Abstract

Proper management of waste is crucial due to its potential to harm ecosystems and contribute to pollution. We should collectively initiate environmental stewardship by doing minor measures to safeguard it. Consequently, students at SDN 1 Sumberdem, Wonosari-Malang, are anticipated to acquire knowledge and engage in socializing regarding rubbish sorting through their participation in community service activities. The objective of this activity is to heighten students' awareness and motivate them to exhibit more attentiveness towards their immediate environment. It is crucial for children to comprehend the categorization of garbage, encompassing organic, inorganic, and B3 waste, alongside hazardous and toxic substances, and acquire the skills to manage them appropriately. Hence, it is imperative to socialize youth in order to deter archaic tendencies, such as discarding waste outdoors. Furthermore, it is imperative to provide them with instruction on the proper techniques for sorting, selecting, and categorizing waste, as well as on how to effectively operate a waste bank to make revenue. Engaging in games, presentations, and other interactive activities facilitates the process of socialization. There is an expectation that minor habits will propagate throughout the entire family and neighborhood, thus aiding in the mitigation of the environmental waste issue.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to provide outreach through knowledge about feeding management and parasitic diseases in horses. Community service activities by the TAP&D (Tropical Animal Production and Disease) Research Group were held at the Bendi Horse Sukoharjo community group on June 25, 2023, in Sukoharjo Regency, Central Java. Data were collected using interviews and observation. All data obtained were then analyzed descriptively. The horses used are descendants of Banyuwangi horses. This bendi is used by the owner to attract or transport tourists who come to Sukoharjo Square every Monday to Sunday. The horses used are generally small, and some are even skinny. After analyzing horse faeces in the laboratory at the start of the pre-survey, it was found that 100% of the bendi horses in the association were infected with worms. Diseases in horses can also be caused by poor feed management. So, the solution is to provide education on maintaining good horse practices, especially feed management. The next problem is that the feed given to horses usually consists of long grass, so the horse doesn't eat all the parts. The solution we provide is a grass chopper. After the service activities were carried out, farmers increased their knowledge regarding parasitic diseases in horses and good feed management. This service activity concludes that horse farmers have increased knowledge about good horse care and about horse diseases.

Abstract

This community service activity provides an overview of strengthening economic civics through fish ball processing training for coastal communities. Based on observations in Magekapa, it is known that the potential marine resources in the form of fish cannot be managed in a varied way by the community to be used as a source of economic income. Therefore, improving economic citizenship through skills training for the community is necessary, one of which is through training in making fish balls. This training activity is carried out to prepare competitive citizens with knowledge and skills. The method used in this service is Asset Based Community Development (ABCD). ABCD method emphasizes dedication based on strengths and potential, starting with identifying and developing existing assets or resources to be used again as assets that are beneficial to the lives of the community. The final result of the service activities is that the community has the skills to produce fish balls, which can be developed as a source of income to help improve the local economy.

Abstract

This community service aims to improve the quality of public services in Coppo Tompong Village, Mandalle District, Pangkajene and Islands Regency, with a focus on complaints, community satisfaction surveys, and service standards. The method used in this community service uses the PAR method. In the PAR method, the community becomes a collaborative partner, not an object of research. The PAR method has several principles, including the principles of participation, action orientation, triangulation, and flexibility. The results of initial observations showed several problems, including complaints services that were still manual, the absence of service standards, and no forum for assessing community satisfaction. The solutions carried out were the creation of a Google Form-based complaint service, the preparation of service standard documents, and the creation of a community satisfaction survey. The community satisfaction survey conducted aims to measure how satisfied the community is with the services received, with the survey results showing that services at the Coppo Tompong Village Office fall into the "Very Good" category with the results of the Community Satisfaction Index value showing a value of 90.63. In addition, an infographic of the survey results and service standards was created which can be accessed through Linktree. Despite obstacles such as limited technological knowledge among the community, this service is considered successful in improving the transparency and efficiency of public services in the village, as well as providing long-term benefits for villagers.

Abstract

The science literacy in Indonesia is still far below the OECD average, reflecting the challenges of the national education system. The Independent Curriculum highlights the importance of science literacy but faces limited implementation at the local level, including Purbalingga Regency. The activity method used in this community service is Participatory Action Research (PAR).  This community service activity was conducted between February and May 2024 and aimed at improving the science literacy of junior high school science teachers in Purbalingga Regency. It was carried out offline and online webinars with a participatory andragogy approach. The number of participants in the offline session was 116, while 165 people attended the online session. The activities at the online meeting focused on Science learning and literacy-based assessment for junior high school science teachers in Purbalingga Regency, while the online activity focused on Differentiated and science-based science learning for science teachers. The initial analysis identified problems in science learning that were overcome with intensive training and assistance based on science literacy. This community service can significantly improve participants' understanding, with the post-test score of the seminar on February 17, 2024, reaching an average of 88.46, and the webinar on May 11, 2024, recording 86.54. The evaluation showed effective support for the Independent Curriculum with the integration of science literacy in science learning. This community service not only improves the science literacy of science teachers in Purbalingga but also supports the vision of inclusive education and the development of HOTS. Abstract

Education in Indonesia faces significant challenges related to three major issues known as the "three great sins of education," namely bullying, sexual violence, and intolerance. This article discusses the importance of sex education and sexual harassment prevention among students, particularly at the elementary school level. Through training with stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation in the form of a post-test questionnaire involving nine guidance and counselling teachers at SD IT Ukhuwah Banjarmasin, brainstorming methods and direct practice were applied to enhance understanding of sexual harassment and teachers' abilities to create digital-based service media, such as flipbooks. The training results showed an increase in participants' knowledge about sexual harassment issues and their ability to use flipbooks as a tool in counselling services. By utilizing technology, it is hoped that the younger generation can better understand and prevent sexual harassment actions, as well as create a safer and more supportive learning environment.
