Abstract

The problem in this study was the low conceptual understanding in the IPAS subject among sixth-grade students at SDN 1 Binakarya Buana. This study aimed to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on students’ conceptual understanding in the IPAS subject. The research method used was a quasi-experimental research design with a nonequivalent control group design. The population of this study consisted of 45 students. The sample was determined using a non-probability sampling technique with a saturated sampling method, so the entire population was used as the research sample. Data collection techniques included test methods in the form of essay questions and non-test methods in the form of observation sheets. Hypothesis testing using simple linear regression showed that F-count was greater than F-table (25.646 > 4.35) with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, so it was concluded that there was a significant effect of the use of the Problem Based Learning model on students’ conceptual understanding in the IPAS subject among sixth-grade students at SDN 1 Binakarya Buana.

Abstract

Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) plays a crucial role in developing students’ physical fitness, motor skills, and socio-moral values through structured physical activities; however, recent studies indicate a decline in students’ learning motivation, particularly in contexts where instructional approaches remain conventional and insufficiently innovative. This study aimed to examine the effect of gymball game innovation in PJOK learning on students’ learning motivation. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was employed. The population consisted of 360 tenth-grade students from public senior high schools in Jombang, Indonesia, with 72 participants selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a validated Likert-scale motivation questionnaire adapted to the physical education context and analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test due to the ordinal nature of the data. Results indicated an increase in motivation scores following the intervention, with the median improving from 63 to 72, and statistical testing confirming a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (Z = −6.214, p < 0.05) with a large effect size (r = 0.73). These findings suggest that gymball-based learning innovation positively influences student motivation in PJOK classes. The study highlights the importance of integrating creative and interactive physical learning media to foster engagement and intrinsic motivation, contributing conceptually and practically to the advancement of student-centered physical education pedagogy.

Abstract

This critical thinking ability is very useful in the learning process of students in each lesson, including in mathematics. This study aims to determine how much influence motivation and discipline have on the critical thinking ability of high-class students in mathematics at SD N 44 Padang Mardani. The results of data analysis show that; (1) motivation has a positive and significant effect on students' critical thinking ability, this is indicated by a coefficient value of 0.379 with a t count of 3.975 and a significance of (0.000) < α (0.05); (2) discipline has a positive and significant effect on students' critical thinking skills, this is indicated by a coefficient value of 0.330 with a t count of 2.505 and a significance of (0.000) < α (0.05). (3) motivation and discipline together have a positive and significant effect on students' critical thinking skills. F count of 10.618 and Sig of 0.000. Sig (0.000) < Alpha (0.05). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is an influence of motivation and discipline on the critical thinking skills of high-class students in mathematics at SD N 44 Padang Mardani.

Abstract

Instilling moral values from an early age is an important foundation in civic education to shape the character and personality of children as future citizens. Technological developments and the dynamics of children as future citizens. Technological developments and social dynamics in the digital age have also given rise to challenges in the form of moral degradation that need to be anticipated through education from an early age. This study aims to describe the role of early childhood teachers in instilling moral values as the foundation of early civic education, as well as to examine the learning strategies used in the process. This study uses a literature review method by analyzing various scientific sources in the form of journal articles, books, and academic publications relevant to moral education, civic education, and early childhood education. Data analysis techniques were carried out using content analysis to identify themes, patterns, and key findings from the literature reviewed. The results of the study show that PAUD teachers have a very important role as moral role models, designers of value-based learning, and facilitators of meaningful play activities. This study confirms that strengthening the role of PAUD teachers and applying appropriate learning strategies are the main keys to instilling moral values as the foundation of civic education from an early age.

Abstract

This study employed a Counterbalanced Design research approach using two instructional models: the ARCS Learning Model and Problem-Based Learning (PBL). The research was conducted in the second semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. The population consisted of fifth-grade students from Cluster V elementary schools in Panakukang District. The sample was selected randomly using a random sampling technique from two schools: UPT SPF SD Inpres Panyyikokang 1 and SD Inpres Panyyikokang 2. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation. The data were analyzed using inferential statistical analysis, including tests of normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing through the Independent Sample T-Test. The results showed that both instructional models significantly improved students’ learning outcomes in Pancasila Education among fifth-grade students. Students demonstrated increased understanding of the Pancasila Education material. Although there was no substantial significant difference between the ARCS and PBL models in terms of learning outcomes, both were effective in enhancing students’ comprehension. This study provides a clearer understanding of the effectiveness of each instructional model in improving Pancasila Education learning outcomes among fifth-grade students in Cluster V, Panakukang District.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Miss Imas YouTube audio-visual media on the writing skills of seventh-grade students (Phase D) at SMP Negeri 2 Kota Sungai Penuh. The background of this research is predicated on students' low writing proficiency, attributed to a lack of variety in instructional methods and the minimal use of technology-based learning media. This study employed a quantitative approach with a Quasi-Experimental method (Nonequivalent Control Group Design). The research sample consisted of Class VII B (control group) with 27 students and Class VII D (experimental group) with 27 students, selected using a cluster sampling technique. Data collection was conducted through observation, testing, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis, normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing (t-test) facilitated by Microsoft Excel 365 and IBM SPSS Statistics version 25. The results indicated that the average score of the control group increased from 53.76 in the pre-test to 61.85 in the post-test. Meanwhile, the experimental group’s average score rose significantly from 49.50 in the pre-test to 73.45 in the post-test. Based on the Independent Sample T-test, a significance value of 0.003 (p < 0.05) was obtained, indicating a significant difference in post-test scores between the control and experimental groups. Consequently, it can be concluded that the use of audio-visual media is significantly effective in enhancing students' writing skills. This research implies that Indonesian language teachers can utilize audio-visual media as an effective, innovative, and engaging instructional tool to improve students' writing abilities.

Abstract

This study examines the development of GOJEK’s online transportation services in Padang City during the 2017–2019 period as part of an urban mobility transformation influenced by digital technological advancements. The emergence of GOJEK marked a significant shift in the local transportation system by offering services perceived as more practical, efficient, and transparent compared to conventional modes such as public minivans and base motorcycle taxis. The objectives of this research are to: (1) describe the dynamics of GOJEK’s service development in Padang City, (2) analyze the social and economic impacts arising from its presence, and (3) identify the responses of the community and local government to the introduction of app-based transportation. The research employs the historical method, including heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography, supported by observation, literature review, and interviews with driver-partners and service users. The findings indicate that GOJEK experienced rapid growth from the early stage of its operations, reflected in the increasing number of driver-partners, expansion of service features, and rising public interest. Positive impacts include improved accessibility, greater travel-time efficiency, and the creation of new employment opportunities. However, the development also generated challenges, including resistance from conventional transportation operators, social conflicts, and limitations in local regulations that had not fully accommodated online transportation at the time. Overall, the development of GOJEK in Padang City illustrates the process of urban community adaptation to technological innovation while highlighting the need for policy adjustments at the local level.

Abstract

Education of students' social character through Social Sciences (IPS) education in the millennial era is very important to form individuals who have morality and good social attitudes. In the context of rapid social development, social studies education functions not only as a means of imparting knowledge, but also as a tool for instilling social values ​​such as tolerance, honesty and responsibility. This research aims to explore how social studies education can contribute to the formation of students' social character, as well as the challenges faced in its implementation. Through a literature study approach, this research identifies various methods and strategies used in social studies education to integrate social values. The results show that interactive and collaborative learning, as well as students' involvement in extracurricular activities, can increase their understanding of the importance of social values. Apart from that, the role of teachers as role models in implementing these values ​​also greatly influences students' attitudes. In the millennial era, where social challenges are increasingly complex, social studies education is expected to produce a young generation who is not only academically intelligent but also has strong social character. strong. Thus, social studies education is an important foundation in building a better and more responsible society.

Abstract

The former Bandar Baru red-light district is a region that faces social challenges, especially for teenagers growing up in a dynamic and diverse community. Low levels of religious understanding and financial literacy are among the factors influencing their behavior and lifestyle. This community service program aims to strengthen religious understanding and financial literacy among teenagers through a collaborative educational outreach model between Gatra Adiwangsa Community Service Program (KKN) students from the State Islamic University of North Sumatra and the BOPTN-PkM program from the State Islamic University of North Sumatra. The activities were carried out through several sessions, including the Love, Pride, Understand the Rupiah (CBPR) socialization program, the Care, Recognize, Complain (PEKA) program, an introduction to the QRIS digital payment system, and religious outreach themed "Strengthening Teenagers' Religious Understanding as an Effort to Prevent Free Sex in the Bandar Baru Red-light District." The educational outreach method implemented encouraged the active participation of students from MTS YPI Al-Hilal Bandar Baru and the surrounding community through discussions, questions and answers, and simple simulations. The results of the activities showed an increase in teenagers' understanding of religious values ​​and awareness of Sharia-based financial literacy. This program represents a concrete step by universities to strengthen the character and independence of youth in socially vulnerable areas through a synergy between spiritual and financial education. Abstract

This research is motivated by the low level of students' long jump skills and the lack of student activeness in learning. The demonstration learning model assisted by video tutorials emphasizes the practice of student demonstration skills assisted by video tutorials. This demonstration model assisted by video tutorials is very important because it increases the effectiveness of independent learning through easy-to-understand step-by-step visualization, improves memory, and provides flexible access anytime and anywhere. This media motivates students, facilitates the understanding of abstract concepts, and is efficient for teachers for practical materials. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the demonstration learning model assisted by video tutorials in improving the squat style long jump skills of fourth-grade students of Lamper Lor Elementary School, South Semarang. Sampling used a purposive sampling technique, with a sample of 26 students in the experimental class and 25 students in the control class. Data collection with a practical test of long jump skills covers 4 aspects. Data analysis includes normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis test which are processed with the help of SPSS version 26. The results of the study showed that there was a difference in the effectiveness of the demonstration learning model assisted by video tutorials with the conventional learning model in improving the squat style long jump skills of fourth grade students of Lamper Lor Elementary School, South Semarang, which was indicated by the difference in the average posttest score of the experimental group of 86.30 and the control group with an average of 76.50 with a difference of 9.8. The Sig. value (2-tailed) was 0.046 <0.05 which indicated that there was a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group.
