Abstract

The people of Aeramo village, Nagekeo Regency, who work as fish farmers, find it very difficult to provide fish feed due to the high feed price. The purpose of implementing this community service activity is to provide information about the process of making simple-based fish feed and their response.  Community service was carried out in June 2023 in Dusun II, Aeramo Village, Nagekeo Regency. The activity method is Asset Based Community Development (ABCD), which aims to carry out community service based on the strengths and potential of the community. Discussions and interviews, counseling, and direct practice carried out data collection. The results obtained from this fish feed-making training activity are: 1) the community knows that the actual feed they buy so far ingredients are around them and are very simple, 2) the community is able to absorb the knowledge gained about how to make feed starting with the preparation of tools and materials, making formulations, to making feed and given directly to cultured fish.   Fish farmers can easily make fish feed, and the raw materials used in making feed can be obtained in the surrounding area, making it easier for farmers to make their feed.

Abstract

A deficit in teachers' skills and knowledge in designing innovative technology-based learning can impact student learning outcomes. This community service aims to provide training on designing learning using the STEM-based PBL model for teachers at SMP Negeri 18 Palu, Central Sulawesi. This program involved 40 SMP Negeri 18 Palu teachers and was conducted in July 2024. Utilizing a participatory action research approach, this program included material presentations, interactive discussions, and assignments assessed through questionnaires, observation sheets, and assignment sheets. The questionnaires were distributed before training activities, observation sheets were used during training and mentoring activities, and assignment sheets were distributed immediately after the discussion ended. The outcomes of the questionnaire showed that 100% of teachers analyzed learning outcomes and learning objectives before designing the lesson, 90% of teachers were familiar with PBL, 45% of teachers had designed learning using the PBL and implemented it, 10% of teachers had mastered PBL syntax and 100% of teachers had never designed learning with a STEM and combining it with PBL. The observation results were that 100% of teachers in each group played an active role, helped each other and worked together to complete assignments, established good communication with fellow teachers in their groups, and had a high level of responsibility in completing their group assignments. The assignment results show that 100% of teachers succeeded in designing learning using the PBL learning model and integrating it with a STEM approach. This community service’s success suggests a continued need for similar training efforts in designing STEM-based PBL models. Expanding workshops to facilitate the implementation of STEM-integrated PBL models in learning is also necessary.Top of Form

Abstract

Tumbang Nusa Village, Jabiren District, Pulang Pisau Regency, Central Kalimantan community groups have been formed into the Nusa Sehati Peat Ecosystem Protection Control Working Team (TKPPEG). They serve as partners in managing peat ecosystem protection. Alongside peat ecosystem conservation, improving the community's economy is essential. One initiative is the cultivation of kelulut bees (Trigona Sp), which has not been optimally implemented, particularly in technical beekeeping and honey marketing. Thus, the kelulut cultivation business was developed through the Community Empowerment Lecturer Program (PDPPM) at the University of Palangka Raya. The program's objectives include increasing kelulut honey production, enhancing online marketing, and creating product branding. The implementation involved training, field practice, and mentoring. As a result, lulus bees cultivated with a two-week harvest cycle produced approximately 14.5 liters of honey. Branding efforts allowed Kelulut Honey to compete better in the market, and marketing was conducted via WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook. In conclusion, community partners succeeded in cultivating kelulut honeybees, created branding, and adopted online marketing techniques. Their beekeeping skills improved, and they learned the importance of logos, packaging, and product narratives. This extended their market reach, increased sales, and allowed access to non-local consumers.
