Abstract

Rubber is a widely cultivated plantation commodity, but the volatility of rubber prices poses a problem for farmers, as it affects the ability to meet food demands in terms of both quantity and quality. The motivation behind this study was to analyze the level of food security and the quality of household food consumption of rubber farmers in Tulang Bawang Udik Sub district, West Tulang Bawang Regency. This study used survey method with a sample of forty-eight rubber farming households from two villages with land areas of less than one hectare, selected by simple random sampling. Food security was measured by cross-classification between the proportion of food expenditure and the level of household energy consumption. Calculation of household food expenditure was based on a monthly period, while the energy consumption level used the actual energy consumption indicator together with the energy consumption indicators obtained by the recall method. The quality of food consumption patterns was  analyzed by determining the PPH score.  Computation of the PPH score was acquired by contrasting the genuine AKE score with the standardizing PPH (100). The outcomes show that the results of the cross-classification of energy sufficiency and the proportion of food expenditure are acquired from the four categories of rubber farmers, and the sustainability of household food security is  27,08%, less is  43,75%, while the proportion of vulnerable is 12,50% and food insecurity is 6,67%. With a PPH score of 62,49, diversity is not achieved in nine food groups of rubber farmer households. Key words: food security, rubber farmer, food pattern of hope (PPH)

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis lingkungan internal, lingkungan eksternal dan merumuskan strategi pengembangan agrowisata jeruk di Kabupaten Lampung Timur.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kasus dilakukan di Agrowisata Jeruk Kabupaten Lampung Timur yang dipilih secara sengaja (purposive).  Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan pada bulan Desember 2020-Maret 2021. Responden dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 77 orang yang terdiri dari 4 orang pengurus agrowisata, 17 orang pemilik agrowisata, 15 orang karyawan agrowisata, 35 orang pengunjung. dosen, dan lembaga regulator. Metode analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif, analisis SWOT, dan QSPM. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan Agrowisata Jeruk berada pada sel I (growth and build). Kekuatan utama agrowisata adalah pemilik agrowisata dan pengurus mempunyai jiwa militan dan visi yang sama untuk mengembangkan agrowisata, kelemahan utama adalah akses jalan menuju lokasi masih bebatuan.  Peluang utama faktor eksternal adalah pemanfaatan teknologi sosial media, sementara ancaman yang paling utama adalah terdapat banyak pesaing dari agrowisata lain di daerah Lampung. Strategi prioritas yang dapat digunakan oleh agrowisata adalah memanfaatkan jiwa militan untuk meningkatkan usaha agrowisata menjadi lebih modern, mengajak warga sekitar yang memiliki lahan untuk menanam jeruk dalam rangka meningkatkan perekonomian keluarga, pemanfaatan teknologi media sosial sebagai sarana promosi untuk memperluas pasar, bekerjasama dengan perusahaan atau pemerintah untuk mengadakan pelatihan peningkatan nilai tambah usaha agrowisata jeruk, membentuk Pokdarwis dan bekerjasama dengan pemerintah untuk meningkatkan akses jalan menuju lokasi dan membangun wisata edukasi. Kata kunci: Agrowisata, Jeruk, Strategi Pengembangan

Abstract

Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Harapan Jaya di Kota Bandar Lampung memiliki usaha pengolahan jahe  merah menjadi jahe instan. Permintaan terhadap jahe instan tersebut meningkat sejak pandemi Covid 19.  Namun, kendala yang dihadapi bila akan meningkatkan produksi adalah ketersediaan bahan baku dan jahe instan dihasilkan belum dikemas dengan baik, penentuan harga jual belum benar, pemasaran masih terbatas, dan promosi belum dilakukan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatan pengetahuan anggota KWT Harapan Jaya tentang pengadaan bahan baku jahe merah dan bauran pemasaran jahe instan.  Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah penyuluhan (ceramah dan diskusi) dan pendampingan. Setelah kegiatan penyuluhan dilakukan, pengetahuan anggota KWT Harapan Jaya mengenai pengadaan bahan baku jahe merah dan bauran pemasaran meningkat sebesar 66,17 persen. Peserta kegiatan antusias mengikuti kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat terlihat dari persentase kehadiran sebesar 65 persen (lebih dari 50 persen anggota aktif) dan diskusi berjalan lancar serta aktif. Pengembangan kemasan produk, tertib pembukuan usaha, penetapan harga jual jahe instan, pemanfaatan media sosial dalam pemasaran dan promosi jahe instan KWT Harapan Jaya perlu waktu yang lebih panjang untuk mengevaluasinya.

Abstract

Sejak tahun 1998, Kelompok Tani (Poktan) Tunas Harapan di Desa Binjai Ngagung, Kecamatan Bekri, Kabupaten Lampung Tengah mengusahakan komoditas cabai merah. Produktivitas yang dihasilkan tergolong tinggi yakni sebesar 13 ton/ha. Walaupun demikian, bila ditinjau dengan pendekatan sistem agribisnis, maka pengusahaan cabai merah ini belum menunjukkan kinerja yang maksimal (baru 73,17 persen dari skor maksimal). Peran poktan dalam agribisnis cabai merah juga belum maksimal (baru 41,22 persen dari skor maksimal). Peran terbaik yang dicapai poktan hanya di subsistem pengadaan sarana produksi, sedangkan peran di subsistem usahatani, subsistem pengolahan hasil, subsistem pemasaran, dan subsistem jasa layanan penunjang perlu ditingkatkan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan anggota poktan tentang: 1) pembukuan usahatani cabai merah, 2) pengembangan pengolahan produk cabai merah, 3) perluasan jaringan pemasaran cabai merah, dan 4) penguatan kelembagaan poktan. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan (ceramah dan diskusi) serta pendampingan.  Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa setelah kegiatan penyuluhan dilakukan, pengetahuan anggota poktan mengenai sistem agribisnis cabai merah meningkat sebesar 46,96 persen. Anggota poktan antusias mengikuti kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat terlihat dari persentase kehadiran sebesar 80 persen dari anggota aktif yang diundang. Diskusi berjalan lancar serta aktif.  Dari kegiatan pendampingan, pengurus sudah mempunyai contoh pembukuan dan analisis pendapatan usahatani cabai merah. Pembukuan usahatani oleh anggota poktan, pengembangan produk olahan, perluasan pemasaran, dan penguatan kelembagaan poktan merupakan tindak lanjut yang perlu dilakukan.

Abstract

Semi organic rice is the product of rice farming that adopts environmentally friendly farming principles by replacing chemical pesticides with organic pesticides and gradually reducing the use of chemical fertilizers toward an organic farming system. However, the marketing of semi organic rice still faces challenges due to its relatively higher price and limited market segmentation. This study aims to analyze the marketing efficiency of semi organic rice in Seputih Raman District, Central Lampung Regency. The research location was determined purposively, considering the presence of the farmer group association (PP) Gapsera Sejahtera Mandiri, which has implemented a semi organic rice agribusiness system. Farmer and rice mill respondents were selected using purposive sampling, while trader respondents were selected using the snowball sampling method. Data analysis was conducted using the Structure, Conduct, and Performance (SCP) approach. The results revealed two marketing channels for semi organic rice: (I) farmer–rice mill–consumer and (II) farmer–rice mill–retailer–consumer. These channels operate within a market structure characterized by imperfect competition, including monopsony, monopoly, and oligopoly. Rice mills play a dominant role as price setters, while farmers act as price takers. The first marketing channel was found to be the most efficient, as indicated by a lower marketing margin, a farmer’s share of 42.41%, and a benefit cost ratio of 1.48.

Abstract

Vegetables have various benefits for the human body, but most people's consumption is still lacking. The purposes of this research were to analyze (1) the vegetable consumption adequacy level and (2) the determinants of the adequacy level of vegetable consumption of urban households in Lampung Province. This study used a descriptive method with secondary data from the 2019 National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas), from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Lampung Province. A total of 1,500 households were used as samples. The data analysis method used was descriptive and a statistical verification analysis. The results showed that urban households consume an average of 559.37 grams/day, or 152.53 grams/capita/day, of vegetables. The level of household vegetable consumption was still low, with an average of 61.01 percent of the World Health Organization (WHO) recommendation. Household income, number of household members, age of the head of household, the education level of the household's head, and the education level of the housewife positively influenced the adequacy level of household vegetable consumption. The number of household members was the variable that had the greatest influence on the household vegetable consumption level. Income and family size are determinants of adequate vegetable consumption. Therefore, to increase vegetable consumption, the government should educate the community with a focus on allocating income for healthier food. Educational activities can be integrated with ongoing government programs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of labour productivity and the factors influencing labour productivity in independent oil palm plantations. The research has taken place in Bangunrejo Sub-district, Central Lampung Regency. Data collection used the survey method. The sample size was 70 independent oil palm farmers. Sampling of oil palm farmers using a stratified random sampling method according to the age of the oil palm plants. Based on the conditions at the research location, the age of the plants is categorized into 19-12 years, 13-16 years, 17-21 years, 22-25 years. The sample size of each age category is 8, 14, 24 and 24 farmers. Data analysis employed descriptive quantitative methods and multiple linear regression. The results revealed that there is a tendency that the older the plant, the higher the labour productivity. The level of labour productivity in independent oil palm farms in the 9–12 year plant age group was  247.40 kg TBS/HOK, 13–16 year plant age was  250.81 kg TBS/HOK, 17–21 year plant age was 230.70 kg TBS/HOK, and 22–25 year plant age was  253.95 kg TBS/HOK. This is reinforced by the results of the regression analysis, which shows that when the land size, farming experience, and age of oil palm plants increase, the labour productivity of independent oil palm farms also increases.

Abstract

This research intended to analyze the added value, the cost of goods sold, and the profit of Sambal Tempoyak Agroindustry. The method used was case study at Maugi Agroindustry in Alam Barajo District, Jambi City. Maugi Agroindustry is an agroindustry that actively produces sambal tempoyak, therefore the location of the research was chosen purposefully. Owners and employees of Maugi Agroindustry participated in this study as respondents. Data collection for this study was carried out from December 2022 to January 2023, and the data gathered was analyzed by employing descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods. The data required for this research were primary data from observations and questionnaires as well as secondary data from related literatures. In analyzing data, Hayami added value method and full costing method were utilised. Based on the research results, it is known that the Maugi Agroindustry producing sambal tempoyak in bottles of 200 grams, 150 grams, and 40 grams. It generates profits because the added value is greater than zero, so it is feasible to develop. The selling price of each package based on the Maugi Agroindustry policy is above the production cost which is calculated using the full costing method. The highest profit is for the 200 grams glass bottle sambal tempoyak and the lowest profit is for the 40 grams bottle sambal tempoyak.   Keywords: added value, cost, profit, sambal tempoyak

Abstract

Studi ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana kinerja sistem agribisnis padi semi organik yang diterapkan di Kecamatan Seputih Raman, Kabupaten Lampung Tengah. Penilaian kinerja sistem agribisnis padi semi organik mencakup beberapa subsistem, yaitu pengadaan sarana produksi, usahatani, pengolahan, pemasaran, serta jasa layanan penunjang. Pelaksanaan studi berlangsung selama periode September hingga Desember 2024. Metode studi kasus digunakan dalam penelitian ini, dengan partisipasi 40 petani yang menjadi anggota dan mitra Perkumpulan Poktan (PP) Gapsera Sejahtera Mandiri, pengelola pabrik penggilingan dan pedagang pengecer. Metode yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah indeks sistem agribisnis. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian, kinerja sistem agribisnis padi semi organik di Kecamatan Seputih Raman, Kabupaten Lampung Tengah, sudah berjalan baik, dengan skor 12,64 dari skor maksimal 16,40 (77,11%). Kinerja sistem agribisnis padi semi organik ini telah menunjukkan kinerja yang baik pada beberapa subsistem, yaitu pengadaan sarana produksi, usahatani, pengolahan, dan jasa layanan penunjang, tetapi kinerja subsistem pemasaran dinilai masih belum baik.
