Abstract

This study aims to: 1) describe the resilience level of students in the Guidance and Counseling (BK) study program at  X; 2) describe the academic burnout level of students in the BK study program at  X. This study uses a quantitative approach with a population of all active students in the BK study program. The research sample consisted of 14 students from semester II to semester VIII. The data collection technique used an instrument in the form of a questionnaire consisting of a resilience scale and an academic burnout scale. The results of the study indicate that on average, students in the BK Study Program at  X have a high level of resilience. This finding is obtained from the average score of the resilience instrument that exceeds the cut-off/threshold of the CD-RISC or Resilience Scale, as well as the distribution of respondents who are mostly in the high resilience group. This condition indicates that students are relatively able to face academic pressure with a resilient, optimistic attitude, and are able to adapt to difficulties. This result indicates that resilience plays an important role in maintaining students' psychological well-being. Furthermore, the results of the study also show the distribution of academic burnout levels. Of the total respondents, 4 (25%) were in the low category, 9 (56.25%) in the moderate category, and 1 (6.25%) in the high category. The majority of students fell into the moderate category, meaning they experienced moderate levels of burnout symptoms, such as emotional exhaustion, decreased motivation, and feelings of being overwhelmed by work, but had not yet reached the chronic stage. In other words, academic burnout among students is present, but mostly at a moderate level. Based on the research and analysis, it can be concluded that students in the Guidance and Counseling Study Program at  X have relatively high levels of resilience, while academic burnout levels tended to be in the moderate category, with a small percentage experiencing high levels.

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) determine the concentration level of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri Y using classical guidance services with reward techniques; 2) describe the implementation of classical guidance services with reward techniques in improving student learning concentration; and 3) determine the effect of classical guidance services with reward techniques on improving the learning concentration of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri Y. This study uses a quantitative approach with a Pre-Experimental research design. The research population was all 64 eighth grade students of SMP Negeri Y, while the research sample consisted of 22 students selected using the Simple Random Sampling technique. The research instrument used a learning concentration questionnaire that had been adjusted to the research indicators. The data analysis technique used was descriptive analysis to describe the initial and final conditions of student learning concentration, as well as a Paired Sample T-test to determine the significance of the differences before and after the service was given. The results showed that the average student learning concentration before being given classical guidance services was 59.50, while after being given the service increased to 83.05. The results of the Paired Sample T-test showed a sig. The t-value (2-tailed) was 0.000 < 0.05, meaning H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. These findings indicate that the classical guidance service with reward techniques has a significant positive effect on students' learning concentration. Therefore, it can be concluded that classical guidance services with reward techniques have proven effective in improving the learning concentration of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri Y. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference for guidance and counseling teachers in selecting appropriate service strategies to help students improve their learning focus. This study also emphasizes the importance of motivation-based approaches in educational settings.

Abstract

Academic achievement in Indonesia, compared to other countries in the world, is very concerning. Students tend to have low motivation and self-regulation. This certainly has an impact on students' low learning outcomes and academic achievement. This study aims to analyze motivation and self-regulated learning in determining students' academic achievement. This study uses a quantitative method with survey learning and cross-sectional design. The study population was 800 students. The research sample was taken using a random sampling formula, so the sample used was 741 students. The instruments used in data collection were MSLQ and the academic achievement index. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, correlation, and regression. The results showed that all motivation and self-regulation learning indicators had a significant relationship with academic achievement. However, only the value component indicator, the expectancy component, the affective component, and the resource management strategy could significantly predict academic achievement. All components of motivation and self-learning strategies had a significant positive correlation with academic achievement, except for test anxiety, which had a significant negative correlation with students' academic achievement. The implications of this research are that this research provides information regarding motivation and independent learning that must be improved in students so that it can improve students' academic achievement better so that learning objectives can be achieved optimally.

Abstract

This research aims to: 1) To find out students' attitudes towards learning science and science in the Independent Curriculum, students in the independent curriculum for class V at SDN 13 Singkawang, 2) To find out what are the strengths and weaknesses in students' attitudes towards learning science and science in the independent curriculum for class V at SDN 13 Singkawang. . The type of research used is quantitative research with a quantitative descriptive research design. This research was conducted at SDN 13 Singkawang. The subjects in this research were 23 class V students, the principal and class V teachers. The data collection techniques and instruments in this research were interview questionnaires and documentation. The results of the research show that: 1) students' attitudes towards learning science and science in the independent curriculum for class V at SDN 13 Singkawang are in the positive category, 2) the weaknesses and strengths in students' attitudes towards learning science and science in the independent curriculum for class V at SDN 13 Singkawang are that there are students who still listen teachers, listen and don't make a fuss, but there are still some students who have difficulty understanding some of the material, this is caused by several factors, namely internal and external factors. The shortcomings in the attitude of learning social sciences using the independent curriculum are the shortcomings such as teachers' unpreparedness in changing the curriculum, lack of training related to the independent curriculum, lack of infrastructure and facilities, and a less than optimal learning system, while the advantages in students' attitudes towards learning social sciences using the independent curriculum are that teachers' creativity during the learning process increases and teachers are of course free to choose the teaching tools they want.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to 1) find out how the students' speaking skills are before applying the storytelling method of class V of Pelita Kasih Elementary School, Singkawang: 2) find out whether the storytelling method can improve the speaking skills of class V students of Pelita Kasih Elementary School, Singkawang: 3) find out the effect of the storytelling method on the speaking skills of class V students of Pelita Kasih Elementary School, Singkawang. The type of research used is quantitative with a one group pre-test-post-test research design. The population in this study were all class V students of Pelita Kasih Elementary School, Singkawang, totaling 23 students. The results of the study showed that 1) based on. data analysis that in the pretest data, the average score of the speaking skills test was 29. 2) there was an increase between the pretest that did not apply the storytelling method with an average score of 29, while the posttest data score that applied the storytelling method got an average score of 56, so from that there was an increase in the average score of speaking for grade V students. 3) The test of the effect size of the storytelling method on helping students, the results were influential with the effect size results being very high with a value of 3.47 at a distance of ES> 2.0. The implications of this study indicate that the need for a storytelling method in learning Indonesian to improve students' speaking skills so that it can have a positive impact on Indonesian speaking skills. Abstract

This research is motivated by the low interest in learning of fifth grade students in the subject of science at SDN 28 Singkawang, so audio visual media is needed to increase interest in learning. The formulation of the problem includes: 1) Does audio visual media affect students’ interest in learning? 2) How big is the influence? 3) How is the interest in learning of students towards audio visual media? The aim is to determine the influence, magnitude of influence, and level of interest in learning of fifth grade students towards the use of audio visual media in science. The study used a posttest only control design with a population of fifth grade students of SDN 28 Singkawang and a saturated sample technique. Data analysis included a descriptive percentage test, a normality test with Excel, and an independent sample t-test at a significance level of 5%. The results of the study showed: 1) Audio visual media has a significant effect on learning interest, as evidenced by the normality test (X2 count: 0.927 control; 0.932 experiment ˃X2 table: 0.920), homogenity test (f count: 4.21), and hypotesis test (t count: -2.494 ˃t table:2.012), so Ha is accepted. 2) The influence is high with an effect size of 0.70. 3) Students’ learning interest increased from the high category (73%) to very high (80%) after using audio visual media. In conclusion, audio visual media has a significant and large effect on the learning interest of fifth grade students in science at SDN 28 Singkawang.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the values contained in the Rampak Naong Bringen Korong philosophy in learning and knowing the use of Rampak Naong Bringen Korong philosophical values as a learning resource for class IV social studies at MI Al Hidayah. The type of research used is qualitative research with an ethnoscience research design. This research was carried out at MI Al Hidayah Singkawang. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of the research show that: 1) the philosophical values of Rampak Naong Bringen Korong, namely the value of togetherness, the value of balance, and the value of peace, have a huge impact on students and Indonesian local wisdom. So that they don't fade with time, the Rampak Naong Bringen Korong values in social studies learning are taught so that students can understand more about local Indonesian wisdom. 2) the use of Rampak Naong Bringen Korong values as a social studies learning resource at MI Al Hidayah, can be implemented in the social studies subjects KD 3.2 and KD 4.2 in the class IV syllabus for the even semester.

Abstract

Developing entrepreneurship for the students should be done starting from of primary and secondary education. The major obstacles experienced by the school in general are not the inclusion of entrepreneurial material in the curriculum contained in the school subjects. Similarly, the partner in this case MTs Al Fatah Singkawang. The constraints that the partners of the community service Program are the limitation of capital (cost), human resources, technology and also the location of land that is narrow enough to implement activities for students. Program activities are conducted with hydroponic vegetable cultivation and catfish cultivation with Bioflok technology which is carried out by 30 students MTs Al Fatah and also involve the practitioners of hydroponic vegetable cultivation and also fish farming practitioners Catfish with Bioflok system. This activity was held from May 2019 until December 2019. Hydroponic vegetable farming and catfish cultivation activities with Bioflok technology started with the preparation of cultivation media until the process of cultivation. Results show that students can already practice vegetable cultivation in hydroponics and fish farming with BIOMAXI technology and this activity plays a major role in cultivating the entrepreneurship of students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) Untuk mendeskripsikan pola asuh orang tua yang diterapkan pada siswa di SD Wahana Harapan Bangsa Singkawang; 2) Untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan kognitif siswa SD Wahana Harapan Bangsa Singkawang; 3) Untuk menganalisis hubungan antara pola asuh orang tua dan kemampuan kognitif siswa SD Wahana Harapan Bangsa Singkawang. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain korelasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa SD Wahana Harapan Bangsa Singkawang yang berjumlah 67 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah angket pola asuh orang tua dan dokumentasi hasil rapor yang menggambarkan kemampuan kognitif siswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah persentase, nilai rata-rata, dan korelasi rank spearman yang di analisis dengan SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: 1) Pola asuh orang tua pada siswa berdasarkan persepsi siswa dan orang tua sama-sama berada pada kategori baik, dengan indikator pola asuh demokratis berada pada kategori baik, indikator pola asuh permisif berada pada kategori baik, dan indikator pola asuh otoriter berada pada kategori baik; 2) Kemampuan kognitif pada siswa berada pada kategori baik sekali dengan rata-rata nilai rapor yang diperoleh sebesar 84; 3) Terdapat hubungan yang tidak signifikan antara pola asuh orang tua dengan kemampuan kognitif siswa yang dibuktikan dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,347 > 0,05.
