Abstract

The aim of the study is efficiency policy analysis in hospitals with data envelopment analysis method with return to scale model. The time of the research is carried out in November 2020 until completion. The sample in this study was Hospital X. The data collection technique used in this study used secondary data is obtained from the literature study method, literature exploration, and hospital annual reports. This research uses data envelopment analysis method. The results show that the average efficiency score of Hospital X for the 2017-2019 period is 0.981966, where in 2017 it is 0.998424, in 2018 it is 0.990754, and in 2019 it is 0.956721. During the research period, namely 2017-2019, it can be interpreted that Hospital X has not been technically efficient because the efficiency value is below 1 or 100 percent. It is hoped that hospital leaders will be able to implement hospital input control programs such as total hospital assets, total staff, and make efficiency in the use of operational costs so that hospital outputs such as total patients, number of health checks, and operating income can be achieved maximally. Improving quality is important so that current hospital efficiency can be achieved. Furthermore, the data envelopment analysis method can be used as one of the considerations for establishing a hospital because it is able to calculate the relative efficiency of hospitals in a particular area. Then, it can promote plenary accreditation to ensure to the public that hospital standards have been properly met.

Abstract

Background: A mucositis is the most common problem in a chemotherapy treatment and becomes a severe problem for patients who receive several cycles of chemotherapy. Effects of an oral mucositis that is not treated immediately or is less effective can affect quality of life of the patients. Pain experienced by them can cause problems in the mouth, for example inability to tolerate food or fluids (dysphagia) and decreases of nutritional status. Objective: This study is to identify effectiveness of oral cryotherapy on prevention of the mucositis in cancer patients with chemotherapy. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental method with a pre and post-test for a control group. Its samples were 32 patients for an intervention group and a control group, taken by using a consecutive sampling technique. The mucositis was measured by using questionnaires of Oral Assessment Guide (OAG), and the obtained data was analysed by the Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney test. Results: This study found that 24 respondents were not affected by the mucositis at p-value=0.008 (p<0.05) in the post intervention in the intervention group, and there was a difference in values of the mucositis measured by the OAG at p-value=0.003 (p<0.05) in the post intervention in the both groups. Conclusion: The oral cryotherapy could prevent the mucositis in cancer patients with chemotherapy.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the effect of foot bath intervention on reducing symptoms of peripheral neuropathy in patients undergoing chemotherapy. The method used is a quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test with a control group design. Data was collected using a Chemotherapy Induced Peripheral Neuropathy Assessment Tool (CIPNAT) questionnaire with a total sample of 66 patients consisting of 33 patients in the intervention group and 33 patients in the control group selected by consecutive sampling technique. The data obtained were analyzed using paired t-tests and t-tests for independent groups. The results showed a difference between the mean value of peripheral neuropathy symptoms in the intervention group and the control group after treatment with a p-value of 0.0001 (p<0.05). In conclusion, a foot bath effectively reduces peripheral neuropathy symptoms in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Abstract

Patient safety goals consist of six safety goals, one of which is the identification process. Where the patient identification process must be carried out correctly so that errors or nursing errors do not occur. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the implementation of patient identification and nursing errors. This research uses associative research with a cross-research design. The sample in this study amounted to 120 people, at the Regional General Hospital Dr. RM. Djoelham Binjai used a total sampling technique. The data collection instrument was used a questionnaire. The results of the study showed that as many as 51 people (96,1%) did not carry out patient identification with a high incidence of nursing errors. Meanwhile, among nurses who carried out patient identification, there was 1 out of 68 people (1,4%) with a high incidence of nursing errors. Based on the results of data processing, it was concluded that the effect of carrying out patient identification was strong by r square=0,911, meaning that the patient identification implementation variable was used in the study. It has been able to explain the diversity of data on nursing error variables at the Regional General Hospital Dr. RM. Djoelham Binjai is 91,1%, while the remaining 8,9% is explained by other variables outside the research model.
