Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)-based group counseling in reducing culture shock among college students. A quantitative pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design was employed. The participants were 12 students selected through purposive sampling based on moderate to high levels of culture shock. Data were collected using a culture shock questionnaire with a reliability coefficient of 0.885 and analyzed with the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The results showed a significant decrease in culture shock after the intervention, with Z = -3.061 and p = 0.002 (< 0.05). All participants experienced lower scores, and the effect size of r = 0.88 indicated a large effect. These findings confirm that CBT-based group counseling is effective in helping students reduce culture shock through cognitive restructuring, peer support, and the development of adaptive behaviors. The intervention has practical potential for counseling services in higher education to support first-year students’ adjustment, well-being, and academic engagement.

Abstract

This study reviews how adaptive curricula are implemented for students with special needs in inclusive schools and identifies dominant strategies, challenges, and enabling factors. Using a systematic literature review approach, the study screened 100 publications from Google Scholar, selected 40 for abstract and title relevance, and analyzed 20 articles published between 2020 and 2025. The synthesis shows that inclusive schools generally still rely on the national curriculum, while adaptation is carried out through accommodation and modification strategies such as escalation, duplication, substitution, and omission. Effective implementation depends on teacher competence, school leadership, parental involvement, and available resources. However, limited training, inadequate infrastructure, and weak cross-stakeholder coordination remain persistent barriers. The findings suggest that an adaptive curriculum is not merely a technical adjustment but a central mechanism for ensuring equitable participation and meaningful learning outcomes for students with special needs in inclusive settings. This review offers practical implications for teachers, school leaders, and policymakers in strengthening inclusive education.

Abstract

This study describes students’ critical thinking skills in static fluid learning across five public senior high schools in the West Bone region under different learning models. A quantitative descriptive survey was conducted involving 153 grade XI science students selected through purposive sampling from a population of 524 students. The research instrument consisted of 13 essay items developed from five critical thinking indicators and validated through expert review and reliability testing. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and category conversion. The findings show that students’ critical thinking skills were generally in the good category, with the highest mean score found in the Problem-Based Learning group (29.63), followed by Project-Based Learning (27.47), Discovery Learning (26.11), Inquiry Learning (24.60), and Cooperative Learning (22.74). The results indicate that learning models emphasizing problem solving and authentic tasks tend to support higher critical thinking performance. These findings suggest the importance of selecting contextual, student-centered learning models to strengthen critical thinking in physics education.

Abstract

This study analyzes digital ecosystem models in teacher professional development (CPD) through a narrative literature review of 30 international journal articles published between 2015 and 2024. Using purposive selection and thematic synthesis, the study identifies four interconnected models: digital collaborative professional learning, data-driven and personalized CPD, hybrid and blended CPD ecosystems, and AI-enhanced microlearning CPD. Rather than treating these models as separate approaches, this study reconceptualizes digital CPD as an integrated ecosystem in which collaboration, personalization, hybridity, and AI support operate as interdependent components. The findings show that digital ecosystems expand opportunities for teacher collaboration, adaptive feedback, flexible learning, and personalized support across diverse educational contexts. However, effectiveness depends not only on technological adoption, but also on the alignment between teachers’ digital literacy, infrastructure readiness, program design quality, and school leadership. By moving beyond descriptive categorization, this study offers an integrative and explanatory framework for understanding sustainable teacher learning across contemporary educational settings and the digital era.

Abstract

This study systematically reviews literature on educational leadership in school mental health contexts and develops the Mental Health-Oriented Educational Leadership Framework (MH-OELF) for Indonesian secondary schools. Guided by PRISMA 2020, the review searched Scopus, Web of Science, SSCI/ESCI, PubMed, DOAJ, and SINTA for English articles published from 2020–2025. From 212 records, 23 studies met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed through thematic coding. The synthesis yielded five interrelated dimensions: wellbeing-oriented vision, collaborative and distributed structures, tiered and systemic management, data-informed reflective practice, and cultural-contextual alignment. Findings show that effective mental health leadership depends on integrating these dimensions into a coherent whole-school ecosystem rather than applying isolated interventions. The proposed MH-OELF positions principals as adaptive system leaders who align policy, culture, and practice to sustain mentally healthy schools. The framework offers theoretical and practical guidance for school leaders, teachers, and policymakers in designing context-responsive mental health management in secondary education settings.

Abstract

This study examines the Honesty Canteen program as a project-based learning strategy for strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile in an elementary school. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis involving 22 participants, including the principal, teachers, canteen managers, students, and a parent representative. Data were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña interactive model with triangulation to ensure trustworthiness. The findings show that the program was implemented through five interrelated strategies: habituation, role modeling, participatory supervision, reward mechanisms, and values internalization. Quantitative records indicated that students’ honesty rate increased from 51% at the initial phase to 100% after pedagogical interventions such as role-play and collective reflection, with an average of 91%. Qualitative evidence further showed moral internalization through students’ voluntary confession and restitution behaviors. The study concludes that the Honesty Canteen can function as a contextual P5 model that supports integrity, independence, and global diversity in the Pancasila Student Profile.

Abstract

This study examined the relationship between self-regulation and emotional intelligence and problem-solving ability among students actively involved in organizations. A quantitative correlational design was used with 104 respondents selected through quota sampling at Mua Kudus University. The research instruments were self-regulation, emotional intelligence, and problem-solving scales. Data were analyzed using Pearson product-moment correlation and multiple regression. The results showed a very significant positive relationship between self-regulation and emotional intelligence and problem-solving ability (R = 0.743; p < 0.01), with an effective contribution of 55.2%. Self-regulation was positively associated with problem-solving ability (r = 0.716; p < 0.01) and contributed 51.2%, while emotional intelligence also showed a significant positive relationship (r = 0.601; p < 0.01) with a 36.2% contribution. These findings indicate that students with stronger self-regulation and emotional intelligence tend to solve organizational problems more effectively. The study suggests that universities should strengthen these capacities through targeted training programs for organizational effectiveness and student development.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of escape room games based on Problem-Based Learning on students’ critical thinking in fluid mechanics. A quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design was employed, involving an experimental and a control class. Data were collected through critical thinking tests and student response questionnaires, and analyzed using normality tests, mean difference tests, normalized gain (N-gain), and effect size. The results provide evidence of significant learning gains, with the experimental class achieving a high normalized gain (N-gain = 0.74) and a large effect size (d = 0.82), indicating a statistically significant effect compared to the control class (p < 0.05). In addition, student responses were categorized as very good, reflecting increased engagement, motivation, and conceptual understanding. These findings suggest that escape room games based on Problem-Based Learning constitute an effective and innovative instructional approach for enhancing students’ critical thinking in physics, particularly in fluid mechanics.

Abstract

Career development during adolescence requires psychological resources that enable students to manage educational and occupational transitions. However, empirical evidence comparing self-efficacy and career adaptability across academic and vocational secondary education remains limited. This study examined the relationship between self-efficacy and career adaptability, compared these variables between senior high school (SMA) and vocational high school (SMK) students, and assessed the contribution of self-efficacy to career adaptability. A quantitative cross-sectional survey was conducted with 224 Indonesian secondary school students recruited through convenience sampling, with participant recruitment exhibiting snowball characteristics. Data were collected using the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES) and the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS) and analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, independent-samples t-test, and simple linear regression. Self-efficacy was positively associated with career adaptability (r = 0.824, p < 0.001) and explained 67.8% of its variance (R² = 0.678, p < 0.001). Vocational high school students demonstrated significantly higher self-efficacy and career adaptability than senior high school students. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening self-efficacy through school-based career guidance interventions.

Abstract

This study formulates a Science Harmonization Learning Model to address the long-standing dichotomy between religious knowledge and modern science in Islamic education. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with an integrative literature review, the study analyzed selected sources through content analysis to identify philosophical and pedagogical patterns relevant to model construction. The findings show that an effective harmonization model rests on tauhidic epistemology and can be operationalized through three interconnected components: an integrative curriculum, contextual-reflective learning methods, and a holistic evaluation system. This model aligns scientific inquiry with moral and spiritual values, enabling teachers to connect concepts, daily life, and character formation in a coherent learning process. The study contributes a practical conceptual framework that translates abstract epistemological ideas into classroom procedures at the school level. It also offers implications for Islamic education reform and supports the implementation of humanistic, moderate, and character-oriented learning in line with the Merdeka Belajar policy.
