Abstract

The study of Natural Sciences (IPA) plays a crucial role in building students' scientific knowledge, critical thinking skills, and environmental awareness, especially in Indonesia, which is prone to natural disasters. This research analyzes disaster mitigation-based science education through a philosophical approach encompassing the dimensions of ontology, epistemology, and axiology. The method employed is a literature review of 14 articles relevant to the period from 2016 to 2024. The results indicate that, ontologically, this education emphasizes students' understanding of the interaction between natural phenomena and human activities. Epistemologically, experience-based, simulation, and technology-driven approaches have been shown to enhance disaster literacy and mitigation skills. Axiologically, this education instills values of social responsibility, environmental awareness, and solidarity in facing disasters. This integration supports Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and fosters a generation that is responsive and adaptive to global challenges, including climate change and disaster risks.

Abstract

Children of Indonesian Migrant Workers in Malaysia face various limitations and challenges, such as restricted access to education and healthcare. This study aims to explore the resilience of children of Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia using a qualitative approach and a case study method. The selection of informants was conducted through purposive sampling based on specific criteria, with a total of four informants. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, followed by thematic analysis. To ensure data validity, source triangulation was employed. The findings reveal that the resilience of the four informants is derived from three main sources: I Have, I Am, and I Can. ‘’I Have’’ reflects the support received from family and friends, the presence of role models, established rules, and encouragement to become independent. ‘’I Am’’ reflects a sense of pride in oneself, feeling liked by others, possessing empathy and care for others, taking responsibility and accepting the consequences of one's actions, as well as having hope and confidence in the future. Meanwhile, ‘’I Can’’ reflects an individual's ability to communicate, manage feelings and emotions, and control impulses when facing problems.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the fact that some tutors were not yet able to make learning plans, implement learning, and evaluate learning. Most tutors tend to only provide notes without explaining the material given to students. This study aims to describe the contribution of the work climate of leadership and performance of PKBM tutors in Pasaman Regency, using a quantitative approach method with a population of 109 people from Package B tutors. This study used a random sampling technique because the area studied was quite large, namely Pasaman Regency, so 68 Package B tutors were selected as samples. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire and testing the research instrument using the Validity and Reliability Test. The data analysis technique for this study was the Descriptive Statistical Test, the Classical Assumption Test, and the Linearity Test. The results showed that the contribution of the work climate of PKBM tutors in Pasaman Regency obtained quite good results with an average total score of the work climate variable of 2.48, the work environment in PKBM was in the fairly good category, this shows that although the work atmosphere in PKBM was adequate, there were still several aspects that needed to be improved in order to support the tutor's performance optimally. The contribution of leadership to the performance of PKBM tutors in Pasaman Regency is in the fairly good category with an average total score of the leadership variable of 2.49, leadership in PKBM is considered capable of providing adequate influence but has not reached an optimal level. Based on the results of data collection, it can be concluded that the contribution of PKBM tutor performance is quite good, the results of the analysis show that the average total score of the performance variable reaches 2.49, which places the performance of tutors in PKBM in Pasaman Regency in the sufficient category, the score indicates that the tutors have carried out their duties adequately but there is still potential for improvement. Keywords: Work Climate, Leadership, Tutor Performance

Abstract

The new independet curriculum allows students to show off their scientific talents in an environment free of stress, anxiety, and worry thanks to its relaxed and enjoyable learning style. Science learning, an invention of the independent curriculum, combines the scientific and social sciences. In order for children' minds to grow and their imaginations to flourish, science education is crucial. Aiming to foster children's creativity, independence, and psychological well-being, scientific education is methodically designed to facilitate learning via interaction, inspiration, entertainment, challenge, and active involvement. Furthermore, it is anticipated that youngsters can cultivate analytical, imaginative, and inquisitive thought processes. An attempt to tailor the educational experience to the unique requirements of each student is known as differentiated learning. At this time, differentiated learning is not widely used. Content, processes, products, and learning settings were all considered in the researchers' literature assessment. This literature study aims to accomplish three goals: (1) define differentiated learning; (2) describe its principles and characteristics; and (3) examine its applications in scientific education. Books and scholarly papers form the basis of this literature evaluation. The analysis reveals that: (1) students' learning styles can be accommodated by combining differentiated approaches with various models that meet their needs, such as Problem Based Learning (PBL), Project Based Learning (PjBL), and others; (2) students find this approach more engaging and it can improve their learning outcomes; and (3) students' interests and learning styles can be met by using this approach in science learning.
