beginning reading skills on second grade students of an elementary school in Purwakarta Regency. The research used was pre-experiment research with one-group pretest-posttest design. Data collection techniques in this research used tests (pretest and posttest) and non-tests (observation). The sample of this research was 23 students on second grade class of an elementary school in Purwakarta Regency. Descriptive statistical data analysis was carried out on pretest and posttest total score data. After treatment, it was found that there was an increase in the average score, the increase in the average score was large enough, from 72.39 to 82.17. Furthermore, a t-test (paired samples test) was carried out on the total pretest and posttest scores. It can be seen that there is an effect of implementing Structural Analytic Synthetic (SAS) method assisted with powerpoint media to students beginning reading skills as seen from the significant value of <0.001 which is less than 0.05, then there is an effect of iplementing structural analytic synthetic (SAS) method assisted with powerpoint media to students beginning reading skills. Therefore, it can be concluded that the structural analytic synthetic (SAS) method assisted with powerpoint media there is an effect to students beginning reading skills.   Keywords: beginning reading skills, powerpoint media, Structural Analytic Synthetic (SAS) method

Abstract

This research has several objectives, namely: 1) to determine the improvement in narrative text listening skills of students who receive learning using the SAVI model assisted by media literacy cloud and students who receive learning using the problem based learning model; 2) determine the effect of implementing the SAVI learning model assisted by media literacy cloud on students' narrative text listening skills. The method used is an experiment with a quasi-experimental design in the form of a nonequivalent control group. The research sample was students in class III A and class III B in one of the elementary schools in Subang Regency with a total of 20 students in each class. Data before and after learning was obtained through student listening skills test instruments. The research obtained results that the SAVI model assisted by media literacy cloud improved students' narrative text listening skills as evidenced by the results of the n-gain test which obtained an average of 0.5898 in the medium category. The influence of the SAVI model assisted by media literacy cloud on narrative text listening skills is shown by the results of the t test which gets a significance value of <0.05, so H0 is accepted so that a significant difference is obtained.

Abstract

The aim of this research is of course to find out how much influence the make a match type cooperative model assisted by digital literacy cloud book media has on students' ability to read and understand narrative texts. Researchers used a quasi-experimental type of research with a nonequivalent control group design. The subjects in this research were 22 class IVA students and 22 class IVB students. The instrument used in this research was a test of the ability to read and understand narrative text. The results obtained from the influence of the make a match type cooperative model assisted by digital literacy cloud book media on students' ability to read and understand narrative text were 34.1%. So it can be concluded that students who received the make a match type cooperative learning model assisted by digital literacy cloud book media were better than students who received the think pair and share type cooperative learning model

Abstract

Berdasarkan data pra siklus, keterampilan menyimak siswa kelas IV SDN 5 Sindangkasih tergolong rendah. Maka dari itu, peneliti melakukan tindakan dengan menerapkan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan media Audio Visual. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas dengan desain Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart sebanyak 2 siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukan peningkatan pada keterampilan menyimak siswa setelah diterapkannya model PBL berbantuan media audio visual yang diperoleh dari hasil aktivitas siswa dan guru serta hasil belajar siswa. Hasil pada Siklus I memperoleh rata-rata sebesar 66,58 dengan persentase keberhasilan belajar 47,82%. Siklus II memperoleh rata-rata di angka 77,71 dengan persentase keberhasilan belajar 82,61%. Berdasarkan hasil akhir pada siklus II bahwa penerapan model PBL berbantuan media audio visual dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menyimak siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini didasarkan pada siswa yang mengalami kesulitan membaca permulaan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa membaca permulaan sebelum menggunakan language experience approach berbantuan media bigbook; kemampuan siswa untuk membaca permulaan setelah menggunakan language experience approach berbantuan media bigbook; dan pengaruh language experience approach berbantuan media bigbook terhadap kemampuan siswa dalam membaca permulaan. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas II SD di Purwakarta, dan jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen yang tidak   sebanding dengan kelompok kontrol. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design, dengan sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas II SD di Purwakarta. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan: 1) nilai rata-rata pada pretest kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol berkategori rendah, dan tidak tada perbedaan nilai rata-ratanya;2) setelah diterapkan language experience approach berbantuan media gambar berseri, terdapat perbedaan pada hasil posttest kelas eskperimen dan kelas kontrol. Kemudian terdapat peningkatan nilai posttest pada kelas eskperimen. Hal tersebut dilihat dari hasil analisis deskriptif dan analisis inferensial, namun nilai rata-rata masih berkategori rendah; 3) Terdapat pengaruh yang kuat terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa setelah menerapkan language experience approach berbantuan media bigbook.

Abstract

Teachers' understanding of how to improve students' reading skills and the lack of attention to measuring students' reading results, which causes students to need more information on their reading results. This study analysed the correlation between reading comprehension ability, metacognitive components, and inferential ability using digital big books. This research method uses a factorial analysis design to see the role of metacognitive variables and inferential ability on reading comprehension. This study involved 200 elementary school students from 4 schools. The sample was taken randomly. The data collection method used was a test. In contrast, the data collection instrument for students' metacomprehension skills was measured using the ESCOLA reading awareness scale, commonly used in students aged 10-15. The reading awareness measurement scale consists of 55 multiple-choice questions to assess three dimensions of metacomprehension, namely planning, monitoring, and evaluation. The data analysis used in this study was the Bonferroni analysis. The researcher selects the data obtained from the reading awareness scale, reading comprehension test, and its acquisition before analysis. The results showed that individual reading comprehension ability can predict metacomprehension accuracy. This study implies that teachers can consider these aspects while optimizing the role of these variables to improve students' reading comprehension skills.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Write Around learning model assisted by digital image media on students' narrative writing skills in elementary school. This experimental research used a pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects were two classes: the experimental class, which used the Write Around model assisted by digital image media based on Canva, and the control class, which applied the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. The results show that the Write Around model assisted by digital image media is effective in improving students' narrative writing skills. This is evident from the average score increase from 7.2 in the pretest to 18.3 in the posttest in the experimental class, while the control class only reached 13.6 in the posttest. Statistical tests also showed a significant difference between the experimental and control classes, with the Write Around model having a greater impact on students' writing skills. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the use of an innovative learning model assisted by digital media, specifically Canva-based digital images, can be an effective solution to enhance students' literacy skills, particularly in narrative writing.

Abstract

This study developed a learning model to improve students’ early reading skills in Indonesia. The model is based on social cognitive learning theory and is implemented using interactive multimedia. The research method uses Design-Based Research (DBR) and the subjects are 195 first and second graders of an elementary school in Bandung, West Java. The findings of the study show that social cognitive learning can be integrated and implemented through interactive multimedia and that interactive-multimedia-assisted social cognitive model (IMAS Model) can improve early reading skills. Students’ average early reading skill scores were measured using Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA) instrument before and after intervention to see the effectiveness of the model. Pre-test – post-test results comparison showed that students’ average early reading scores increased after learning using IMAS Model. Students’ average scores of reading letters, reading syllables, reading words, reading sentences, and reading comprehension skills at pre-test were 78.06, 67.06, 60.92, 55.21, and 44.95, respectively. These scores respectively increased to 92.71, 92.45, 88.58, 74.60, and 87.08 at post-test, indicating that IMAS Model is effective to increase early reading skills.
