Abstract

This research is motivated by the ability of independence in children at Khadijah Al-Kubro Kindergarten has not developed optimally. The problem in this study is “Is there an increase in independence by applying the habituation method to children in IT Khadijak Al Kubro Kindergarten?”. The purpose of the study was to determine the increase in the ability of independence by applying the habituation method at Khadijah Alkubro Kindergarten Bangkinang Kota. This research method is classroom action research (PTK) which is carried out 2 cycles. This research was conducted from July 15, 2024 - July 25, 2024. The subjects in this study were children aged 5-6 years at Khadijah Al-Kubro Kindergarten, namely 15 children. Data collection in this study used observation sheets and documentation. The results of this study showed that in cycle I there was an increase to 64% and in cycle II there was an increase to 83%. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of habituation methods can improve the ability of independence in children aged 5-6 years at Khadijah Al-Kubro Kindergarten.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan media audio visual terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa sekolah dasar. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain non equivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IV SDN 001 Air Tiris dengan sampel kelas IVB sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas IVC sebagai kelas eksperimen yang diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa tes, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil analisis data diperoleh bahwa rata-rata kemampuan pemahaman konsep menggunakan model inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan media audio visual lebih tinggi (86,16) daripada menggunakan model konvensional (76,79). Hal tersebut dibuktikan dari hasil uji-t dengan taraf signifikansi 5% diperoleh nilai sig (2-tailed) (0,002) < α (0,05) sehingga Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa model inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan media audio visual berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa.

Abstract

This research aims to determine whether there is an effect of using video as media on the students’ listening comprehension in an online class in the academic year 2020/2021. This research is pre-experimental. It involved 24 students in class. The class was taught by using video as media as the treatment in the class. The data were analyzed quantitatively by using the T-test formula. The result shows that the students listening comprehension in the post-test are higher than pre-test. The data analysis can be seen in many students who get a good score in the class by using video. It can be concluded that video in teaching listening comprehension in an online class is an influential media. As aresult, ??????is 7,03 and ??????is 1,68. In this case, the average score is 72. The use of video for listening comprehension is one of the alternative media in online class.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance the learning motivation of fourth-grade students at UPT SDN 019 Muara Uwai in the subject of Pancasila Education through the implementation of the Contextual Teaching and Learning model assisted by the Canva application. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method conducted in two cycles, each consisting of two meetings. Research instruments included teaching modules, observation sheets for teacher and student activities, and a learning motivation questionnaire. The results showed an increase in students' learning motivation from a pre-action rate of 46.6%, to 63.33% in the first cycle, and reaching 83.3% in the second cycle. This improvement was evident in students’ active participation in discussions, presentations, and enthusiasm for using Canva’s visual media. The implementation of the Contextual Teaching and Learning model assisted by Canva made learning more engaging, contextual, and relevant to students’ lives, positively impacting both motivation and learning outcomes. The study recommends the use of the Contextual Teaching and Learning model and interactive digital media such as Canva as innovative alternatives in Pancasila Education at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low critical thinking ability in the learning of science class V UPT SDN 003. Bangkinang. One solution to overcome this problem is by applying the Problem Based Instruction (PBI) learning model. The purpose of this study is to describe the improvement of critical thinking ability in science learning by applying the Problem Based Instruction (PBI) model of class V students of UPT SDN 003 Bangkinang. The research method is classroom action research (CAR) which is carried out in two cycles. Each cycles consists of two meetings and four stages, namely, planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 22 class V students. Data and collection techniques were observation and documentation. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be seen that the increase in the results of students’ critical thinking abilities after the action, the average completeness of the results of critical thinking abilities was only 68 whith classical completeness of 40,90%, then in cycle I meeting I increased to 72 whith classical completeness of 50%, then in cycle I meeting II increased to 75 whith classical clompeteness of 59,10%. Furthermore, cycle II meeting I increased to 80 with classical clompeteness of 72,72% and cycle II meeting II increased to 83 with classical clompeteness 86,36%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the applicatition of the Problem Based Instruction (PBI) model can improve crotical thinking skills in science learning for fifth grade students of UPT SDN 003 Bangkinang.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low critical thinking skills of students in grade III of UPT SDN 019 Muara Uwai. The failure to achieve critical thinking indicators can be seen from the tendency of students to be passive, difficulty in expressing opinions, and inability to analyze and solve problems logically. This study aims to improve the critical thinking skills of grade III students of UPT SDN 019 Muara Uwai through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by audio-visual media. This study uses a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach which is carried out in two cycles, with stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 25 students. Data collection instruments include observation sheets, critical thinking ability tests, and documentation. The results of this study can be concluded that students' critical thinking skills have increased in each cycle, as indicated by an increase in the percentage of students in cycle I meeting I reaching (44%), meeting II increasing to (52%), while in cycle II meeting I (76%) and meeting II increasing to (84%). Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the PBL model assisted by audio-visual media can improve students' critical thinking skills on the material of my school rules in class II of UPT SDN 019 Muara Uwai.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning concentration of fifth-grade students at UPT SDN 009 Simpang Kubu. This study aims to describe the planning, implementation, and improvement of the Brain Gym method in enhancing student learning concentration. The research method used is classroom action research. This study was conducted in one cycle with two meetings, where each meeting went through four stages namely the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of this study were 15 fifth-grade students of UPT SDN 009 Simpang Kubu, consisting of 7 male students and 8 female students. The research results showed an increase in student learning concentration from the pre-action to cycle 1 meeting 1 by 0,72%. The increase in student learning concentration also showed an increase from cycle 1 meeting 1 to cycle 1 meeting 2 by 4,28%. The conclusion of this study is that there was an overall increase in student learning concentration of 2,86%. The Brain Gym method should continue to be implemented to improve elementary school student learning concentration. Teachers need continuous assistance to implement the Brain Gym method according to the recommended steps.

Abstract

Listening comprehension is a crucial skill in English language learning, yet many university students still face difficulties in understanding spoken texts, particularly in identifying specific information, grasping the main idea, and making inferences. This study aimed to investigate the effect of using podcasts as a learning medium on students’ listening comprehension at the English Language and Education Study Program of the University of Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai. A quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was employed. The participants consisted of 23 first-semester students selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument was a listening comprehension test comprising 30 items measuring three indicators: specific information, gist, and inference. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test due to non-normal data distribution. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ listening comprehension, with the mean score increasing from 47.22 in the pretest to 74.72 in the posttest. The statistical analysis showed a significance value of 0.000 (p 0.05), indicating a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores. These results demonstrate that podcast-based learning has a significant positive effect on improving students’ listening comprehension. Therefore, podcasts can be considered an effective supplementary medium for listening instruction in English language education.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low reading skills of students in learning Indonesian language in grade V of SDN 043 Batu Gajah. One solution to overcome this problem is to use the Jigsaw Learning Model. The purpose of this study was to improve students' reading skills in learning Indonesian language material on pantun. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings and four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research was conducted in May-June 2025. The research subjects were 16 fifth-grade students, comprising 9 males and 7 females. Data collection techniques included documentation, observation, and testing. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: students' pantun reading skills on the Pantun material for Grade V at SDN 043 Batu Gajah were 25% before the intervention, then increased to 37.5% in Cycle I Session I, and further increased to 56.25% in Cycle I Session II. Furthermore, in Cycle II Meeting I, it increased to 68.75%, and in Cycle II Meeting II, it increased to 87.5%. Thus, it can be concluded that using the Jigsaw Learning Model can improve students' pantun reading skills in Indonesian language learning on the pantun material for Grade V at SDN 043 Batu Gajah. Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' independent character through the implementation of differentiated instruction in the Science and Social Studies (IPAS) subject in Grade V at SDN 009 Bangkinang Kota. The background of the study is rooted in the importance of fostering independence in students from an early age and the need for instructional strategies that accommodate student diversity. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study method. The research subjects were 18 fifth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that differentiated instruction supports the development of students' independent character, particularly in four key aspects: time management, resource management, problem-solving, and self-development. However, variations in the level of independence among students were observed, especially in problem-solving and self-development aspects. These results indicate that differentiated instruction provides a positive learning environment for nurturing student independence, although continuous guidance and support are still necessary. This study recommends that teachers continue to develop student-centered instructional strategies to foster more independent and responsible learners.
