Abstract

Wives who suffer from cervical cancers and receive chemotherapy treatment potentially have the potential to experience a decrease in the reproductive function of the organs so that the role as a wife experiences changes such as impaired gynecological functions which result in nonfulfillment of sexual desires, pain during intercourse, bleeding, emotional disturbances, and fatigue so that the daily activities of cervical cancer sufferers experience a significant decrease. Objective to understand cervical cancer patients' experiences with chemotherapy in conducting their role as wives. the study was a qualitative design with a phenomenological approach. Data were collected using an interview with 8 participants and analyzed using colaizzi. Then, it is transcribed and analyzed repeatedly. The second step, analyzing, is conducted by extracting significant statements, categorizing, and understanding the essential meaning. In the third step, describing, the researcher communicates, concludes, and defines the phenomenon. 6 Themes are found in this research: 1) conducting the role as a wife part, 2) sexual relationship disorders, 3) self –concept disorder 4) anxiety of cancer 5) medication side effects, 6) getting the family support. The study result indicates that despite the side effects of chemotherapy experienced by wives who suffer from cervical cancer, they still can conduct their role as wives supported by the family.

Abstract

Nurse work motivation is the internal and external forces that drive work behaviors, such as commitment and performance, by determining their direction, intensity, and duration. Interprofessional collaboration in nursing practice involves partnerships between nurses, healthcare teams, and patients with shared decision-making based on professional expertise. Patient satisfaction reflects perceptions of the quality of care compared to their expectations. This study aims to analyze the relationship between nurses' work motivation and patient satisfaction and the relationship between interprofessional collaboration in nursing practice. The study was quantitative with a correlation approach. 99 inpatients were involved in this study using convenience sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using the Spearman rank statistical test. The results of the study showed that there was a relationship between nurse work motivation and patient satisfaction (0.027<0.05). There was a relationship between nurse interprofessional collaboration practice and patient satisfaction 0.007<0.05). It is expected that the work motivation and interprofessional collaboration practice of nurses can be further improved in services so that patient satisfaction increases and patient needs are met well.

Abstract

Stunting was associated by chronic malnutrition due to intake of nutrients that are lacking in a long time in children. This condition causes the child to have a height tends to be short in his age. The incidence of stunting is influenced by care in the family, especially related to the knowledge and attitudes of mothers in the event of stunting. Treatment from pregnancy to child is related to the fulfillment of food and family nutrition. This research is descriptive which aims to describe the knowledge and attitudes of mothers in the incidence of stunting in children. Population of all mothers with babies and toddlers in Namo Rambe sub-district. Samples are families / parents who have children aged one to 5 years. Data collection uses a questionnaire, which consists of demographic data, data on mother's knowledge and attitudes. Univariate data analysis uses the frequency of distribution and presentation. The results of mother's knowledge about stunting in general are in the low category at around 50.7%. The mother's attitude is in the negative attitude which is around 55.8%. Health workers must be able to optimize their role in providing health education to the community specifically about stunting.

Abstract

One effort to improve children's health and nutrition is to provide the best food for ages under two years (Baduta). If babies and children aged 6-24 months do not get enough nutrition from MP-ASI, it will cause disruption of growth and malnutrition. Medan Sunggal Health Center is one of the health centers in the fostered village of F.Kep USU. Based on the results of the toddler nutrition study conducted previously, there were still some nutritional problems, especially in the age group of Baduta. The main cause is the limited knowledge of mothers about Baduta nutrition and the skills of mothers in preparing food to meet nutritional needs with locally available food. Posyandu cadres who have been actively involved are still weak in providing breastfeeding and MP-ASI education. Even though Posyandu cadres are very potential their role as agents of change. Community service activities counseling for local food-based WHO MP-ASI for Posyandu cadres and baduta’ mothers was held on August 24, 2018, with the number of counseling participants thirty-five people. The end result is an increase in participants' knowledge and skills to shape good nutritional behavior in the family.

Abstract

Background: One factor that causes cervical cancer is the lack of personal hygiene in the genital organs. However, there are still young women who do not maintain the cleanliness of their genital organs, in fact, it is better to be aware of the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of the external genital organs from an early age. Problems that arise due to poor hygiene of the genital organs, namely the emergence of several venereal diseases such as vaginal discharge, genital skin irritation, allergies, cervical cancer, urinary tract infections, one of the efforts to increase knowledge of young women, provides information on external genital care. The aim of the research is to find out the effectiveness of the lecture and discussion method on the behavior of young women in the care of external genitalia.Research Methods: The research design uses a quasi-experimental approach with the Two Group Pretest Posttest approach, namely by using a comparison group but at least observations have been made. The population of this study was all young women at the Medan Family Education Foundation High School totaling 242 people. The sampling technique is simple random sampling. The total sample is 70 people consisting of 35 lecture groups and 35 discussion groups. bivariate analysis with T-test. Results: The results showed that the discussion method was more effective than lectures on the behavior of young women in treating external genitalia. There was a difference in the average score of knowledge of young women in treating external genitalia. Changes in knowledge are greater using the discussion method with an average value of 2.97 compared to lectures with an average value of 0.52. Changes in attitude were greater using the discussion method with an average value of 14.13 compared to lectures with an average value of 0.72. Changes in action were greater using the discussion method with an average value of 6.12 compared to lectures with an average value of 0.76. Conclusion: The discussion method is more effective for improving the behavior of young women in caring for external genitalia at the Medan Family Education Foundation High School.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Family support is a form of interpersonal relationship that includes attitudes, actions, and acceptance of family members, so that family members feel that someone cares about them. increase self-ability to the situation experienced (Effendy, 2021). Low self-efficacy can increase risk, it is found that the majority of family self-efficacy is low because the family's understanding and ability to care for schizophrenia patients is not so good, resulting in a higher possibility of relapse. Relapse of patients with mental disorders has a major impact on the family and the development of family members. The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between family support and self-efficacy with the frequency of relapse of schizophrenia patients in the inpatient room. The approach used in this study was cross-sectional, with a descriptive correlation method. The sampling method in this study used a type of non-probability sampling with purposive sampling technique so that the final sample needed in this study was 68 respondents. The instruments used in this study were family support questionnaires, self-efficacy and relapse of schizophrenia patients. To prove the existence of a significant relationship between the independent variables, namely family support and work self-efficacy with the dependent variable, namely the frequency of recurrence of schizophrenia, the chi-squer test was used with the help of computerization at 5% (0.05). The results showed that there is a relationship between family support and the frequency of relapse of schizophrenia patients p (0.007) < α (0.05). there is a relationship between self efficacy with the frequency of relapse of schizophrenia patients p value (0.005) < α (0.05).   Keywords: Family Support, Relapse, Schizophrenia  ABSTRAK Dukungan keluarga adalah suatu bentuk hubungan interpersonal yang meliputi sikap, tindakan, dan penerimaan terhadap anggota keluarga, sehingga anggota keluarga merasa ada yang memperhatikannya. meningkatkan kemampuan diri terhadap situasi yang dialami. Self-efficacy rendah dapat meningkatkan risiko, didapatkan bahwa self-efficacy keluarga mayoritas rendah karena pemahaman dan kemampuan keluarga dalam merawat pasien skizofrenia belum begitu baik, sehingga mengakibatkan kemungkinan untuk kambuh semakin tinggi. Kekambuhan pasien gangguan jiwa memberikan dampak yang besar terhadap keluarga dan perkembangan anggota keluarga. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi hubungan dukungan keluarga dan self efficacy dengan frekuensi kekambuhan pasien skizofrenia di ruang rawat inap. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini cross-sectional, dengan metode deskriptif korelasi. Metode pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan jenis non probability sampling dengan tehnik purposive sampling sehingga sampel akhir yang dibutuhkan dalam penelitian ini adalah 68 responden. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu kuesioner dukungan keluarga, self-efficacy dan kekambuhan pasien skizofrenia. Untuk membuktikan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara variabel bebas yaitu dukungan keluarga dan self eficacy kerja dengan variabel terikat yaitu frekuensi kekambuhan skizofrenia digunakan uji  chi-squer dengan bantuan komputerisasi pada bebas kemaknaan 5% (0,05). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan dukungan keluarga dengan frekuensi kekambuhan pasien skizofrenia p (0,007) <   (0,05).   ada hubungan self efficacy dengan frekuensi kekambuhan pasien skizofrenia nilai  p (0,005) <   (0,05).  Keluarga harus memberikan dukungan pada pasien skizofrenia dan meningkatkan self efficacy melalui kunjungan ke rumah sakit untuk mendapatkan informasi atau penyuluhan tentang manajemen kesehatan jiwa utnuk mencegah kekambuhan berulang. Kata Kunci: Dukungan Keluarga, Kekambuhan, Skizofrenia

Abstract

ABSTRACT Intensity of gadget use is the level of gadget use in humans which is thought to be influenced by several characteristics, namely characteristics related to self Alone and the environment. This research was conducted on junior high school children. Intensity of gadget use among junior high school children in Lubuk Pakam school students This research method use is descriptive. The research results show the of the 48 respondents who used gadgets the highest was in the medium category as much as 89.6% (43 respondents). After conducting research, the results showed that the intensity of gadget use in teenagers (junior high school) was highest in the moderate category, so it was suggested that parents need to monitor the duration of gadget use in children to prevent addiction and reduce other negative impacts. Keywords: Intensity Of Gadget Use, Adolescent                              ABSTRAK Intensitas penggunaan gadget merupakan tingkat penggunaan gadget pada manusia yang diduga dipengaruhi oleh beberapa karakteristik yaitu karakteristik yang berkaitan dengan diri sendiri dan lingkungan. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada anak SMP. Intensitas penggunaan gadget pada siswa SMP di sekolah Lubuk Pakam. Penggunaan metode penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dari 48 responden yang menggunakan gadget paling tinggi berada pada kategori sedang sebanyak 89,6% (43 responden). Setelah dilakukan penelitian, diperoleh hasil bahwa intensitas penggunaan gadget pada remaja (SMP) paling tinggi berada pada kategori sedang, sehingga disarankan agar orang tua perlu memantau durasi penggunaan gadget pada anak untuk mencegah kecanduan dan mengurangi dampak negatif lainnya. Kata Kunci: Intensitas Penggunaan Gadget, Remaja

Abstract

Stunting is malnutrition a long time and have an adverse impact on health status, growth and development of children. Signs and symptoms of stunting is child's posture is short i.e. the height is not appropriate with age. Malnutrition in children is related to the characteristics of the family as a place of growing and the care of the child. This research is descriptive quantitative research with the aim to analyze the characteristics of families with children who suffer from stunting. The study population 136 as much as with the total sample of 30 mothers who have children and toddlers with simple random sampling. Abstract

Reproductive health issues, especially maternal and infant health, are a priority and require special care during the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the groups at high risk of contracting the COVID-19 virus is people in the elderly age group, especially mothers in the menopause stage, which is categorized as a comorbid group. An assessment of the knowledge and attitudes of postmenopausal mothers in health care is important to maximize action in the treatment and prevention of disease. This type of research is a descriptive study that aims to describe behaviors, especially the knowledge and attitudes of postmenopausal mothers. The population of all menopausal mothers in the Medan Johor sub-district with a sample of 128 people. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires, which consisted of demographic data, and knowledge and attitude data. Univariate data analysis using frequency distribution and presentation. The results of the study found that the knowledge of postmenopausal mothers was in a low category, namely around 48%, and negative attitudes of 52% related to health care during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Preeclampsia is a condition with increased blood pressure in pregnant women that occurs after 20 weeks of gestation. Maternal behaviour in pregnancy care is important to study to prevent the risk of preeclampsia, such as knowledge, attitudes and actions. This study aims to identify the relationship between the behaviour of pregnant women in knowing hypertension with the incidence of eclampsia in pregnant women in the working area of Puskesmas Kampung Baru Medan. A quantitative, descriptive-correlational design was employed using a cross-sectional approach. Data were analyzed using frequency distribution and percentage tables. The data in this study are presented in the form of frequency distribution tables and percentages. The findings revealed that the majority of respondents demonstrated adequate knowledge (55%), positive attitudes (62.5%), and appropriate preventive actions (82%). A moderately strong correlation was found between maternal knowledge and the incidence of preeclampsia (p = 0.00; r = 0.398). However, no significant associations were observed between attitudes (p = 0.204) or preventive actions (p = 0.117) and preeclampsia occurrence These results underscore the need to enhance maternal knowledge regarding pregnancy-related hypertension to effectively prevent preeclampsia.
