Abstract

Kurikulum Merdeka menekankan pengembangan kompetensi dan kemandirian siswa, sehingga memerlukan model pembelajaran yang mampu mendorong pemahaman konsep secara mendalam. Salah satu pendekatan yang relevan adalah model Discovery Learning. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meninjau dampak penerapan Discovery Learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir aljabar siswa dalam Kurikulum Merdeka. Metode yang digunakan adalah Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan lima langkah sistematis: (1) merumuskan pertanyaan penelitian; (2) memetakan dan menelusuri artikel yang relevan; (3) menyeleksi artikel berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi; (4) menyajikan dan mengolah data; serta (5) menginterpretasikan temuan untuk menarik kesimpulan. Enam artikel jurnal nasional yang diterbitkan pada periode 2019–2024 dipilih dan dianalisis melalui pendekatan Systematic Literature Review. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa Discovery Learning berkontribusi positif terhadap peningkatan berpikir aljabar siswa. Beberapa artikel melaporkan adanya peningkatan capaian belajar secara signifikan, sementara artikel lainnya menyoroti efektivitas tahapan Discovery Learning dalam membangun konsep melalui proses eksplorasi secara mandiri. Model ini juga mendukung pembelajaran kolaboratif yang memperkuat nilai gotong royong dalam pengembangan profil pelajar Pancasila.

Abstract

Salah satu keterampilan yang harus dipelajari selama pelajaran matematika adalah kemampuan spasial. Kemampuan ini membuat siswa lebih mudah memecahkan masalah geometri ruang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan bagaimana gaya belajar VARK (Visual, Aural, Read-Write, and Kinesthetic) mempengaruhi kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah geometri. Studi ini adalah jenis penelitian kualitatif yang menggunakan studi kasus. Sebanyak 12 siswa dipilih berdasarkan angket gaya belajar sebagai subjek penelitian. instrumen yang digunakan adalah lima soal geometri dan pedoman wawancara yang disesuaikan dengan indikator kemampuan spasial. Kondensasi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan adalah beberapa metode analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan model Miles, Huberman, dan Saldana. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa gaya belajar visual, aural, read-write dan kinesthetic berturut-turut memenuhi sebanyak 3 komponen, 2 komponen, 1 komponen dan 4 komponen kemampuan spasial. Secara keseluruhan, temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa gaya belajar visual dan kinesthetic cenderung paling mendukung pengembangan kemampuan spasial dalam konteks pemecahan masalah geometri.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between politeness and cooperation on the learning outcomes of Civic Education (PPKn) in fourth-grade students of MI Mambaul Ulum Kedungkampil. The research approach used is a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The population in this study was all fourth-grade students, with a sample of 52 respondents taken randomly. Data were obtained through a questionnaire on politeness and mutual cooperation attitudes, as well as documentation of Civic Education learning outcomes. The results of data analysis using the Pearson correlation test showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between politeness and learning outcomes (r = 0.288; p = 0.039 < 0.05) and between cooperation attitudes and learning outcomes (r = 0.302; p = 0.030 < 0.05). In addition, there was also a significant relationship between politeness and cooperation attitudes (r = 0.331; p = 0.017 < 0.05). The strength of the relationship between the variables is classified as moderate, indicating that the higher the students' politeness and cooperation, the better their civics learning outcomes. Thus, positive social values ​​such as politeness and cooperation play a significant role in supporting student learning success in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the critical thinking skills of elementary school students in solving problem-based questions. Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in the History subject of the Indonesian Proclamation material. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive design, involving three subjects from grade VI at MI At-Tanwir Bojonegoro, who were selected using a purposive sampling technique based on categories of high, medium, and low critical thinking skills. Data were obtained through tests, interviews, and documentation, and then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of the study indicate that students with high critical thinking skills can fulfill all critical thinking indicators, such as interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference; students with medium abilities only fulfill some of the indicators; while students with low abilities have not demonstrated optimal critical thinking skills. These findings indicate that the application of HOTS questions in history learning in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah needs to be improved so that all students can develop critical thinking skills evenly.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi pada rendahnya minat dan hasil belajar siswa. Indikasinya adalah siswa merasa jenuh, kurang terlibat aktif dalam pembelajaran, tidak tertarik dengan penjelasan guru yang masih menggunakan media konvensional serta hasil belajar siswa yang masih dibawah standar KKM. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi minat dan hasil belajar siswa adalah media yang digunakan. Penelitian ini memanfaatkan media ular tangga berbasis teknologi berupa aplikasi genially. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh penggunaan media ular tangga berbasis genially terhadap minat dan hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas IV di MI Hidayatussibyan Lamongan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan tipe Quasi Eksperimental. Desain yang digunakan adalah Nonequivalent Control Group Design yaitu dengan kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Peneliti menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh yaitu seluruh siswa kelas IV A (eksperimen) dan IV B (Kontrol) yang masing-masing berjumlahh 20 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa angket minat belajar dan soal tes matematika. Teknik analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai T-Hitung > T-Tabel yakni 1,528 > 0,320 untuk minat belajar matematika dan 3,803 > 0,320 untuk hasil belajar matematika siswa. Hal ini berarti bahwa terdapat perbedaan minat belajar dan hasil belajar siswa setelah diterapkannya media pembelajaran ular tangga berbasis genially pada pembelajaran matematika kelas IV di MI Hidayatussibyan Lamongan.

Abstract

Mathematical reasoning ability is an essential aspect of mathematics learning because it helps students understand concepts and draw logical conclusions. However, many studies have shown that this ability remains low due to learning that is overly focused on procedures. Therefore, it is necessary to use engaging learning media that can help students connect abstract concepts with real experiences. This study aims to analyze students’ mathematical reasoning ability on the topic of probability using worksheets (LKPD) assisted by Spin the Wheel media. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving three eighth-grade students of SMPN 2 Waru, selected based on high, medium, and low reasoning categories. Data were collected through essay tests, observations, and interviews, and analyzed using four indicators of mathematical reasoning: (1) constructing sample spaces and determining probabilities, (2) making predictions, (3) comparing theoretical probabilities with experimental results, and (4) drawing logical conclusions. The results show that students’ mathematical reasoning ability falls into the moderate category, with the main difficulty found in comparing theoretical and experimental results. The Spin the Wheel media effectively helps students understand probability concepts more concretely and increases their learning engagement. However, teacher guidance is still needed to help students connect experimental findings with theoretical concepts.

The MathWay application offers interactive features that support mathematics learning, especially in algebra material. This study aims to systematically review the existing literature related to the effectiveness of using MathWay on students' computational thinking skills. The research uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, with data collection techniques carried out by studying relevant literature related to computational thinking, MathWay applications, and algebra. The article selection process is carried out by formulating research questions, conducting systematic literature searches, applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, and analyzing and summarizing findings, followed by making conclusions. The analysis uses the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses) diagram method, with four relevant scientific articles obtained. The results of the study indicate that the use of MathWay is effective in improving students' computational thinking skills, especially in problem solving and algorithmic thinking patterns.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the abductive reasoning process in solving algebra. In this research, the literature study method was used. Based on the results of studies that have been conducted, abductive reasoning helps students make creative and flexible guesses, especially when the solution is not clear at the start. By applying abductive reasoning to solve algebra problems, students are directed to recognize abductive problems, identify various solutions then select the best solution, and assimilate. The solution found must be re-evaluated because there is no guarantee that the solution obtained from the abductive reasoning process is correct.

Abstract

Does Problem-Based Learning Integrated into PHET Improve Mathematical Critical Thinking and Problem Solving Ability? Objectives: This research aims to examine the effectiveness of the use of PBL combined with PHET rather than PBL about mathematical critical thinking and problem-solving ability. Methods: This research employed an experimental approach involved a sample of 63 students of grade VIII’s favorite MTs in Sidoarjo Regency, East Java, divided into 2 classes (PBL class combined with PHET and regular PBL class). The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics combined with Mann-Whitney’s statistical test. Findings: This research finds out that  there is no difference in the influence of the intervention on the application of PBL combined with PHET with the usual PBL group in developing students' mathematical problem-solving ability, and there are differences in the influence of interventions on the implementation of PHET integrated PBL and the application of ordinary PBL in developing students' mathematical critical thinking ability. Conclusion: Based on findings, the importance of providing adequate computer facilities for students when they want to implement website-based learning media such as PHET. Keywords: PHET, PBL, problem solving, critical thinking, and mathematics.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v12.i2.202215
