Abstract

Competition in the business world is getting tougher from year to year both within a country and abroad. There are a large number of companies competing with one another, especially entering the free market share in Asia, namely the Asean Economic Community (AEC). In the current development of modern economy, Indonesia is making efforts to increase its economic growth. For this, developments in any fields are made. Among others is the service industry such as accommodation, travel, and transportation services. Considering that Indonesia is a country comprised of many islands with a variety of natural beauty, it has the very potential for tourist resort attraction. This kind of thing leads to the growth of the Travel, tourism and hotel industry to support development of tourism. With such rapid service industry development, supported by promising business opportunities, investors for such sector are encouraged. The right way to reduce risk for investors interested is to develop a system for estimating the stock prices. Therefore, in this study, the high and low stock price estimation method applied for travel companies adopted developed Kalman Filter, a comparison of two Kalman Filter development methods, namely Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) and Fuzzy Kalman Filter (FKF) as a chart for investors to take into consideration in their investment decision making. The simulation results showed that the EKF method had higher accuracy than the FKF method with an error by the EKF of 3.5% and that by the FKF of 8.9%.

Abstract

Abstract

Blood plays a vital role in human health, making the need for donors and transfusions crucial. Currently, the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) in Surabaya faces a balance issue between blood supply and demand. To address this, a blood demand forecasting model has been created at the PMI using ANN with a 4% error rate. The Kalman Filter algorithm is known to significantly reduce prediction errors from the prediction and correction process, while an ANN is considered capable of handling data complexity and nonlinearity. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the performance of the ANN and Kalman Filter models and compare the model performance results to determine the model with the best performance level. The modelling uses the CRISP-DM method, which starts from data understanding, data preparation, data modelling, model evaluation, and forecasting. The results of this study indicate that the Kalman Filter model successfully minimizes errors compared to the ANN prediction results, achieving a model accuracy level reaching 93.1%. These results demonstrate that the Kalman Filter model can significantly reduce prediction errors in the prediction and correction process, making it more optimal than the ANN model in forecasting blood demand at the PMI in Surabaya.

Abstract

Air is one of the elements needed by living things, including humans, to survive. The air quality in an area also affects the health and quality of human life and its surrounding environment. However, with the current phenomenon, the influence of the increasing number and mobility of humans actually degrades air quality, caused by the pollutants produced. For further impacts, poor air quality can reduce human life expectancy. Big cities in Indonesia, such as Surabaya, also experience the same thing due to the lack of public awareness of air pollution. The biggest contributors to air pollution are motor vehicles and industrial activities that emit carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NO), ozone (O3), and other particles (PM10). This condition is addressed by the Surabaya City Government by installing air condition measuring devices at points considered prone to pollution. This device works to measure urban air conditions daily and provides data that can be utilized to establish strategic policies. By utilizing the data, in this research, we implemented two prediction methods from machine learning technology, namely XG Boost and Random Forest. In accordance with the objective of this research, both methods will be compared for accuracy in predicting air pollution levels in Surabaya based on Ozon (O3) substance within the period of January 1, 2020, to December 31, 2020. Both of them have a similarity in that they implement tree-ensemble based, which are appropriate for handling non-linear data. The XG Boost method managed to achieve the best error value of 0.0510, and the Random Forest method reached the best error value of 0.0468.

Abstract

Water is the primary need for human survival. The need for clean water is very important, both in a household scale and in an industrial scale. The clean water used and consumed by the community comes from river water processed and distributed by the Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM). Water conditions before being treated and distributed contain various harmful substances if not purified, one of which is ammonia. Currently, with the development of information technology, especially in the field of machine learning and data analysis, the process of predicting the content of ammonia substances in water is becoming increasingly facilitated. Machine learning has provided a number of scientific prediction methods that can be used. In this research, the methods used were Random Forest Regression and K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) methods are used to predict turbidity level of water in PDAM Surya Sembada Surabaya. This research aims to compare robbustness and accuracy of prediction models. The Random Forest method produced the best prediction error value of 0.0934, while the K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) method produced the best prediction error value of 0.0918.

Abstract

Mosque-based community empowerment is a da'wah movement to increase the independence and welfare of the community. Mosques as religious institutions are expected to be able to prosper society with productive programs through the concept of community empowerment in the economic and social fields. Based on these reasons, this study aims to find a campus mosque-based community empowerment model from the economic and social aspects. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method with pattern matching analysis techniques. Data collection used a criteria technique to determine informants who totaled 5 takmir in three mosques, namely, Manarul '11mi ITS Mosque, Ulul 'Azmi Unair Mosque, and Baitul Makmur Unesa Mosque to be interviewed in depth, observed, and documented. The results of this study found that every mosque has enormous potential in empowering the socio-economic community, but it has not been optimal in its implementation so that the congregation and the wider community do not feel the impact of the presence of the mosque. This is also due to the lack of professional experts in mosque management. The combination of the three campus mosques produces a mosque-based economic and social-community empowerment model that can be implemented in mosques that wish to empower the community economically and socially. If a mosque wants to do empowerment, it is required to collaborate with the government, universities, the community, and the private sector. Mosques must implement modern administration and be able to identify community potential. Inputs to economic empowerment include institutions, leadership and goals. The process of economic and social empowerment includes spiritual formation, personal mental formation, capacity building, and empowering. The output of economic-social empowerment includes character strengthening, mental character strengthening, emotional relationship strengthening, business strengthening and economic-social strengthening. The outcomes obtained include spiritual abilities, economic abilities and social abilities so that they are able to give birth to world and hereafter welfare. Thus the mosque is not only prospered by the community, but the mosque is able to prosper the community.
