Abstract

The Qur'anic Literacy Eradication Training through the LITERAT Learning Model aims to enhance the capacity of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in systematically assessing and teaching Qur'anic literacy. The training involved 50 teachers in Bandung Regency and was conducted as an interactive workshop combining theoretical presentations, simulations, and hands-on practice. The LITERAT model—which consists of seven stages: Listening, Identification, Treatment, Explanation, Reading, Assessment, and Testing—equips participants with the ability to categorize students' Qur'anic reading skills into five levels: TPD1, TPD2, TD, TT, and TM. Before the training, most participants could only make general distinctions between "fluent" and "non-fluent" students in reading the Qur'an. After completing the training, participants reported the ability to apply classification indicators in a more measurable and structured manner. Pre-test results showed an average participant score of 61.5, which increased to 83.2 in the post-test. The majority of participants demonstrated improvement in the accuracy of student assessment classifications. Additionally, the majority of participants stated that the training was highly beneficial. The training strengthened participants' understanding of the LITERAT model and improved their pedagogical and evaluative competencies in Qur'anic instruction. This intervention significantly contributes to empowering teachers as objective, data-driven evaluators of religious literacy.

Abstract

Adolescents must be equipped with knowledge and skills to create health products based on local medicinal plants. Currently, Indonesian youth—especially those living abroad—tend to have a limited understanding of Indonesia's native medicinal plants, despite the country's rich and abundant biodiversity. This educational initiative aims to inform teenagers about traditional medicine and provide hands-on experience preparing and formulating TOGA (Family Medicinal Plants). The community service program employed methods such as online socialization and demonstrations on making instant ginger drinks and antiseptic betel leaf soap, with 23 participants. The results showed a significant improvement in knowledge, with the average pre-test score of 5.30 increasing to 8.35 in the post-test. A paired sample t-test yielded a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a significant difference after the intervention. The correlation value of 0.612 suggests a moderately strong relationship between the intervention and the increase in scores, reinforcing the relevance of this educational effort in enhancing students' knowledge.

Abstract

Insights and skills in the intensification of yard land to be more productive and provide added value to the community, and the potential of human and natural resources in Gamping District. To achieve the predetermined objectives, methods have been carried out, namely, counseling, which is carried out by gathering organizational leaders and worshipers to attend counseling on women's empowerment, yard land management, and technology for utilizing family waste into organic fertilizer, with resource persons from the Implementation Team, Demonstrations and training are carried out by simulating healthy vegetable cultivation practices using equipment and materials that have been prepared by program implementers, cultivation practices by utilizing the land to produce products, and periodic mentoring to foster and assist partners until they succeed in cultivating healthy vegetables by utilizing vacant land to achieve optimal results. Healthy vegetable cultivation application of healthy vegetable cultivation technology with land utilization and healthy vegetable cultivation skills there is an increase in understanding, this is known from the results of the questionnaire distributed, the advantage of utilizing narrow yard land Innovation Technology can maintain family food health and increase family economy as evidenced by the results of joint harvests carried out together and periodically.

Abstract

Playmate is a mat-shaped game that aims to develop emotional intelligence and accuracy of expression in children. Playmate is an educational medium because it can integrate visual and audio elements that are easily absorbed by autistic children. The problems experienced by partners are emotional and expression problems of autistic clients. Efforts made for partners are empowering parents and teachers in improving the recognition of emotions and expressions of autistic children. The implementation uses the playmate method of colorful expressions and methods that are interesting for autistic children. Autistic children who prefer to be visual. This implementation will be divided into 2, namely providing socialization to teachers and parents. The goal is that when giving treatment to children, it is adjusted to their function at home and school. The results of the service activities are socialization activities attended by all teachers and parents of students. Through these activities, there is an increase in the understanding of teachers and parents in teaching expression and emotion skills in autistic children.

Abstract

The smoked fish industry in Pasuruan Regency, particularly on the Nguling coast, faces challenges related to product quality and durability, which makes it less competitive in the broader market. The Asap Sejahtera Association, whose members are primarily women, still uses traditional smoking methods. The products produced are easily damaged and not uniform in color and taste. This condition limits the distribution of smoked fish products outside the region, reducing their competitiveness. The Doktor Mengabdi Program aims to enhance the quality and shelf life of smoked fish products using advanced technology, specifically a Mechanical Smoking Furnace equipped with the "Cabinet Smoke" System. This technology is expected to overcome problems such as case hardening and high water content, which often reduce product quality. In addition to technical improvements, this program offers training and mentoring in business management to female smokers, enabling them to better prepare for market dynamics and increase their family income. This initiative not only focuses on product quality but also on empowering women in the Pasuruan fisheries sector.

Abstract

The digital transformation in education is essential for enhancing learning quality, particularly at the elementary school level. This community engagement program aims to enhance teachers' digital skills through Canva-based learning training for Teachers at SDN 65/II Sungai Bangsat, conducted on January 31–February 1, 2025. The Participatory Action Research (PAR) method was implemented, involving 18 teachers and one school principal as active participants. The training results indicate that 80% of participants were able to create digital teaching materials independently, and 90% agreed that Canva helped enhance learning engagement. Challenges included limited internet access and varying levels of digital proficiency among teachers. Thus, follow-up mentoring, technological infrastructure improvements, and periodic evaluations are necessary to ensure the sustainable use of Canva in teaching. This program enhances teachers' digital literacy and serves as a training model applicable to other elementary schools, particularly in areas with limited technological resources.

Abstract

Chronic kidney failure is one of the diseases that is experiencing an increase in cases, including in children. This condition can lead to serious complications if not treated properly from an early age. This community service activity aims to enhance elementary school students' understanding of preventing chronic kidney failure through health education and observation of fluid consumption patterns. The methods employed consist of three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Health education was provided to 20 elementary school students in grades 5 and 6, covering topics such as kidney function, causes of kidney failure, and healthy lifestyle practices to prevent this disease. Evaluation was conducted through pre-tests and post-tests, as well as observation of fluid consumption. The study's results showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge levels, with an average pre-test score of 8.3 and a post-test score of 9.8 (p = 0.002). Additionally, the results of the observations showed variations in fluid consumption, with the majority of respondents choosing water as their main drink. This activity concludes that health education is efficacious in improving students' knowledge about preventing chronic kidney failure. It is recommended that similar activities be carried out continuously and integrated into health promotion programs in schools to increase awareness and early prevention of chronic kidney failure.

Abstract

The problem of waste is not only faced by the country, but Semarang City, especially Karanganyar Gunung Village, also faces the same problem. Data shows that waste generated from household activities contributes the most to national and regional waste sources. Therefore, it is necessary to involve households in aspects of waste management. The Close Family Economic System is an approach to sorting and processing waste that generates economic value, which households can achieve. This system offers activities to sort organic and inorganic waste, allowing it to have economic value. Inorganic waste is sorted according to its characteristics to be then sold to collectors. At the same time, organic waste is processed simply into aromatherapy candles and ecoenzymes. The proceeds from the sale of waste are then managed or returned to residents to drive household economic activities.

Abstract

Since the implementation of the Zoning System for Student Admissions, classes in public schools have become academically heterogeneous. High achievers and low achievers are often in the same classroom. In many cases, these low achievers continue to lag because they are trapped in a vicious cycle of poor performance. Therefore, intervention is needed. One of them is by enhancing their academic self-efficacy through the implementation of a teaching strategy specifically designed to achieve this goal. This community service aims to: 1) improve teachers' understanding of the academic self-efficacy construct and its influence on learning, and 2) assist teachers in developing teaching strategies based on academic self-efficacy enhancement. This community service is divided into three stages of implementation: 1) pre-face-to-face training activities, 2) face-to-face training activities, and 3) post-face-to-face training activities. In the first stage, the community service team coordinates with the partner to prepare the necessary arrangements. In the second stage, the team provided the participants with a one-day training session. Twenty-six English teachers participated. After the self-efficacy construct was presented, participants formulated teaching strategies in groups based on the principles of self-efficacy enhancement. These strategies can then be implemented in their respective classes. The participants positively responded to the training. Follow-up activities, such as research on the strategy's impact, are necessary. Therefore, the lectures and the teachers are expected to maintain cooperation.

Abstract

Ngada Regency is an area rich in agricultural and livestock products. Considering the vast potential of STIPER Flores Bajawa as an educational institution, it feels important to advance agriculture and livestock in that area. The purpose of the educational expo is not only to promote the campus but also to provide the community with knowledge and information about processing agricultural and livestock products into various high-value products that can be applied in daily life. The service design involves identifying issues in the processing of agricultural and livestock products, which then determines the expo's objectives and the planning of expo activities, up to the evaluation of the impact of the held expo activities—the technique for collecting data on visitor evaluations of the products involved filling out a questionnaire. The product evaluation data were then analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods. The agricultural and livestock products that have been produced and showcased by STIPER Flores Bajawa at the educational expo include liquid organic fertilizer, cassava and taro chips, JMB (Jahe Merah Bajawa), VCO (Virgin Coconut Oil), plant seedlings, solid organic fertilizer, coffee, purple sweet potato flour, various bamboo accessories, beef jerky, cow skin cracklings, Sui Wu'u, animal feed, salted eggs, laying hen coops, chicken floss, Ra'a Rete Babi, and Sei Babi. Visitors greatly appreciated the product exhibition that had been held, as it was very innovative and served as an inspiration for them to engage in efforts to produce products from agricultural and livestock resources.
