Abstract

This study aims to provide an overview of the multicultural personality of single sex adolescents of SMA Daarut Tauhiid Boarding Schools Putri. The research used descriptive analysis methods with the help of Microsoft Excel applications and SPSS version 26. The research instrument used the Multicultural Personality Questionnaire (MPQ) measuring instrument made by Van der Zee Van Oudenhoven (2013) with a total of 40 statements measuring 5 aspects of multicultural personality, namely: cultural empathy, social initiative, open-mindedness, emotional stability, and flexibility, data collection using a Likert scale with five alternative answers. The research participants were students of SMA Daarut Tauhiid Boarding School Putri who were teenagers with female gender totalling 150 people. The results showed that single sex school adolescents have a good multicultural personality, while based on aspects of multicultural personality, single sex school adolescents have the highest average in the aspect of cultural empathy, indicating that students already have skills in empathising (understanding and feeling) with the thoughts and feelings of people of different cultures. And the lowest aspect is in the aspect of open mind, indicating that students do not yet have an open and unprejudiced attitude towards different cultural norms and values optimally so that this can be the basis for designing multicultural guidance and counselling programs that can be applied in single sex schools.

Abstract

Student academic resilience refers to a person's ability to overcome challenges and difficulties in a higher education context, which includes the ability to remain resilient and productive amid academic pressures, challenging tasks, and changing educational environments. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the validity and reliability of the student academic endurance scale through the Rasch analysis approach. The results showed the unidimensionality analysis in raw variance explained by means and unexplained variance in the first contrast. The results of the unidimensionality analysis of the academic resilience scale were obtained: raw variance explained by measures with a value of 36% and unexplained variance in 1st of 8.1%. The score shows that raw variance explained by measures (36%) is greater than 20% and unexplained variance in 1st (8.1%) is below 15%. In the analysis results, 3 items do not match (misfits). The processing of the mean value (1.01) is added to the standard deviation (0.22), which is 1.23. Items that have a logit value greater than 1.23 are item numbers 9, 13, and 14. The acquisition of a larger logit value can be interpreted if items numbers 9, 13, and 14 are too difficult for respondents to answer. Three items on the academic resilience scale indicate if an item does not match. This can be interpreted as an academic resilience scale measuring tool that is appropriate for measuring student academic resilience.

Abstract

The phenomenon of subjective well-being among vocational high school students has garnered considerable attention, particularly in light of the high levels of anxiety many students face due to academic and social pressures. This study aims to delineate the profile of subjective well-being among students at SMK Provita Bandung and to identify differences in subjective well-being based on demographic characteristics. Employing a comparative study method, the research involved a sample of 157 students selected through stratified random sampling. Data on subjective well-being were collected using an inventory developed by the researcher, grounded in Ed Diener's theory, and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques (ANOVA). The findings reveal that students' subjective well-being levels are categorized as moderate across the dimensions of pleasant experiences, unpleasant experiences, and life satisfaction. No significant differences were observed in subjective well-being concerning grade level, gender, age, or ethnicity. However, noteworthy differences were found based on characteristics of social contact. These results underscore the necessity for programs to enhance students' social interactions and cultivate an environment conducive to fostering connections, ultimately improving their subjective well-being.

Abstract

This study focuses on analyzing factors that are significant to the occurrence of cyberbullying cases and identifying aspects of cyberbullying that have a significant influence on cyberbullying behavior in generation Z in Indonesia. The research method used is quantitative. The dependent variable in this study is cyberbullying and the independent variable is social media. The population of this study consisted of students from three provinces in Sulawesi, namely South Sulawesi, West Sulawesi and Central Sulawesi. Samples were taken from the third province of Sulawesi as many as 389 students using the proportional stratified random sampling method. Data analysis used the prerequisite test analysis approach through the data normality test and data linearity test using the ANOVA statistical technique using the JASP statistical application. The results of the study show that the factors that have a significant influence on cyberbullying behavior in generation Z students are the intensity of comments on social media. The intensity factor of using social media and the type of social media have no effect on cyberbullying behavior. Aspects of verbal written bullying and social exclusion have no significant effect on cyberbullying. The visual aspect of sexual bullying on cyberbullying behavior in terms of the intensity factor of giving comments on social media has a strong significant difference. Therefore it can be concluded that visually sexual negative comments are related to the level of cyberbullying behavior in Generation Z in Sulawesi, Indonesia

Abstract

This study aims to design and develop a peer-based intervention model grounded in humanistic principles to enhance the subjective well-being of senior high school adolescent in Indonesia. Employing a convergent mixed-methods design, qualitative data were obtained through focus group discussions and interviews to explore students’ needs related to peer-based support, while quantitative data on subjective well-being profiles were collected from 133 students using the Subjective Well-being Inventory for High School Students (Azzahrah et al., 2024). The developed model underwent acceptability testing by four guidance and counseling teachers and was validated by four experts in the field of guidance and counseling. The model was pilot-tested on 13 students, and the results revealed a significant increase in subjective well-being scores from the pre-test (M= 80,250) to the post-test (M= 88,875), with a p-value of 0,022 (p<0,05). These findings suggest the the model demonstrates contextual relevance and a meaningful impact in supporting adolescents’ subjective well-being. This study contributes to the field of guidance and counseling by introducing a peer-based intervention model rooted in humanistic theory, which holds potential for broad and sustainable implementation within Indonesia secondary education settings.

Abstract

Low life satisfaction can lead to serious mental health problems, including depression and anxiety, which can negatively impact quality of life. This study aims to develop and validate an instrument from Diener that can be used to measure life satisfaction accurately and reliably using the Rasch Model approach. This research method involved 70 participants representing various backgrounds, both men and women. The collected data were analyzed using the Rasch Model to evaluate scale accuracy, validity, reliability, and undimensionality on the life satisfaction scale. The results of this study explain that out of 7 scale item choices, there are three item choices on the life satisfaction scale that are inappropriate, namely scales 3, 4 and 5 which do not have peaks. The validity and reliability results show that 5 items are valid and reliable with the results of the validity value meeting the validity and reliability criteria resulting in a Cronbach's alpha value obtained of 0.83 which means it is in the good category. Furthermore, the findings of the dimensional test tested with standardized residuals are known to have a value of 65.1%. Assuming these criteria are met, the life satisfaction instrument meets the 20% threshold for the unidimensionality test.
