Abstract

This study aims to test the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on the learning outcomes of 5th grade students and the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning models on the learning motivation of 5th grade students, as well as to test the improvement in science learning outcomes after using the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model. This study uses an experimental method with a True Experimental design using Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population of this study was all students of UPTD SDN 1 Kapringan. By using a sampling technique, class 5-A was determined to be the experimental group of 31 students and class 5-B to be the control group of 30 students. Research data were collected through written tests and questionnaires. Based on the results of statistical calculations using the Mann-whitney test, the sig. (2-tailed) value was obtained = 0.005 <a value = 0.05. So, it can be stated that there is an effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on learning outcomes. Meanwhile, the sig. (2-tailed) value = 0,234 > a value = 0.05. Therefore, it can be stated that there is no influence of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on learning motivation. Therefore, there is no significant difference in learning motivation between students in the experimental class and the control class. In the statistical calculation of student learning outcomes using the N-Gain test, it was obtained that in the experimental class the average N-Gain value was 0.57, which is included in the moderate interpretation. Meanwhile, the average N-Gain value in the control class was 0.45, which is included in the moderate interpretation. Thus, there was a significant increase in the learning outcomes of science and science. Therefore, there was a significant increase in student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Plastic waste, particularly bottle caps, is a common form of household waste that is rarely reused, resulting in much of it ending up in illegal dumps or being burned in the open in Sarimattin Village. This community service activity aims to provide education and guidance to the community specifically the women of Hamlet II Kresek and members of the Posyandu on how to process used bottle caps into functional and economically valuable keychains. The activity was held on August 12, 2026, involving 17 participants through a descriptive-evaluative approach based on hands-on practice, which included stages of waste management education, demonstrations and practice in making keychains, as well as product creativity development. Evaluation was conducted through participatory observation, the number of products produced, and the participants’ level of understanding. The results showed that participants successfully produced 20 keychains with a comprehension rate of 90%, indicating that an educational approach combined with hands-on practice effectively enhances community knowledge and skills. This activity proved capable of reducing the volume of plastic waste, fostering environmental awareness, and opening opportunities for the development of creative business ventures based on the circular economy in Sarimattin Village.

Abstract

The development of digital technology in education provides opportunities for students in the Islamic Elementary School Teacher Education (PGMI) Study Program to develop creative educational products. This creativity not only supports learning needs but also has the potential to be developed within the field of edupreneurship. This study aims to analyze the forms of creativity demonstrated by PGMI students in developing digital educational products and to identify their potential as edupreneurship opportunities. A qualitative approach using a literature review method was employed in this study. The data sources consisted of secondary data obtained from scientific journal articles, proceedings, and other relevant academic sources. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and analytically through thematic synthesis, focusing on student creativity, digital educational products, and edupreneurship. The results of the review indicate that PGMI students demonstrate creativity in developing various digital educational products, such as interactive media, digital teaching materials, flashcards, educational games, and instructional videos. This creativity is reflected in their ability to generate ideas, modify learning materials, utilize technology, and adapt products to students’ needs. These digital products have the potential to be developed into products that provide both educational and economic value. This study concludes that creativity, pedagogical competence, digital literacy, and an entrepreneurial mindset are interconnected aspects that support edupreneurship. Therefore, strengthening practice-based, technology-oriented, and entrepreneurship-oriented learning is essential to encourage PGMI students to become prospective educators as well as innovators and edupreneurs.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the assessment of the achievement of cooperation character among children aged 5–6 years through experimental activities at TK Kartika I-1 Medan, including the assessment methods, assessment instruments, data collection process, and indicators used by the teacher. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive narrative method. The research subject was one teacher at TK Kartika I-1 Medan, while the research object was the assessment of children’s cooperation character achievement during experimental activities. Data were collected through structured interviews and document analysis, then analyzed qualitatively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. Data validity was established through method triangulation. The findings showed that the teacher used direct observation, conversations during activities, and assessment of children’s work or group tasks as assessment methods. The instruments included checklists, assessment rubrics, anecdotal records, and photographic documentation. The assessment process involved observing children’s behavior during activities, recording the observations, and determining children’s developmental levels. The cooperation indicators included sharing tasks, taking turns using materials, helping one another, and respecting peers’ opinions. However, the assessment had not been implemented optimally because experimental activities were conducted infrequently and the cooperation indicators had not been elaborated into detailed and operational behaviors. Therefore, the assessment of cooperation character needs to be strengthened through more regular and planned experimental activities and more specific indicators.

Abstract

Mathematics learning for lower-grade students requires an approach that aligns with the concrete operational stage of cognitive development. Initial observations at SD Swasta Pelangi Medan revealed that the addition operation learning outcomes of first-grade students remained low due to conventional teaching methods that lack the use of concrete media. This study aims to determine the effect of using spinning wheel media assisted by colored buttons on the learning outcomes of addition operations among first-grade students at SD Swasta Pelangi Medan. This research employs a quantitative approach with an experimental method, utilizing a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The research subjects are divided into two groups: the experimental group, which receives learning through spinning wheel media assisted by colored buttons, and the control group, which follows conventional learning. Data are collected through learning outcome tests, observations, interviews, and documentation, and subsequently analyzed statistically. Through the implementation of this concrete manipulative media, the expected results indicate that the use of spinning wheel media assisted by colored buttons has a positive and significant effect on improving the addition operation learning outcomes of first-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

The anti-bullying program at SDN Kedung Cinde, SDN Katulisan, and SDN Turun Balas, Katulisan Village, Cikeusal District, Serang Regency, was implemented through a participatory approach in response to the increasing cases of bullying in rural elementary schools. This study aims to analyze the program implementation, measure the success rate in instilling anti-bullying awareness, evaluate the supporting and inhibiting factors, and formulate program strengthening strategies for sustainability. This research is a Community Service Program (KKN) activity using a qualitative approach with participatory methods, involving principals, teachers, students, parents, and community leaders through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results show that the program successfully improved students' understanding of the types and impacts of bullying, reduced the frequency of bullying cases, and fostered students' active roles as agents of change. The program's success was supported by the principal's commitment, community mutual cooperation, and support from the education office, but was constrained by limited teacher time, lack of parental understanding, and budget limitations. Recommended strengthening strategies include integrating anti-bullying materials into the curriculum, continuous teacher training, strengthening reporting mechanisms, and establishing partnerships with parents and the community. This program proves that community-based participatory approaches are effective for bullying prevention in rural areas and can serve as a model for other schools with similar characteristics.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Production Based Training (PBT) learning model on students’ learning outcomes in the subject of Creative Product and Entrepreneurship for class XI DPIB I at SMK Negeri 2 Binjai in the 2025/2026 academic year. The background of this research is the low student learning outcomes caused by the use of less varied learning models, which are still dominated by Direct Learning, resulting in students being passive and less motivated. The research method used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design of the nonequivalent control group type. The research sample consists of two classes: class XI DPIB I as the experimental class treated using the PBT model, and class XI DPIB III as the control class using the Direct Learning model. Data collection techniques include tests (pre-test and post-test), observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis includes normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing using the t-test. The results show that there is a higher increase in students’ learning outcomes in the experimental class compared to the control class. The improvement in learning outcomes for the experimental class is 80.7, while for the control class it is 67.5. This is supported by the hypothesis testing results (t = 3.65 > 1.67469), indicating a significant effect of the use of the PBT model on students’ learning outcomes. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Production Based Training (PBT) learning model is effective in improving students’ learning outcomes in the subject of Creative Product and Entrepreneurship.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low English vocabulary mastery of fifth-grade students at SDK Karawatung, which was related to conventional teaching methods and teaching materials that were less contextual to students' rural lives. The study aimed to describe the implementation and results of a local wisdom-based Video-Based Learning (VBL) method in improving English vocabulary mastery. This research employed Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles involving 13 fifth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and tests, then analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis and simple descriptive quantitative statistics. The results showed that the method improved both learning activity and vocabulary mastery. Classical mastery increased from 30.76% in the pre-action stage, with a class average of 53.84, to 46.15% in Cycle I with an average of 62.30, and reached 100% in Cycle II with an average of 86.92. Student activity increased from 68.33% in Cycle I to 81.66% in Cycle II, while teacher activity increased from 75% to 93.33%. The findings indicate that integrating familiar local cultural contexts, particularly Hedung dance and Jagung Titi, into video-based learning can make English vocabulary learning more concrete, meaningful, and engaging for elementary school students.
