Abstract

This research is based on the application of an ineffective learning model, which has resulted in many students failing to meet the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM). This research aim to determine the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Student Worksheets (LKPD) on the mathematics learning outcomes of class 5 students at SD 1 Undaan Kidul. This research uses a quantitative approach method with a Quasi Experimental Design, specifically the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sampling technique uses total sampling. The data collection techniques in this research used pretest and posttest assessments administered to class 5B as the experimental class and class 5A as the control class. The data analysis techniques used are the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, homogeneity test, t-test, and N-Gain test. The research hypothesis states that there is a difference in learning outcomes between students who use the Problem Based Learning model assisted by LKPD and those who use the conventional model. Based on the results, the mean N-Gain for the experimental class was 61.18%, which is categorized as quite effective. Meanwhile, the mean N-Gain for the control class was 29.99%, which is categorized as failed. It was concluded that the use of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by LKPD is quite effective in increasing the mathematics learning outcomes of class 5 students at SD 1 Undaan Kidul.

Abstract

Mathematics is something that is not far from formulas, of course several concepts will arise in solving problems in mathematics. If in and several concepts This research aims to describe students' misconceptions about the material on operations to calculate mixed fractions based on concept understanding in the criteria for high mathematical understanding, the criteria for moderate mathematical understanding, and the criteria for low mathematical understanding. The subjects of this research were fifth grade students at SDN Ngagel Rejo I/396 Surabaya. One subject has high mathematical understanding criteria, one subject has moderate mathematical understanding criteria, and one subject has low mathematical understanding criteria. The form of this research is qualitative. The data collection technique used was written tests and interviews, while the research instrument used was a misconception test which consisted of description/essay questions and interview guidelines. The data analysis technique for this research is through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. This research was conducted on class V students of SDN Ngagel Rejo I/396 Surabaya. The results of this research show that several students stated that they still had difficulty operating mixed fractions into improper fractions and vice versa, they encountered several students who had difficulty working with fractions with different denominators, were unable to simplify fractions, and had difficulty understanding word problems.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of simulation methods in improving students' conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills in elementary education within the digital era. Using a quasi-experimental approach with a pretest-posttest control group design, the study involved students from an elementary school. Data were collected through observation, tests, and interviews. The results indicate that students taught with simulation methods demonstrated significantly higher improvement in conceptual understanding and critical thinking compared to those taught with conventional methods. This research highlights the potential of digital-based simulations as an innovative pedagogical tool in elementary education.

Abstract

Students' critical and analytical thinking skills in analyzing geographical problems are still low due to the dominance of conventional learning methods, such as lectures, which do not give students the opportunity to digest the material deeply. This study aims to determine the effect of Case Based Learning implementation on the improvement of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) of SMAN 1 Tilatang Kamang students. This research used Quasy Experiment method with quantitative approach and this research design used Pre-test - Post-test Control Group Design. The study population was class X students in the 2024/2025 academic year with a total of 245 students from 7 classes. The research sample consisted of class X.E5 as the control class (34 students) and class X.E3 as the experimental class (33 students) selected using purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques include observation, documentation, and tests using objective questions according to HOTS categories (analyzing, evaluating, creating, critical thinking, and problem solving). The data were analyzed using IBM SPSS 27 with the N-gain test and T-test. The results showed that the average Pre-test of the experimental class was 43.01 and Post-test was 75.07, while the control class obtained Pre-test 40.13 and Post-test 62.99. There was a significant increase in the experimental class. The Paired Sample T-Test test results show a significance level (sig) of 0.001 because the significance is smaller than 0.05, so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, the application of Case Based Learning has a positive effect on increasing students' HOTS in geography subjects at SMAN 1 Tilatang Kamang, as seen from the learning outcomes and student activities.

Abstract

Low student motivation in learning, lack of student learning outcomes, minimal student understanding of HOTS questions, and lack of student participation in learning. Teachers still use inadequate and monotonous learning models, such as implementing lecture-based learning models that make students feel bored, making the learning less effective and enjoyable. The study aimed to determine how much influence the application of case-based learning to improve students' higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) at SMAN 1 Batipuh. The quantitative research method is experimental. This research design uses a pre-test-post-test control group design. The study population was 143 class XI geography students at Phase F of SMAN 1 Batipuh 2024/2025. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. The sample in this study selected two classes, of which 1 class was used as an experimental class, namely XI geo four and XI geo two as the control group. Data collection techniques were observation, documentation, and testing. The research instrument is a test sheet in the form of an objectif (case study) with an assessment according to the criteria of the higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) category, such as analyzing, evaluating, creating, thinking critically, and solving problems. The data analysis technique uses statistical analysis to process the data obtained. The data obtained from this study were processed with the help of IBM SPSS 30 for the T and N-gain tests. The study results revealed that the application of case-based learning positively improves students' high-order thinking skills (HOTS) in geography subjects at SMAN 1 Batipuh, as seen from students' learning outcomes and learning activities. The results of this study are that there is an effect of the application of Case Based Learning on population dynamics problem material to improve Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) of students in class XI Geo 4. The average post-test of the experimental class was 83.48 and the control class was 53.80. Data analysis using the Paired T-Test from the calculation data obtained a significance level (sig) of 0.001 because the significance is less than 0.05, so HO is rejected and Ha is accepted.

Abstract

Students' creative thinking skills in Geography subjects are still not optimal. This is reflected in the lack of students' ability to generate new ideas, provide alternative solutions to geographical problems, and limited ability to analyze geographical phenomena in depth. The study aimed to determine how much influence the application of 3D diorama media based on the project-based learning (PjBL) model has on improving students' creative thinking skills in geography subjects at SMAN 1 Padang Panjang. The type of quantitative quasi-experimental research comes from the development of actual experiments. The total research population of Phase E SMAN 1 Padang Panjang students in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The sample determination method used in this study was the purposive sampling technique. The research sample of Phase E class X.9 consisted of 36 students used as the experimental class, and Phase E class X.6 consisted of 36 students used as the control class. Data collection techniques were observation, documentation, and testing. The data obtained from this study were processed with the help of IBM SPSS for the T and N-gain tests. The results of the study revealed that the application of 3D Diorama media based on Project Based Learning (PjBL) Model has a positive and significant effect on students' creative thinking skills in geography subjects at SMAN 1 Padang Panjang in the practical category with an average overall percentage reaching 71.72% in the reasonably creative and the results of the N-Gain test with a value of 65.996% in the reasonably practical category. This shows that the 3D Diorama Media Based on Project Based Learning (PjBL) Model is more effective in improving creative thinking and student learning outcomes than conventional learning models.

Abstract

Low student motivation in learning, minimal student understanding of HOTS questions and lack of student learning outcomes for learning geography. Geography learning tends to be boring and meaningless, so learning objectives are not achieved. The weakness in geography learning is inadequate and monotonous learning models. Lecture-based learning models are often said to be less effective in geography learning. The study aimed to determine students' HOTS abilities after applying the case-based learning model to geography subjects at SMAN 1 Pariangan. Quantitative research type using experimental methods—Pre-test - Post-test control group design research design. The research population was all students of class XI geography Phase F SMAN 1 Pariangan 2024/2025 with 127 students. The research sample was class XI Geography 2 and class XI Geography 3 at SMAN 1 Pariangan. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. The sample in this study selected two classes, of which 1 class was used as an experimental class, namely XI Geo two and XI Geo three as the control group Data collection techniques were observation, documentation and testing. The research instrument is an objective test question sheet (case study) with assessment according to the criteria of the higher order thinking skills (HOTS) category such as analyzing, evaluating, creating, thinking critically and solving problems.The data obtained from this study were analyzed with the help of IBM SPSS 30 for the T and N-gain tests. The results of this study obtained a Pre-test Experiment score of 51.17, Post-Test results of 82.77, while the control class had a Pre-Test score of 49.29 and a Post-test of 69.97. There was a significant increase in the Pre-Test and Post-Test of the Experimental Class. This shows that the application of Case Based Learning has a positive effect on improving students' high-level thinking skills (HOTS) in geography subjects at SMAN 1 Pariangan, which can be seen from the learning outcomes and learning activities of students.Keywords: Case Based Learning, Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS),Environmental Problems Material,Quality Education, Geografi Learning.

Abstract

Critical thinking is often an ability that can stimulate cognitive reasoning and is very important for students to have. However, in practice this ability is difficult to apply in science learning, in the application of this research is to determine the effect of the application of guided inquiry models based on animated videos on students' critical thinking skills. The method used is a quasi experiment method with a non-equivalent control group design. The sampling technique of this study used non-probability sampling technique with purposive sampling technique. The population of this study was 54 people and the samples used were students in class IV A and IV B. Data collection techniques with test. Hypothesis testing using simple linear regression with the results of Fhitung> Ftabel, namely 29.964> 4.26 and a significance value of 0.000 <0.05, so it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of applying the guided inquiry model based on animated video with IPAS material on the critical thinking skills of SD Negeri 1 Triharjo students.

Abstract

Sustainable living has become an essential concept in maintaining ecosystem balance and managing natural resources. One of the environmental issues frequently occurring around SMP Negeri 1 Long Mesangat is the uncontrolled growth of aquatic weeds, such as water hyacinth, which can disrupt the ecosystem. This study aims to describe the planning, organization, implementation, monitoring, and the relationship between sustainable living and aquatic weeds. The research findings indicate that:1)Planning involves identifying environmental issues in the school, setting objectives, designing the curriculum, drafting activity plans, analyzing resources, and determining success indicators.2)Organization includes forming a team, delegating tasks, providing facilities and infrastructure, and scheduling activities.3)Implementation consists of collecting, cleaning, and fermenting aquatic weeds for two weeks, extracting leachate, and drying the remaining plant material.4)Monitoring is carried out through teacher evaluations by comparing results with targets, as well as individual and group reflections to assess the project's impact on the environment and learning.5)Sustainable living and aquatic weeds are interconnected in environmental management, where excessive aquatic weeds caused by pollution can be productively utilized. This helps reduce waste, maintain the balance of aquatic ecosystems, and support recycling practices and sustainability.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the meaning of the Keramba Apung dance movements in Aro Village, Muara Bulian District, Jambi. This study is a qualitative descriptive study. The data consists of primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques with direct observation, interviews, and documentation. while data analysis is carried out through data collection, analyzing and describing and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the Keramba Apung dance is a traditional dance that grows and develops in Aro village. This dance is often used in traditional ceremonies, or welcoming guests. This dance describes the character of the Aro Village community, namely hard workers, helping each other and working together. In the Keramba Apung dance there are several types of movements that have meaning in each movement, namely; such as the Canon Movement as a depiction of the happiness and joy of the community when working together to make floating cages, the Broken movement as a depiction of working together/working together to make floating cages or working together when the fish harvest arrives, meaningful movements in the form of the Hand movement on the chest and gracefully downwards as a depiction of gratitude to Allah SWT, and the Closing Worship movement as a depiction of respect. The Floating Cage Dance is a reflection of the Aro village community carrying out fish cultivation up to harvesting fish in the Floating Cage
