Abstract

Mengani Village, Kintamani Subdistrict, Bangli Regency, is a partner village of the Faculty of Agriculture, Mahasaraswati University, Denpasar. The distance to the subdistrict capital is 17 km, and to the capital of Bangli Regency is 37 km, while the distance to the provincial capital is around 50 km. The land area of Mengani village is 437 hectares, of which 25 hectares are paddy fields, and the rest are plantations and yards. The Mengani village farmers have been planting well-adapted rice on the highlands, namely the Red Pilian variety which is rice with a red grain. But there is a belief that has been believed for generations that rice cultivation does not need to be fertilized either organic fertilizer or chemical fertilizers or pesticides. As a result, production per land area is very low at around 2-3 tons per hectare. Seeing such conditions, it is necessary to make efforts to increase the productivity of “Pilian Merah” rice organically through the making of organic rice demonstration plots by applying a good cultivation system that is good soil cultivation, planting young seedlings, planting only 2 seedlings, minimal water, fertilizing with organic fertilizer local, and the use of vegetable pesticides for the control of rice pests and diseases. The method of implementing science and technology is carried out through socialization, training, assistance, demonstration of organic rice plots. The results of the activity showed that there was an increase in farmers' knowledge about organic farming, from the initial 50% of farmers who did not understand to 100% understanding of organic farming, understanding of the dangers of synthetic chemical fertilizers to soil and environment from 70% of farmers who did not understand 100% understanding , understanding of the dangers of synthetic chemical pesticides to useful insects and the environment from the beginning 70% of farmers did not understand increased to100% understanding. Besides that, there was an increase in the skills of farmers in making organic fertilizers, which was originally 30% unskilled to 80% skilled, the skills of farmers in making organic pesticides originally 100% unskilled increased to 50% quite skilled. The conclusion that can be drawn from the implementation of science and technology is that the activities carried out related to the understanding and skills of farmers in supporting organic farming have succeeded in increasing farmers' understanding and skills so that sustainability in the field will run well.

Abstract

Abstract

Purnajiwa plant (Kopsia arborea Blume.) is a type of plant from the Apocynaceae family that has the potential as a source of natural antioxidants. Parts purnajiwa plant contain many compounds with antimicrobial properties. These co mpounds can be obtained from roots, bark, seeds, shoots, leaves, flowers and fruit. This research is a laboratory experimental study using a Completely Randomized Desing (CRD) with 6 treatments. The treatment was repeated 3 times with various concentrations of control, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 25%. The material used in this research is the extract of the bark of the stems of Purnajiwa, which is macerated with ethanol as a solvent to produce a thick extract and then tested for antibacterial activity on the fungus Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici parameters observed were the inhibition test on colony growth in vitro. Data analysis used a single ANOVA variance. The results showed that the bark extract of the Purnajiwa's stem had the ability to inhibit the growth of the fungus Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici on the seventh day of treatment. The most effective concentration in inhibiting the growth of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici was present at a concentration of 20% with the highest average value of 90,17mm, with a percentage of 88,48%.

Abstract

Mengani village which is located on a hill, makes agricultural land has the potential to develop environmentally friendly agriculture because it is close to a water source and there is almost no contamination on the land. The use of organic fertilizer has begun to be applied by farmers, but the use of pesticides still applies chemical pesticides. The impact of chemical pesticides is not only harmful to plants and the environment, but can cause new types of pests and diseases to attack plants. Organic pesticides are not used by farmers in Mengani Village due to farmers' lack of understanding of the application of effective and efficient use of organic pesticides. So the Farmers' Group needs to get management socialization in Agro-Entrepreneurship towards environmentally friendly and sustainable agriculture. This activity provides knowledge and skills for farmers. After conducting training and counseling, farmers can already know the pests that attack the agricultural land and control techniques. Farmers can also do post-harvest handling that provides higher economic value than before training. In general, farmers who participated in the training showed a good and active response during this activity. At the end of training and counseling, the farmer knows the costs and marketing efficiency of the Cabbage commodity on his farm
