Abstract

The ability of prospective science and technology teachers to engage in Self-Directed Learning (S-DL) is essential for their professional growth in an evolving educational landscape. However, existing instruments to assess S-DL readiness often lack comprehensive validation. This study aims to develop and validate an instrument to measure S-DL readiness among prospective science and technology teachers. The research followed a structured process, including instrument design, expert validation, pilot testing, and psychometric evaluation. A sample of 100 students participated in the validation process, ensuring the instrument's reliability and validity. Content validation was conducted with expert judgment, while statistical analyses, including factor analysis, were used to assess construct validity. The final instrument consists of 42 items, demonstrating strong validity and reliability. These findings confirm that the developed S-DL instrument is an effective tool for measuring students' readiness for self-directed learning. The results provide valuable insights for improving teacher education programs by integrating self-directed learning strategies and supporting further research in this field.

Abstract

One of the companies in Semarang engaged in gadget sales services has an Apple Ecosystem information system for selling products from an exclusive brand, Apple. Inside there are sales transactions and also service devices iPad, Macbook Air, Macbook Pro, AirPods, Mac, and Apple Accsessories. This research uses purchase transaction data from Apple Ecosystem customers for the period 2023. The use of RFM (Recency, Frequency, Monetary) analysis helps in determining the attributes used for customer segmentation. To determine the optimal number of clusters from the RFM dataset, the Elbow method is applied. The dataset generated from RFM is grouped using the K-Means algorithm, the quality of the algorithm will be compared in cluster formation using the Silhouette Coefficient method. All procedures will be loaded into the Customer Segmentation App (RFM Clustering) web application. Customer segmentation from RFM datasets that have been clustered produces 3 optimal clusters, namely Cluster 2 is High Spenders with 326 customers, Cluster 0 is VIP Customers, Cluster 1 is Frequent Buyers. Cluster validation of k-means using the silhouette coefficient produces a value of 0.3524.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance students' critical thinking skills on the topic of substances and their changes using Book Creator. The research employed the Rowntree development model, with the research subjects being students at SMPN 1 Air Kumbang, Banyuasin Regency. The method used in this study was research and development (R&D) with the Rowntree development model and Tessmer evaluation, tested on 100 junior high school students. The results showed very high validity, with a Content Validity Index (CVI) and a Content Validity Ratio (CVR) of 0.8333, classified as very high. In the One-to-One evaluation stage, the practicality test results showed a percentage of 96.3% for the usefulness aspect and 91.67% for the ease-of-use aspect. In the Small Group Evaluation stage, the practicality of the e-module reached 97.53% for usability, classified as very practical, and 91.67% for ease of use. These results indicate that the e-module is considered very practical. The field test stage was conducted on 100 seventh-grade students to assess the effectiveness of the e-module in improving critical thinking skills. The results showed an N-Gain score of 56.11%, categorized as moderately effective. These findings indicate a significant improvement in students' critical thinking skills using Book Creator.

Abstract

The governments’s goal to produce graduates able to compete in all technology era must be realized by using media with technological assistance in the learning process. Chemistry learning focuses on providing direct experience which can be in the form of practical work activities. The limitations of laboratory facilities, tools, and practical work materials hinder the implementation of practical work activities, but this can be minimized, one of which is with Augmented Reality assistance. This research aimed at producing Augmented Reality assisted practicum guide media in Thermochemistry practice that was valid and practical based on the result of validity test by material, media and language experts and practical test by chemistry teacher and students. Research and Development method was used in this research with ADDIE research design, and the steps were (1) Analyze, (2) Design, (3) Development, (4) Implementation, and (5) Evaluation. Material experts validation result have a percentage 80% with valid category, media experts have a percentage 79,6% with valid category and linguist have a percentage 100% with very valid category. The percentage of practicality test by Chemistry subject teachers was 82% with very practical category, and the percentage of student response practicality test was 86% with very practical category. Based on the test result of validity and practicality it could be concluded that Augmented Reality assisted practicum guide media in thermochemistry practice was very appropriate and practical to be used as a learning on thermochemistry. This practicum guide has also been tested for its effectiveness on students' learning outcomes using a Single group pretest-posttest design. The results of the non-parametric test with the Mann-Whitney test obtained a calculated Uhitung of -132. This value is smaller than its Utabel of 123, which means that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. It can be concluded that there is a difference in students' learning outcomes in learning chemistry between classes that apply Augmented Reality-assisted practicum guide media or not in thermochemistry practicums.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze misconceptions at the submicroscopic level as well as the causal factors of misconceptions in elemental, compound and mixture materials. This research was conducted using descriptive-quantitative method using three-tier diagnostic test and interview. The research subjects were grade IX with 41 students in a junior high school in Malang. The results of this study indicate that 31.0% of students experience misconceptions in determining the concept of atoms, especially for like and unlike atoms in determining elements, compounds and mixtures, 29.0% in the difference in material changes when viewed from the shape of atoms owned, and 27.0% in changes in the constituent particles of elements, compounds and mixtures. The factors causing this misconception are based on the way of learning, misconceptions from teachers, learning methods, initial abilities, and supporting books. The conclusion of this research is that students experience misconceptions that have an impact on their understanding of concepts, especially for the submicroscopic level. The ability to understand the submicroscopic level which is still low causes the need for efforts in reducing the misconceptions that occur.

Abstract

Learning achievement cannot be separated from the performance of teachers and school principals. The principal as an academic supervisor indirectly plays a role in learning achievement through managing teacher resources and teachers play a direct role in learning achievement. This research aims to determine the performance of teachers and the performance of school principals in terms of mathematics learning achievement. This research used a qualitative research design with research data collection using interview, observation and documentation techniques. Meanwhile, for data validity, technical triangulation and source triangulation were used. Data analysis began with data reduction, data presentation and ended with drawing conclusions. The results of this research found that there was teacher and principal performance in achieving mathematics learning. The teacher's performance in this case was as a learning resource, class manager, motivator and evaluator. Meanwhile, the principal's performance as an academic supervisor is carried out by forming a supervision team, determining schedules, supervision techniques and instruments, checking the completeness of the administration of learning tools and the suitability of the teaching modules prepared by the teacher. Apart from that, the principal holds meetings and individual meetings to find out and monitor the learning process, evaluate learning, and the problems faced by teachers. However, the principal has not carried out monitoring by visited classes and directly observed the learning process carried out by teachers and has not used instruments when supervising the learning process and evaluation. However, in realizing learning achievements, school principals carry out follow-up actions to increase teacher teaching competence through MGMP activities, workshops or training for teachers.

Abstract

Teaching modules are independent curriculum bodies which replace learning plans. This study aims to development of teaching module based on independent learning to optimize students’ conceptual knowledge on the motion topic. The development of teaching modules using the ADDIE model consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, and implementation. This research used 15 class VII students as teachers at SMP Negeri 3 Satap Tabongo. Based on the validation results from three validators, the average percentage for the teaching module was 81.25%, which was in the very valid category and suitable for use in learning the motion topic. Based on the practicality of the Independent Curriculum-Based Teaching Module to optimize students' conceptual knowledge, it meets the practicality criteria with a score of 93.18% for teachers and student activities of 91.67%.and the results of the student responses were very good. Based on the effectiveness of the Independent Curriculum Based Teaching Module to optimize students' conceptual knowledge, it meets the criteria for effectiveness.

Abstract

The global demand for plant-based dairy alternatives is driven by health, environmental, and food allergy or intolerance concerns.  This movement has promoted plant-based yoghurts, which are nutrient-rich and non-dairy. This study examines the physicochemical and sensory characteristics of yogurts made from peanut milk and soy milk, both with and without the presence of filler, a prebiotic polysaccharide. Peanut milk yogurt exhibited a greater fat content of 11.2% wb, protein levels at 6.2% wb, and increased viscosity when compared to soy yogurt. However, soy yogurt exhibited elevated microbial loads (1.5 × 10¹¹ CFU/mL) and protein content when supplemented with inulin, suggesting improved fermentation activity. Both yogurts displayed pH levels appropriate for consumption (4.1–4.6), with peanut milk yogurt demonstrating a marginally higher acidity compared to soy yogurt. The addition of filler had a notable effect on the sensory profile, enhancing texture, taste, and overall acceptability for both peanut milk yogurt and soy yogurt. It is noteworthy that filler-enriched peanut milk yogurt exhibited diminished microbial loads and decreased viscosity, probably as a result of unutilized carbohydrate content and the presence of inhibitory metabolites from fermentation. Proximate analysis indicated that peanut milk yogurt has the potential to function as an effective plant-based yogurt alternative, exhibiting quality comparable to soy yogurt. Organoleptic testing revealed a clear consumer preference for formulations supplemented with inulin, resulting in ratings ranging from "like slightly" to "like extremely." This thorough examination offers significant perspectives on the possibilities of legume-based yogurts in addressing the increasing consumer interest in healthy, plant-derived dairy substitutes

Abstract

The coast of Aceh Besar and Banda Aceh is one of the areas that is a stopover site for migratory shorebirds. This study aims to identify the types of migratory shorebirds and habitat types that support the presence of migratory shorebirds on the coast of Aceh Besar and Banda Aceh. The research was conducted in February to April 2024. The method used in this study is Purposive sampling with Point count. Data collection of migratory shorebirds species is carried out using point count. The study results show that 1.244 individuals migratory shorebird visit on the coast of Aceh Besar, that is Numenius phaeopus, Numenius arquata, Pluvialis fulva, Charadrius mongolus, Charadrius leschenaultii, Gallinago megala, Calidris minuta, Actitis hypoleucos, Xenus cinereus, and Limosa lapponica. Type of habitat used by migratory shorebird are mangroves, ponds, beaches, muddy plains, and grassy fields. On the coast of Banda Aceh 433 individuals migratory shorebird with habitat types of mangroves, ponds, muddy plains and beaches, that is Numenius arquata, Pluvialis fulva, Charadrius mongolus, Charadrius leschenaultii, Actitis hypoleucos. The diversity of migratory shorebirds on the coasts of Aceh Besar and Banda Aceh is in the medium category. It is necessary to establish protection areas for migratory shorebird and educate the public about the importance of preserving the enviroment.

Abstract

The environmental problems in Sumenep are concerning since the establishment of the Suramadu Bridge. These problems include the expansion of the extractive industry in Sumenep causing natural resource assets to shift ownership as well as threats from the mining sector which is causing an environmental crisis. The education sector should be at the forefront of educating the younger generation to face these environmental problems. One of the efforts in the education sector is through the implementation of green education in Sumenep in both formal and non-formal institutions. More comprehensive research regarding the importance of green education, especially in the Sumenep area, is necessary. This research aims to examine how formal and non-formal schools organize their learning starting from systems, curriculum, teaching materials and methods in relation to environmental issues. This research employed a descriptive-qualitative approach with a case-study design at three schools in Sumenep, namely MAN Sumenep, SMA 3 Annuqayah and KKAA-Nature School Community. The data collection methods included the questionnaire and interview. The findings show that the three-types of schools implemented green education with various systems, curricula, teaching materials and methods.
