Abstract

Early childhood education must be designed meaningfully and child-centered to foster creative thinking as a fundamental 21st-century competency. Creative thinking in early childhood is reflected in children’s capacity to generate diverse, flexible, and original ideas, as well as to develop concepts grounded in their learning experiences. The Project Based Learning (PjBL) model is considered relevant for nurturing this competency, as it engages children actively in learning through contextual, project-based activities. When integrated with the Deep Learning approach, instruction extends beyond activity completion to encompass meaning-making, experiential reflection, and purposeful understanding of learning objectives. This study aims to analyze and synthesize findings from prior research on the implementation of the Project Based Learning model integrated with Deep Learning in developing creative thinking ability in early childhood. A qualitative approach employing a literature review method was applied, examining 20 peer-reviewed articles published between 2020 and 2025. The findings reveal that Project Based Learning encourages children to develop ideational fluency, cognitive flexibility, and simple problem-solving skills through meaningful learning experiences. The Deep Learning approach strengthens children’s cognitive processes by emphasizing comprehension, reflection, and the connection between learning experiences and generated ideas. The integration of both approaches has been shown to create learning environments that are not oriented toward a single correct answer, but instead accommodate the diversity of children’s thinking.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve the creativity of children aged 5-6 years through the use of loose parts media at TK Pertiwi Lau Dawe Kudus. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages conducted in two cycles. The participants were 12 children from Group B. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research instrument used an observation sheet covering creativity indicators such as originality, elaboration, curiosity, imagination, risk-taking, exploration, and initiative. The findings revealed that the use of loose parts media significantly improved children's creativity. In the pre-cycle stage, no children reached the “Very Well Developed” category (0%). After the implementation of Cycle I, the percentage increased to 25%, and further improved to 83% in Cycle II. The learning process became more interactive, enjoyable, and child-centered, allowing children to freely explore, imagine, and create based on their own ideas. The study concludes that loose parts media is effective in enhancing early childhood creativity and can be used as an innovative learning medium in early childhood education settings.

Abstract

The low communication skills of early childhood children in constructing sentences, responding to questions, and expressing ideas orally became the background of this study. This research aims to examine the effectiveness of the Story Box Game media based on deep learning on the communication skills of children aged 5-6 years at TK Jannatul Firdaus Makassar. This study employed an experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design involving 15 children as research subjects. Data were collected through observation instruments and analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Wilcoxon Signed Rank test, and N-Gain analysis. The results showed that the implementation of the Story Box Game based on deep learning had a significant effect on children’s communication skills. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank test results indicated a value of Z = -3.487 with Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.001. Furthermore, the N-Gain analysis result was 0.55, which falls into the medium category. The improvement in communication skills was reflected in children’s increased confidence in speaking, better coherence in expressing ideas, and richer vocabulary usage. Therefore, the Story Box Game media based on deep learning is effective in improving early childhood communication skills

Abstract

Abstract: Early childhood requires optimal stimulation in social-emotional development, including emotional self-control skills. However, some children still experience difficulties in regulating their emotions. This study aims to analyze the implementation of mindfulness strategies through yoga activities in supporting the emotional self-control of children aged 4–6 years. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design conducted at KB-TK Lab UM Malang. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The findings revealed that yoga activities were implemented systematically as part of the Merdeka Curriculum through simple physical movements, breathing exercises, and concentration practices that helped children become calmer, more focused, and better able to regulate their emotions. Supporting factors included school support, teachers’ understanding of mindfulness practices, adequate facilities and infrastructure, and the involvement of teaching assistant students. Meanwhile, the challenges identified were limited time allocation and the diverse emotional conditions of children, which resulted in inconsistent implementation of the activities. Abstract

Kindergarten (TK) teachers hold a strategic position in the child protection system due to their intensive daily interactions with young children. This study aims to describe the professional development needs of kindergarten teachers in the field of child protection. This study used a survey research method involving 82 kindergarten teachers spread across the provinces of Jakarta and West Java as respondents. Data collection was conducted using a Likert-scale questionnaire distributed using G-form. The analysis results showed that all three dimensions of need were in the highly needed category: the knowledge dimension obtained the highest mean (M=3.61), followed by the skills dimension (M=3.55), and the professional development support dimension (M=3.51). Overall, more than 93% of respondents stated that they strongly needed capacity building in all aspects measured. The item with the highest score was recognizing signs of violence and neglect (M=3.65), while incident documentation received the lowest score but was still highly needed (M=3.41). These findings emphasize the urgency of a structured, sustainable professional development program that is based on the real needs of PAUD teachers in the field, particularly in the field of child protection.

Abstract

The existence of this parenting content has several impacts on millennial parents who consume it. The purpose of this study is to find out the extent of the relationship between parenting content and changes in parenting styles, parents' way of assessing the credibility of parenting content, the process of adopting existing parenting ideas, and short-term changes in parenting styles. The method used is quantitative with the Spearman's Rho correlation data analysis technique. The research data was processed using SPSS 27.0. Validity and reliability tests were carried out before the questionnaire was distributed to respondents. Next, the Spearman's Rho test was performed on the primary data collected to test the hypothesis. The results showed a significance value (1-tailed) of p < .001, where a value of 0.01 < .005, meaning that H0 was rejected. From these results, it can be explained that parenting content on social media has a positive and significant correlation to changes in parenting styles of millennial parents. The correlation coefficient value was obtained at 0.489, indicating that the influence of variables has a positive direction. The results of this study emphasize that parenting content on social media has a positive impact, one of which is a change in parenting style that prioritizes democratic values. The conclusion of this study shows that the level of correlation strength is sufficient between parenting content on social media and changes in parenting style.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of deep learning in early childhood education (PAUD) at TK Pembina ABA 54 Semarang based on the mindful, meaningful, and joyful (MMJ) principles at the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. Using a qualitative single case study design, it involved two classroom teachers (Class B1 and A1) and children aged 4–6 years. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observation of 17 child-engagement indicators, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles & Huberman interactive model and validated through source and technique triangulation. Results show that deep learning implementation proceeded systematically across all three stages since teachers attended technical training in 2025, with the mindful principle strongest at planning, meaningful dominant at implementation and evaluation, and joyful permeating all stages; all child-engagement indicators fell within the emerging to consistently emerging categories. A dense religious program schedule and parental demands for early literacy and numeracy (calistung) were structural barriers requiring active curriculum negotiation. This study contributes to a cyclical, MMJ-based deep learning implementation model adaptive to religious-based early childhood education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Fine motor skills need to be developed from an early age because they involve the ability to control and coordinate the movements of the small muscles in the fingers and hands, which are integrated with visual functions and thus play a role in supporting the learning process and various daily activities. This study was conducted to analyze the effect of a demonstration method aided by educational video media on the fine motor development of 5- to 6-year-old children at RA Ar-Ridha. A quantitative approach was applied in this study using a quasi-experimental design of the Nonequivalent Control Group type, involving 29 children divided into an experimental group (n = 15) and a control group (n = 14). Data were collected using a checklist-based observation sheet covering aspects of eye-hand coordination, finger muscle control, and movement accuracy. Subsequently, the data were statistically analyzed using an Independent Samples t-test, which showed that the experimental group achieved a mean posttest score of 26.60, while the control group achieved a mean score of 19.29. A significance value of 0.000 (p<0.05) indicates that the use of a demonstration method aided by educational video media has a significant effect on improving the fine motor skills of young children.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the sub-optimal speaking morals among children aged 5-6 years in Group B at TK Jamil Hasan. This issue was characterized by a lack of habituation in greeting, reciting thayyibah phrases, and using polite language in daily interactions. This study aimed to optimize childrens speaking morals through the implementation of a simulation method using educational cards based on thayyibah phrases. The methodology used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) following the Kemmis & McTaggart model, conducted over two cycles with two meetings per cycle. The study participants were 15 children (9 boys and 6 girls). Data collection techniques included structured observations, field notes, and visual documentation. Data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive techniques. The results demonstrated a gradual and significant improvement in childrens speaking morals. The classical achievement percentage increased from 37.38% in the pre-cycle stage (categorized as Undeveloped/BB) to 48.33% in Cycle I (Starting to Develop/MB), and reached 93.33% in Cycle II (Very Well Developed/BSB). The achievement in Cycle II successfully exceeded the established success indicator of 80%. Consequently, the simulation method using educational card games based on thayyibah phrases is effective in enhancing the speaking morals of children aged 5-6 years.
