Abstract

Technological advancements have given rise to a generation that is increasingly connected to artificial intelligence (AI). AI chatbots are used not only to obtain information but also as a medium for self-disclosure to gain emotional relief and support related to psychological well-being. However, the effect of self-disclosure to AI chatbots on psychological well-being still requires further clarification, particularly when considering the mediating role of perceived empathy. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of self-disclosure to AI chatbots on psychological well-being among Generation Z and to test the mediating role of perceived empathy. This study employs a quantitative approach using an explanatory research design involving 437 AI users. Data were collected using Ryff’s Psychological Well-Being Scale (RPWB), the Wheeless Self-Disclosure Scale (WSDS), and the Perceived Empathy Trust Scale (PETS), and were analyzed using simple linear regression and PROCESS Model 4. The results indicate that self-disclosure to an AI chatbot does not significantly affect psychological well-being (p > 0.05). However, perceived empathy mediated the effect of self-disclosure on psychological well-being (BootLLCI = 0.006; BootULCI = 0.051). These findings suggest that perceived empathy is an important mechanism that explains the influence of self-disclosure to AI chatbots on psychological well-being. This study has implications for AI chatbot developers to consider designing chatbots that can respond more empathetically and relevantly to support users’ psychological well-being.

Abstract

The lack of students activity in the Indonesian language learning process is one of the problems found in grade V students. This study aims to determine the effect of the use of the Wordwall educational platform on the activeness of grade V students in Indonesian language subjects at SD Negeri 159 Palembang. This study uses a Quasi Experimental research type with a quantitative approach and a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study was all grade V students, with the sampling technique using saturated sampling, so that the sample amounted to 43 students consisting of class V A as the experimental class and class V B as the control class. The research instrument used was a student activity questionnaire that had been tested for the validity of the data using validity and reliability. The data analysis technique uses normality tests and homogeneity tests, while the hypothesis testing technique uses the Independent Sample T-Test. The results of the study show that there is an influence of the use of the Wordwall educational platform on student activity. This is shown by the results of the hypothesis test with a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05, so that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. In addition, descriptively there was an increase in the average student activity in the experimental class from 82.29 to 92.29. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the use of the Wordwall educational platform on the activeness of grade V students in Indonesian subjects.

Abstract

The digital age presents serious challenges for the world of education, particularly regarding the character development of students, which is threatened by a culture of instant gratification, a rapid flow of information, and a potential crisis in moral values. This study aims to analyze the relevance of perennialist educational values as a stable philosophical foundation for strengthening students’ character amid the rapid pace of digital learning. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method with a descriptive-critical qualitative approach, this study systematically analyzed 21 selected academic sources from Google Scholar and SINTA (2021–2026). The findings indicate that the implementation of Perennialism can be realized through five key strategies: (1) the challenges of education in the digital age, (2) the objectives and urgency of Perennialism, (3) 21st-century learning strategies, (4) character development based on the great books, and (5) the role of teachers as role models. These findings affirm that perennialism is not the antithesis of technological progress, but rather a moral compass that guides the wise and responsible use of technology, thereby fostering a generation that is not only technically competent but also intellectually mature and of noble character.
