Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development of scientific studies on education at the elementary school level using a bibliometric approach. By utilizing data from various reputable academic databases, this study identifies research trends and the most discussed topics in this field. The methods used include citation analysis, co-word analysis, and network visualization using VOSviewer bibliometric software. This study provides a comprehensive picture by describing descriptive parameters of publications and extracting keywords from authors in the field of Foundations and Education in Elementary schools. This study includes a primer for researchers to gain a better understanding of the progress in scholarly publications related to Foundation Education at the elementary school level. A thorough examination of 266 documents found in the Scopus database was conducted from 2008 to 2024. According to the findings, the number of publications fluctuated, with the highest number of publications occurring between 2008 and 2024, totaling 266 documents. Of these publications, the United States and the United Kingdom were the most productive countries. Overall, research on this topic continues to evolve, with new methods and directions being established. The main contribution of this study is to provide a comprehensive insight into the landscape of basic education research, while identifying research gaps that can form the basis for further studies. The findings also have implications for education policy-making, particularly in developing more effective and evidence-based learning strategies. Thus, this research not only provides a historical overview of the development of basic education studies but also serves as a valuable reference for academics, educators, and policymakers in improving the quality of education at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study addresses the increasing presence of graffiti as a form of urban visual culture that reflects local identity and holds pedagogical potential. It examines the visual characteristics of graffiti created by urban artist crews in Surabaya and explores its integration as an innovative medium in culture-based art education. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, utilizing an inductive case study method. Data were collected through visual observations at public graffiti sites, semi-structured interviews with artists and art teachers, and online surveys involving teachers and high school students. The findings reveal that Surabaya's graffiti incorporates symbolic visual elements, local narratives, and responses to social and environmental issues. Both teachers and students express a strong interest in graffiti as a relevant and engaging learning medium. The study proposes a practical learning model based on project-based and contextual approaches, emphasizing collaboration, ethical expression, and local cultural awareness. This research contributes to the advancement of art education by offering a structured framework that repositions street-based visual practices as legitimate pedagogical tools. It provides new insights into visual culture education, expands the discourse on culturally responsive teaching, and bridges the gap between informal urban art and formal school-based learning.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the lack of media use in learning activities, causing students to have difficulty in reading comprehension of stories. This study aims to describe the development process, feasibility, and effectiveness of digital comic media. This research is a Research and Development of the ADDIE model with a quantitative approach. Data sources came from teachers, students, documents, and experts. Data collection is conducted through various test techniques, including pre-tests and post-tests, as well as non-test methods such as interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Data were validated using item analysis. The data analysis technique consists of a normality test and a paired t-test. The results of material expert validation achieved a percentage of 93%, media expert validation achieved a percentage of 90%, student response questionnaires achieved percentages of 86% and 89%, and teacher response questionnaires achieved percentages of 88% and 92%. The results of the paired t-test indicate that the development of digital comics has significantly improved the story comprehension of fifth-grade students at SDN Podorejo 03. The development of digital comic media supports SDG 4 (Quality Education).

Abstract

Craft learning is an essential component of the education curriculum; however, students often encounter challenges in understanding and applying craft concepts effectively. This study aims to address these barriers by developing mobile learning media using iSpring Suite, leveraging its interactive features to enhance student engagement and comprehension. The research adopts the Instructional Development Institute (IDI) model, ensuring a structured approach to integrating instructional design, technology, and craft content. A quasi-experimental method was employed, involving pre-test and post-test assessments to measure learning improvements among students. The findings indicate that students who utilized the iSpring Suite-based mobile learning media demonstrated significantly higher comprehension and engagement levels than those using traditional lecture methods. A paired sample t-test (p 0.05) with an N-gain analysis revealed a moderate improvement (0.50) and an effect size analysis (1.80), confirming a substantial impact on learning outcomes. These results suggest that mobile learning media can effectively bridge gaps in craft education by providing flexible access to materials and fostering interactive learning experiences. The study contributes to educational technology by highlighting the potential of mobile learning in vocational and skill-based education, offering insights for further research and implementation in diverse learning contexts.

Abstract

Dharmagita is a sacred hymn in the Hindu's spiritual tradition. It conveys moral and cultural teachings. It also plays an essential role in both rituals and religious ceremonies. Maintaining Dharmagita in the era of Society 5.0 has faced a significant challenge. Additionally, rapid technological development has significantly influenced human lifestyle and communication. This is especially true for younger generations, who are more inclined to listen to modern music. This study aims to examine the transformation of Dharmagita as a medium of Hindu cultural expression in the digital era. Additionally, it plays a role in cultural preservation in education. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach. The researcher collects the data through interviews. The interview was conducted with some educators, religious leaders, and youths. It is also combined with participant observation and document analysis. The thematic analysis is used to interpret the data and display the insights into how Dharmagita adapts to digital platforms without losing its core values. The findings of the research show that educational initiatives, as well as digital innovation, are both main factors in maintaining Dharmagita. It becomes more engaging for younger audiences without losing its spiritual essence. This study contributes to the field of cultural education by highlighting how traditional religious expressions can evolve in the context of modern technology. In order to support the continuity of cultural and moral development.

Abstract

The background of this research focuses on the culture of compassion, which includes feelings of affection, empathy and concern for others, especially in helping or alleviating their suffering. This culture includes genuine concern and action for the well-being of others without expecting anything in return. The purpose of this study is to understand and analyze the extent to which the culture of compassion is applied by Javanese adolescents in Yogyakarta. This study used a quantitative approach with quantitative descriptive research methodology, where the sample taken consisted of 150 students. The results showed that most Javanese adolescents in the Yogyakarta have a high level of compassion culture, with 57% showing a strong empathetic attitude. A total of 33% showed a moderate level of affection culture, and 10% showed a low level. The conclusion of this study is that most adolescents in this area still maintain high values regarding affection, although there are differences in the level of application of this culture which is influenced by family factors, education, and the influence of technology. The contribution of this study is to provide insight into the culture of affection among adolescents and the factors that influence its implementation.

Abstract

The increasing prevalence of bullying in elementary schools has raised serious concerns regarding the safety and well-being of students. This study aims to develop and validate a theoretically grounded instrument to assess elementary school teachers' awareness of bullying behavior. A total of 121 teachers from Central Java participated as respondents. The instrument was developed based on the Olweus Bullying Questionnaire (OBQ) and the Bullying and Cyberbullying Scale (BCS), covering four key dimensions: bullying detection, behavioral changes, causes of bullying, and preventive actions. Content validity was assessed using Aiken's V analysis, while construct validity was examined through Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), demonstrating a satisfactory model fit (CFI 0.90, RMSEA 0.08). Reliability analysis indicated excellent internal consistency, with Cronbach's ? and McDonald's ? values exceeding 0.90. The findings confirm that the developed instrument is both valid and reliable in measuring teachers' awareness of bullying. This research contributes to the development of assessment tools in education, providing a practical framework for improving teachers' roles in bullying prevention and intervention in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an Android-based digital module for Cikeruhan Dance that can enhance students' self-directed learning (SDL) abilities. Cikeruhan Dance, as part of the Sundanese folk dance tradition, has the potential to be used as an interesting and relevant learning material for university students and school pupils, especially in the context of dance education. The research method employed is Research and Development (RD), utilizing the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The module development process involves analyzing students' needs for interactive and easily accessible dance learning materials, followed by designing a module that includes History, Movement Structure, Makeup and Costume, as well as video tutorials and quizzes for evaluation. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and literature studies to analyze needs and identify novelties, ensuring that the development aligns with student requirements. Triangulation analysis is then applied to ensure the collection of relevant and balanced data. A limited trial was conducted with dance education students. The results of the small group trial showed an effectiveness of 85.07%, while the large group trial showed an effectiveness of 87.91%. The difference occurred because the large group already had prior knowledge of the material. This module is considered highly valid with an attractive design, communicative language, and visual elements that support learning. The use of the Android-based module facilitates access and increases motivation and independence among students in learning Cikeruhan Dance.

Abstract

This study aims to design an interactive Electronic Student Worksheet (e-LKPD) based on the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model, drawing reference from the Wizer.me website, to enhance students' autonomy in learning hydrocarbon materials. Hydrocarbon concepts are abstract and complex, requiring new approaches to learning. Computer-based learning media feature interactive components that support student participation and independence. This research employed the Research and Development (RD) approach utilizing the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate). The developed e-LKPD was validated with experts at an 88% validity level (very valid). Student response questionnaires yielded a practicality level of 95.83% (very practical), and the student learning independence percentage was 79.42% (practical/effective). The measure of effectiveness, as determined by the n-gain test, was 63.69% (fairly effective). These findings demonstrate that the interactive e-LKPD is a valid, feasible, and effective learning tool to support students' learning independence in hydrocarbon materials. This study contributes to the use of digital learning media in chemistry education, facilitating student-centered learning and active participation.

Abstract

The need for post-pandemic alternative media development in chemistry learning at school is the goal of this research. This study uses a research and development model. Alternative learning media developed in the form of website-based learning using Google Sites. Two media experts validated the material content, and the media content was validated by two additional media experts. Validation was carried out twice. The results of media validation in this study included the substance of media content, learning design, visual communication, and the use of software by media validators, with percentages of 98.44%, 98.75%, 93.75%, and 97.92%, respectively. The average score of 97.21% falls within the valid category. The results of material validation, based on aspects of content feasibility, pedagogical aspects, language assessment, and graphics, by the material validator, namely 95.83%, 95.83%, 100%, and 100%, with an average score of 97.91%, are included in the valid category. The trial was carried out at MA Hidayatul Marifah with 20 students. The results of teacher and student responses, respectively, were 92.17% and 90.12%, which were included in the good category.
