Abstract

This study aims to analyze the pedagogical competence of economics teachers in implementing the learning process at SMA Negeri 1 Bandar Petalangan. The research focused on two main aspects: lesson planning and lesson implementation. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included economics teachers as the primary informant, with students and the vice principal for curriculum as supporting informants. The results showed that the pedagogical competence of economics teachers in the aspect of lesson planning has been systematically developed, but there are still limitations in the variety of methods and use of learning media. In the aspect of learning implementation, teachers have carried out learning activities according to the planned stages, but the learning process is still dominated by conventional methods, resulting in suboptimal student engagement. Furthermore, the use of learning media and technology is still limited, resulting in a lack of variety in material delivery. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the pedagogical competence of economics teachers in implementing learning at SMA Negeri 1 Bandar Petalangan is not fully optimal, particularly in terms of innovative learning methods and media use. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve pedagogical competence through ongoing training and adequate learning facilities and infrastructure.

Abstract

Learning motivation and the ability to understand mathematical concepts are important competencies in learning. However, PISA results indicate that students' mathematical conceptual understanding remains low. This finding is further supported by preliminary research and several previous studies in Indonesia, including the researcher's initial study at SMPN 8 Bukittinggi. Based on observations and interviews with teachers and students, it is suspected that the low learning motivation and mathematical conceptual understanding of students at SMPN 8 Bukittinggi are caused by the teacher-centered learning process, which leads to students being less active and tending to memorize procedures without understanding the concepts, thus experiencing difficulties in understanding mathematical concepts. The researcher attempted to implement a problem-solving learning model to address these issues. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a significant effect of the problem-solving learning model on the motivation and mathematical conceptual understanding of eighth-grade students at SMPN 8 Bukittinggi. This study was a pre-experimental study using the Static Group Comparison Design (GDC). The population was three eighth-grade students at SMPN 8 Bukittinggi. The sample consisted of students in grades VIII.3 and VIII.2, respectively. Sampling was conducted using the Simple Random Sampling technique after conducting tests for normality, homogeneity of variance, and equality of means on the data population. The instruments in this study were a motivation questionnaire and a test for understanding mathematical concepts. The data analysis technique used the t-test. After passing the prerequisite tests for normality and homogeneity. Based on the results of the data analysis of motivation and students' mathematical concept understanding abilities at the α = 0.05 level using the t-test, for learning motivation, the calculated t>ttable was 6.13>1.67. Then, reviewed again using Minitab Software, the P-value was obtained = 0.000 <α = 0.05, so H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. Meanwhile, for conceptual understanding abilities, the calculated t>ttable was 5.006>1.67, which was also seen using Minitab Software, the P-value was obtained = 0.000 <α = 0.05, H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. So, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence of the problem solver learning model on learning motivation and the ability to understand mathematical concepts of class VIII students of SMPN 8 Bukittinggi in the 2025/2026 academic year.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Cooperative Script learning model on improving the learning outcomes of elementary school students. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method using a nonequivalent control group design. The subjects of this study consisted of two classes, namely an experimental class and a control class, each comprising 30 students. The experimental class was taught using the Cooperative Script model, while the control class received conventional instruction. Data were collected through learning outcome tests in the form of pretest and posttest, supported by observation of student activities. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including normality test, homogeneity test, independent sample t-test, and N-Gain analysis to determine the level of improvement in students’ learning outcomes. The results showed that the average posttest score of the experimental class was higher than that of the control class. In addition, the N-Gain value of the experimental class was in the medium to high category, while the control class was in the low to medium category. The hypothesis testing indicated a significant difference between the two classes, suggesting that the use of the Cooperative Script model significantly affects students’ learning outcomes. The implementation of this model encourages active student engagement through reading, summarizing, and explaining the material in pairs, which enhances students’ conceptual understanding. Therefore, the Cooperative Script model can be recommended as an effective alternative learning strategy to improve the quality of learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the strategies used by teachers in developing communication and motor skills for children with special needs (CSN) in special schools. Communication and motor skills are fundamental to the independence and social interaction of CSN, but their development requires an adaptive approach according to the type and level of children's barriers. The method used is a literature study with a qualitative descriptive approach, analyzing various research results and scientific literature related to learning strategies for CSN. The results show that teacher strategies include: (1) the use of total communication (verbal, sign, and pictures) based on Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), (2) the application of play therapy and sensorimotor activities to develop gross and fine motor skills, and (3) an individual approach through Individual Learning Programs (PPI). The success of the strategy is largely determined by teacher competence, collaboration with therapists and parents, and the availability of adequate assistive devices. This study recommends the need for continuous training for teachers on assistive technology and evidence-based early intervention approaches.

Abstract

In an effort to enhance competitiveness in the Islamic banking industry, this study investigates the fundraising strategy of PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk. KCP Sukabumi. Data were collected through banking operation documentation, field observations, and in-depth interviews using descriptive qualitative research methods. The results show that Bank Muamalat KCP Sukabumi uses an integrative strategy to increase Current Account Saving Account (CASA) through savings and checking products based on Wadiah and Mudharabah contracts. This is optimized through digital transformation with the Muamalat DIN application, institutional collaboration, and a community-based marketing approach that leverages the strong religious base in the Sukabumi region to achieve this goal. Although the bank is known as a pioneer of pure Islamic banks, according to a SWOT analysis, their limited physical infrastructure and intense competition from large banks and digital entities. This fundraising strategy has proven very beneficial in reducing funding costs, maintaining liquidity stability, and strengthening customer loyalty through spiritual and emotional approaches. According to this study, to maintain competitive advantage and sustainable profitability in the local and national financial markets, Bank Muamalat must strengthen its digital ecosystem and improve Islamic financial literacy.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the lack of contextual teaching materials in Indonesian language instruction, particularly regarding the main idea of a paragraph in fourth-grade elementary school, which causes students to struggle with understanding the content of reading passages. This study was conducted in fourth-grade classes at SD Negeri 03 Bandar Buat, SD Negeri 16 Pagambiran, and SD Negeri 35 Pagambiran. The objective of this study is to produce a valid, practical, and effective ethnolinguistics-based Indonesian language teaching module capable of improving students’ learning outcomes in identifying the main idea of a paragraph. The research design employed is a Research and Development (R&D) study using the 4D model, which includes the Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages. The developed teaching module was validated by subject matter experts, media experts, and language experts using a validation sheet. The practicality test was conducted through teacher and student response questionnaires, while the effectiveness test was conducted through pre-tests and post-tests analyzed using N-Gain. The results of the study indicate that the teaching module achieved a validity level of 93.69%, categorized as highly valid, , practicality of 95.83% among teachers and approximately 97% among students in the “very practical” category, as well as effectiveness with an N -Gain at the pilot school, SD Negeri 03 Bandar Buat, was 89.52%, at the first implementation school, SD Negeri 16 Pagambiran, 93.45%, and at the second implementation school, SD Negeri 35 Pagambiran, 95.54%; all three schools fell into the effective category. Thus, the ethnolinguistics-based teaching module is deemed valid, practical, and effective for use in Indonesian language instruction.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low reading comprehension ability of fourth-grade elementary school students and the suboptimal use of digital learning media, even though technological facilities such as projectors and internet networks are available at school. Learning is still dominated by conventional methods so that students are less active and experience difficulties in understanding the content of the reading, finding the main idea, and drawing conclusions. This study aims to develop an Indonesian e-book using the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model on reading comprehension material in fourth-grade elementary schools that is valid, practical, and effective. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects were fourth-grade students in three elementary schools. Data collection techniques were carried out through validation sheets, practicality questionnaires, and pre-tests and post-tests. The results showed that the developed E-Book had a validity level of 94.25% with a very valid category. The practicality of the E-Book was categorized as very practical, with teacher responses of 95.83% and 97.91%, respectively, and student responses ranging from 94.34% to 96.42%. The effectiveness of the E-Book was demonstrated by the improvement in student learning outcomes, with N-Gain values ​​of 81.61%, 92.56%, and 84.58% in the effective category. Thus, the Indonesian E-Book based on the CIRC model is feasible, practical, and effective for improving the reading comprehension skills of fourth-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of a web-based early childhood education (PAUD) administration and management information system through the application of the ADDIE model in improving the quality of educational services. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research subjects include school principals, teachers, administrative staff, and parents of students. Data collection techniques are conducted through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The study results indicate that the web-based PAUD administration and management information system has the potential to be a feasible and effective medium in supporting administrative management, data processing, and information delivery in PAUD institutions. The implementation of this system also contributes to improving work efficiency and the quality of educational services. Thus, a web-based information system through the ADDIE model can become a solution in supporting.

Abstract

This study examines issues related to the physical environment of classrooms, specifically regarding lighting and noise levels that may affect students’ comfort and learning effectiveness. The objective of this study is to evaluate the lighting and noise levels in classrooms at Brawijaya Smart School Elementary School in Malang based on applicable building utility standards. The method used is a quantitative approach through field observations, employing a lux meter to measure lighting intensity and a sound level meter to measure noise levels at several points and time intervals during learning activities. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively by comparing the measurement results against national standards, namely 250–300 lux for lighting and ≤55 dB for noise. The results of the study indicate that most lighting levels remain below the recommended standards, except at certain times when the contribution of natural lighting increases. Meanwhile, noise levels consistently exceed the established thresholds, indicating suboptimal acoustic conditions.These findings indicate that lighting distribution is uneven and noise control is ineffective, which could potentially reduce students’ concentration and learning effectiveness. Therefore, improvements to the lighting and noise control systems are needed to create a more comfortable learning environment that meets standards.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are an important 21st century competency that needs to be developed, but are still low in junior high school students. This study aims to describe the implementation of learning and the improvement of critical thinking skills. The method used is a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design of the One Group Pretest-Posttest type. A total of 32 students of class VII A at a private junior high school in Surabaya were selected as research participants using a purposive sampling technique. The data collection instrument was a critical thinking ability test sheet containing 10 descriptive questions on the theme of water pollution. Data processing was carried out through the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, the Paired Sample T-Test, and the calculation of the N-gain score. The research findings showed that there was a significant difference between the scores before and after the intervention, with a significance value of 0.000 (below the threshold of 0.05). The N-gain value obtained was 0.60 indicating an increase in the moderate category. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the combination of the guided inquiry model and E-LKPD Live Worksheets positively contributes to the development of students' critical thinking skills.
