Abstract

This study used a quantitative survey approach to analyze the career satisfaction of vocational schoolteachers in the City of Tasikmalaya who members of the Guidance and Counseling Teacher Deliberations (MGBK) are. A total of 40 respondents, with 31 women (77.5%) and 9 men (22.5%). The research instrument used the Career Satisfaction Scale (CSS) with adequate internal reliability. The results of the study show that women have the same opportunities in careers as vocational teachers, even though in the teaching profession women are more dominant. Factors such as gender stereotypes and disparities in access to mentors and professional networks can influence women's career satisfaction. In terms of age, respondents ranged in age from 22 to 50 years, with variations in frequency for each age group. Previous research has shown that stereotypes about reduced performance and career satisfaction in older workers are not entirely accurate. Older workers can have equal or even higher levels of career satisfaction than younger workers. In terms of education, most of the respondents (62.5%) had a bachelor's degree, while the rest (37.5%) had a master's degree. Previous studies have shown that the compatibility of education with work is positively related to career satisfaction. Most respondents (65%) experienced moderate levels of career satisfaction, followed by a small number who experienced high (17.5%) and low (17.5%) levels of career satisfaction. Factors such as a sense of accomplishment, success on the job, good relationships with colleagues and superiors, recognition received, and alignment with interests and values can influence career satisfaction. Interviews with counseling teachers showed that high school quality has a positive impact on career satisfaction. A conducive work environment, principal support, adequate resources, and a positive learning climate create a satisfying work experience for counseling teachers. Overall, this study provides insight into the career satisfaction of vocational schoolteachers in Tasikmalaya City and the factors that influence it. This study can be the basis for the development of policies and programs aimed at increasing the career satisfaction of vocational teachers

Abstract

This research aims to describe the values of peace based on the perspective of the Kaili tribal community. The scope of the study includes the values of peace in the Nosarara Nosabatutu philosophy possessed by the Kaili tribe as a basis for building a culture of peace. Nosarara Nosabatutu means unity and family, which is one of the local wisdom values of the Kaili tribe. The research method used is an ethnographic study that describes the peaceful values of the Kaili tribe. Data collection methods include in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature study. There were 3 participants in this research from the Kaili tribe: one religious figure, one traditional/traditional leader, and one community figure. The research results show that the Kaili tribe has peaceful values as the basis for building a culture of peace. The peaceful values possessed by the Kaili tribe are found in the philosophy of Nosarara Nosabatutu, including 1) Respecting human values (Membahargai nilai nu manusia); 2) Empathy towards others (Nombarasai nuapa nirassaintora); 3) Helping each other (mositulungi ante todea); 4) Deliberation to reach a consensus (Molibu mompaka sangu); 5) Caring for others  (Merasai nuapa nirasaintona); dan 6) Protecting nature (Mojagai tongrafa).

Abstract

The variety of different activities in Islamic boarding schools creates a variety of learning cultures that are very different from schools in general. The differences in student learning cultures are an interesting matter that is worth studying in depth. This research aims to explore the learning culture of Islamic boarding school students. The approach used is a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. This research involved seven students from various Islamic boarding schools in the Special Region of Yogyakarta as subjects. The results of this research explain various students’ learning cultures, including social culture in the Islamic boarding school environment, spiritual values in students’ motivation, students’ interactions in social groups, students’ learning methods and activities, the influence of figures as role models, and learning from experience. Guidance and counseling play an important role in supporting the development of students at Islamic boarding schools. Scientific implications include understanding social and cultural contexts, adapting to individual learning styles, developing social and emotional skills, strengthening spiritual values, and developing student identity and character.

Abstract

Research related to academic buoyancy so far has been more centered on Western culture, especially in the secondary school realm. Indonesia is a plural country that requires studies and information to encourage academic success and focuses on the positive development in Guidance and Counseling services. This study describes the level of buoyancy in the student context in terms of the Lampung subculture, namely the various tribes in Lampung Province such as the Javanese, Lampung Papedun and Lampung Saibatin, Malay, Minang, and Ogan. The method of the research uses quantitative survey research types. The correspondence of the research is 500 students from 4 (four) major universities in Lampung Province. The Academic Buoyancy Instrument used in this research is adapted from the theory of Marsh Martin, and Smith (2019). Data analysis used Rasch model analysis with Winsteps program and descriptive analysis. The results had academic buoyancy in the moderate category for each indicator with different indicator values for each ethnic group in Lampung Province. This research shows that there are indicators of academic buoyancy that do not fully occur in tertiary institutions

Abstract

The fast-changing and uncertain era demands an adaptive approach to career development. ‘Planned happenstance’ or events that are unexpected but planned has become an essential instrument in the course of a career. In this context, ‘planned happenstance’ is defined as being open to unexpected changes and opportunities that can potentially change career paths. The essence of this approach is to reduce anxiety about the future, learn throughout life, and exploit and create favorable unexpected events. Its main aspects include curiosity, perseverance, flexibility, optimism, and courage. Indicators of the success of implementing ‘planned happenstance’ include the individual’s ability to turn unexpected events into learning opportunities, take advantage of uncertainty as an opportunity, and, ultimately, create a fulfilling and meaningful career path. This literature review explores the application and implications of this concept in various contexts, such as education, professional development, and schoolwork transition. We conclude that ‘planned happenstance’ is an essential component of the career path, and more research is needed to explore how education and training can more effectively integrate this concept.

Abstract

Autonomy at work is an important element of employee motivation and involvement in work. Autonomy provides happiness and satisfaction at work for employees so that it can lead to higher productivity. The purpose of this study in general is to describe the profile of work autonomy in the organization directing the picture of employee work autonomy in terms of educational background. In particular, it discusses the forms and patterns of autonomy that have been created and the patterns of autonomy formed based on educational background. The population in this study were counselor at Junior High Schools in West Sumatra Province using the Simple Random Sampling Technique. Data collection uses instruments adopted and modified from Perceived Autonomy Support: The Learning Climate Questionnaire (LCQ). The data analysis approach used is quantitative with descriptive data types. The benefit of this research is that there is an overview of the profile of autonomy in work in terms of educational background. The results found that the counselor's work autonomy was on average in the high category. Suggestions from the results of this study are for counselor to improve and develop the ability to work autonomy so that they can be more comfortable and satisfied with work.

Abstract

Academic burnout is an increasingly significant phenomenon in the world of education, especially among students. In the educational context, academic burnout can have an impact on the quality of education and student learning outcomes. Sstudents who experience it academic burnout, which is characterized by difficulty concentrating, getting bored and tired easily, not being interested in the material being taught and often postponing work (school assignments), getting angry easily, not having confidence in one's abilities, feeling tired because of the large amount of school assignments. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of self-management techniques in reducing academic burnout among students at MAN 1 LABURA.  This research uses a quantitative pattern approach as an experimental design. The number of samples used in this research was 20 students from class XI MIPA 2 and Class XI IPS 2 with a population of 65 students from 2 classes. The sampling technique in this research uses a purposive sampling technique where sampling is carried out based on considerations according to certain criteria. The data collection technique in this research uses a questionnaire. The data analysis techniques used are descriptive statistics and tests independent samples test (t test) using the SPSS program version 26.0 for Windows. The results of the t-test data analysis carried out showed that there was a significant difference between the control class and the experimental class which was found to have a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.000 0.05.  Therefore, it can be concluded that group guidance with techniques self management effective in reducing academic burnout in class XI MIPA 2 students at MAN 1 LABURA.

Abstract

Vocational High Schools (SMK) as one of the Vocational education institutions are required to prepare graduates who are ready to work according to their areas of expertise so that good career planning maturity is needed. This survey was conducted to find out the extent of readiness in the career planning of SMK students in terms of the Bengkulu Subculture. Respondents who were taken were class X State Vocational School students through distributing questionnaires. Data analysis used a quantitative descriptive analysis technique, namely the analysis of data that has been given a score with a statistical measurement scale. The survey results show that vocational students' career planning is still in the low category. The low level of career planning occurs in 6 tribes in Bengkulu, namely the Lembak Tribe, Rejang Tribe, Serawai Tribe, Muko-Muko Tribe, Kaur Tribe and Pekal Tribe. Student career planning in each tribe in Bengkulu on the indicator of studying career information has a score of 72.11%, understanding self-potential with a score of 70.28%, participating in training activities that support career choices with a score of 69.59%, discussing with other people 70.49% and participating in extracurricular activities with a score 69.62%.

Abstract

This study aims to measure the effectiveness of relational cultural therapy in improving the multicultural competence of students specifically in guidance and counseling study program students as prospective BK/counselor teachers who will provide services to clients who have different cultural backgrounds. This study uses a quantitative type with a pretest-posttest group design. The subjects of this study were 40 students at FKIP UMSU who needed to receive the latest training on multicultural competence. The analysis used was product moment correlation and produced a correlation coefficient of 0.981 which concluded that rational cultural therapy training provided a significant increase in students' multicultural competence

Abstract

Juvenile delinquency, intolerance and disciplinary behaviour are partly motivated by low religious awareness. State MTs students in Banten have urban and traditional socio-cultural diversity, while geographically consisting of rural, urban, mountainous, and coastal areas. This diversity affects the cultivation of values, traditions, and perspectives on their religious life. The research aims to describe the religious awareness of MTs students in the Banten Region based on their socio-cultural and geographical profiles.  The research method used is descriptive analysis, using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Research data were obtained using a religious awareness scale that measured cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. The ANOVA test results show that sociocultural factors have a more significant impact on the variation of religious awareness of MTs Negeri students in the Banten Region. Socio-culturally, religious awareness tends to be greater for students in urban sociocultural groups.
