Abstract

The purpose of this research is to create short story text teaching materials using Canva for 11th-grade students at MAN 1 Medan. This development was undertaken because the previous teaching modules focused solely on text, lacked visual appeal, and did not integrate digital media appropriate to the needs of students born in the digital age. This research applied the ADDIE model, which includes analysis, design, and development, without involving direct implementation with students. Data was obtained through document analysis, teacher interviews, internal observations, and expert assessments. The resulting development resulted in a short story text e-module that combines visual elements, illustrations, and projectbased activities such as short story writing. Expert validation results indicated that this product is suitable for use and aligns with the Independent Curriculum, particularly in supporting creativity, digital literacy, and student learning motivation. This study concluded that Canva is effective as a tool for developing engaging, interactive short story text teaching materials that are appropriate for the characteristics of 21st-century students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penerapan filsafat humanisme dalam pendidikan sekolah dasar untuk membangun karakter anak yang holistik dan berkelanjutan. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan metode studi literatur, yang menganalisis teori-teori pendidikan humanistik dan aplikasinya dalam pendidikan dasar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prinsip-prinsip humanisme, seperti penghargaan terhadap martabat manusia, kebebasan berpikir, dan pengembangan potensi individu, dapat membantu pengembangan karakter anak secara menyeluruh, yang meliputi aspek kognitif, sosial, emosional, dan moral. Namun, tantangan utama dalam penerapannya adalah keterbatasan sumber daya dan paradigma pendidikan yang lebih berfokus pada hasil akademik. Penelitian ini menyarankan agar penerapan pendidikan berbasis humanisme ditingkatkan dengan memberikan perhatian yang lebih besar pada pengembangan karakter dan aspek non-akademik anak, serta menciptakan lingkungan yang mendukung kebebasan berpikir dan eksplorasi.

Abstract

Transformational leadership has become a crucial element in redefining the quality and direction of Islamic Education in the Islamic boarding school-based learning system. This research aims to explore how transformational leadership strategies contribute to the optimization of the Islamic Education curriculum through a visionary, charismatic, and value-oriented approach. Using a qualitative case study design, data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving pesantren leaders, teachers, and curriculum managers. The research findings reveal three key patterns: the integration of inspirational leadership in curriculum innovation, the embodiment of visionary strategies in pedagogical practice, and the institutionalization of charismatic influence in educational transformation. These dynamics collectively reinforce moral values, teacher professionalism, and collaborative curriculum development. The novelty of this research lies in the identification of a spiritual leadership framework that combines managerial effectiveness with ethical integrity. This research shows that transformational leadership is crucial to implementing and sustaining value-based holistic curriculum reforms in Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

This study analyze how Papuan students adapt to the local culture within the social setting of Sriwijaya University. Using a qualitative method, data were gathered through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The participants included five Papuan students along with one supporting informant for member checking. The results show that the adaptation process occurs in two forms: autoplastic and alloplastic. Autoplastic adaptation is reflected in the students’ efforts to adjust themselves to the new environment, such as through language use, dietary changes, understanding local traditions, adapting to social norms, climate differences, and campus technology. The key obstacles they face involve unfamiliar staple foods, language difficulties, climate variations, and limited technological proficiency. Meanwhile, alloplastic adaptation appears when students take active roles in cross-cultural interactions, share elements of Papuan culture, engage in diverse campus activities, and gain positive social recognition from local peers. Overall, their adaptation develops gradually and is greatly facilitated by a supportive campus atmosphere and harmonious social.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the understanding of science education students at Medan State University about junk food and its effects on health. The background of this study reflects the increasing consumption of fast food among students, which can lead to various health problems such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and metabolic disorders. This study used a descriptive quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. A total of 30 participants selected through purposive sampling technique completed a questionnaire that tested their understanding of the characteristics of junk food and its health impacts. The results revealed that the majority of students had a good understanding of junk food (66.6%) and the effects of junk food consumption (80%). This finding indicates that a science education background has a significant influence on improving nutritional literacy among students. The results of the Chi-Square test showed a significant relationship between the level of understanding of junk food and knowledge about the effects of junk food consumption (p = 0.001), indicating that the higher the students' knowledge about junk food, the better their understanding of its health risks. However, there were still a small number of participants with low knowledge, so there is a need to strengthen nutrition education through more focused and structured campus programs. This research is expected to be a reference for educational institutions in designing teaching strategies to improve healthy consumption patterns among students.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low involvement of students in the conventional learning process which tends to be passive and less interesting. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the use of technology as an interactive learning tool in increasing student participation and learning motivation. The methodology used is literature study and observation limited to technology-based learning practices in several classes, focusing on the use of educational applications, online learning platforms, and interactive media such as videos and simulations. The results of the study show that the application of technology is able to create a more dynamic learning environment, increase student interaction with materials, and encourage collaboration between students. Additionally, technology allows teachers to provide quick feedback and provide more personalized learning. Overall, the use of technology as an interactive learning tool has proven to be effective in improving student engagement and learning quality.

Abstract

This article examines the role of Cognitive Restructuring as an effective psychological strategy for improving focus, emotional regulation, and developing a champion mentality in athletes. Using a literature review method, this research examines various scientific findings related to the implementation of Cognitive Restructuring in the context of competitive sports. The results indicate that cognitive restructuring helps athletes identify and transform negative, irrational, and unproductive thoughts into more adaptive, realistic, and empowering thought patterns. This process contributes to improved concentration, anxiety management, emotional stability, and strengthened motivation and self-efficacy. Furthermore, this technique strengthens athletes' mental readiness to face competitive pressure, performance demands, and the dynamics of the sporting environment. Thus, Cognitive Restructuring can be a sustainable intervention in developing a champion mentality while supporting optimal athlete performance across various sports.

Abstract

This study aims to provide solutions through the use of interesting and interactive learning media, namely pop up books so that fourth-grade students of SDN 198/I Pasar Baru in the 2025/2026 Academic Year who have difficulty in understanding climate concepts in a more concrete way through vivid visualization. Pop up books as three-dimensional learning media are specifically designed to improve students' process skills. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with two observation cycles including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 17 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation of learning activities to assess the improvement of students' process skills during the use of pop up book media. The results of the study showed an increase in students' process skills between before and after the use of pop up book media. Process skills that were initially low in the pre-action stage then increased gradually until the second meeting of cycle two. This means that the use of pop up book media is very effective in improving students' process skills in observing, asking questions, designing experiments, and communicating scientifically in science learning. The results of this study concluded that pop-up books can be an effective and innovative learning tool for improving the process skills of fourth-grade students at SDN 198/I Pasar Baru. Utilizing this media can also encourage teachers to be more creative in designing learning methods that meet students' developmental needs.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami bagaimana pengembangan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) yang memanfaatkan ethnosains dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa di jenjang Sekolah Menengah Pertama. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode Systematic Literature Review, yang mengikuti langkah-langkah PRISMA dalam proses mencari, memilih, dan menganalisis artikel. Sumber artikel dikumpulkan dari basis data Google Scholar dan SINTA dengan rentang tahun 2021 sampai 2025 agar informasi yang didapat sesuai dengan perkembangan pembelajaran IPA terbaru. Ditemukan sebanyak 21 artikel yang memenuhi kriteria dan dianalisis untuk menemukan pola temuan yang komprehensif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LKPD berbasis ethnosains efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis melalui kegiatan belajar yang kontekstual, eksploratif, dan dekat dengan budaya lokal siswa. Penyatuan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal dalam LKPD membantu siswa menghubungkan konsep ilmu pengetahuan dengan fenomena di sekitar mereka, sehingga meningkatkan pemahaman, kemampuan menganalisis, dan semangat belajar. Selain itu, beberapa penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan E-LKPD berbasis ethnosains mampu menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang lebih interaktif dan mendukung kemandirian belajar. Secara keseluruhan, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan ethnosains dalam pembuatan LKPD merupakan strategi yang relevan dan efektif untuk memenuhi tuntutan pendidikan abad ke-21 serta mendukung penerapan Kurikulum Merdeka.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the limited use of interactive learning media in teaching biographical texts, which results in students’ low understanding of event sequences, characters, and moral values in biographies. This study aims to develop an interactive e-book titled “Jejak Waktu, Jejak Inspirasi” as an engaging and accessible learning medium for students. The research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Product validation was carried out by a material expert, a design expert, and a practitioner to determine the feasibility of the e-book. The validation results indicated that the interactive e-book fell into the “Highly Valid” category, making it feasible for student trials. Practicality testing through student response questionnaires showed a “Highly Practical” category, indicating that the e-book effectively supported comprehension. Furthermore, effectiveness testing was conducted through pretest and posttest assessments, which showed a significant increase in learning outcomes, with all students achieving the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM). The N-Gain score was categorized as “High,” demonstrating that the e-book successfully improved students’ understanding of biographical texts. Thus, the interactive e-book “Jejak Waktu, Jejak Inspirasi” is declared feasible, practical, and effective to be used as a learning medium for biographical text material in elementary schools. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh minimnya penggunaan media pembelajaran interaktif pada materi teks biografi, sehingga pemahaman siswa terhadap alur peristiwa, tokoh, dan nilai biografi masih rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan e-book interaktif “Jejak Waktu, Jejak Inspirasi” sebagai alternatif media yang menarik dan mudah diakses peserta didik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE, meliputi tahap analisis, perancangan, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Validasi produk dilakukan oleh ahli materi, ahli desain, dan ahli praktisi untuk mengetahui kelayakan e-book. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa e-book interaktif berada pada kategori “Sangat Valid”, sehingga layak untuk diuji cobakan kepada peserta didik. Uji kepraktisan melalui angket respons siswa menunjukkan kategori “Sangat Praktis” dan dinilai membantu pemahaman materi. Selanjutnya, uji keefektifan dilakukan melalui pretest dan posttest, dan diperoleh peningkatan hasil belajar yang signifikan, dengan seluruh peserta didik mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM). Nilai N-Gain berada pada kategori “Tinggi”, yang menunjukkan bahwa e-book mampu meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap teks biografi. Dengan demikian, e-book interaktif “Jejak Waktu, Jejak Inspirasi” dinyatakan layak, praktis, dan efektif digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran pada materi teks biografi di sekolah dasar.
