ABDIRA (Journal of Community Service): Journal of Community Service contains the results of community service and empowerment activities in the form of application of various fields of science including health, education, engineering, agriculture, agriculture, social humanities, computers, entrepreneurship and economics. This journal is published regularly twice a year in April and October. The purpose of this journal is to disseminate ideas and results of the dedication and research conducted by universities that can be applied in society. ABDIRA contains various activities carried out in handling and overcoming various problems that occur in society by applying science and technology which can then be useful for improving community welfare.

Abstract

Elementary school-age children are still easily persuaded by friends, the environment, advertisements, and the seduction of hawker sellers. Therefore, we make elementary school students as an educational target, so that they understand the importance of precision in buying snacks. The purpose of this activity is to find out the influence of counseling on the knowledge of SD Kartika XXI-1 students about healthy snacks at school. The method of implementation in this PkM activity is the counseling method for students of SD XXI-1 Kartika Jaya, Wanea District, Manado City. Counseling activities are a two-way communication process between communicators (extension workers) and communicators in an interaction. This activity will be carried out in May 2024, starting at 09.00 WITA. This health education activity is evaluated through knowledge change through direct questions and answers with students where the results are obtained that the students already understand about choosing healthy snacks, especially at school. The conclusion of this activity is that counseling activities can increase the knowledge of SD Kartika XXI-1 students about healthy snacks at school.

Abstract

The use of gadgets among primary school students is increasingly common in the digital era, but at SDN Gang Aut in Bogor City and surrounding areas, their utilisation in learning is still minimal. Most teachers use simple learning media, while only a few students utilise gadgets as learning aids at home. This suggests the need to adopt more varied and internet-based learning methods to fulfil students' diverse learning needs. Internet-based learning can provide access to extensive educational resources and encourage active student participation. One effective method is gamification, which integrates game elements to increase student motivation and engagement. However, a challenge faced is the lack of teachers‘ understanding and skills in using digital media, such as Wordwall and ChatGPT applications. To address this issue, a six-month community service programme (PKM) is planned that aims to improve teachers’ competencies through gamification training. The programme will include the provision of materials, practice using digital tools, and evaluation through pre-tests and post-tests. By improving teachers‘ skills in integrating technology, it is expected that students’ use of gadgets will be more effective in supporting learning in the digital era.

Abstract

Differentiated learning is one of the approaches in the Merdeka Curriculum, emphasizing the diversity of students' learning needs. However, observations and interviews indicate that many teachers at SD Negeri 144 Pekanbaru still face difficulties in designing and implementing differentiated learning based on information technology. The main challenges include limited understanding of teaching modules, lack of comprehensive training, and minimal use of technology in the learning process. Therefore, this mentoring program aims to enhance teachers' understanding and skills in designing teaching modules aligned with differentiated learning principles while integrating information technology into the learning process. The methods used in this program include socialization, training, technology application, direct mentoring, and evaluation to ensure program sustainability. The results indicate a significant improvement in teachers' understanding and ability to design and implement technology-based teaching modules. Additionally, teachers can integrate various digital platforms to support more interactive and student-centered learning. In conclusion, this mentoring program positively impacts teachers' competencies and is expected to contribute to improving the quality of education in elementary schools.

Abstract

Gastric acid disease is often suffered by young people caused by an unhealthy lifestyle. Gastric acid occurs due to the increase in esophageal and esophageal stomach acid which causes the stomach to become irritated. The purpose of the activity is to increase knowledge and broaden the insight of students of SMP Negeri Satu Atap 11 Konawe Selatan. The form of activity is in the form of a presentation in providing education on the prevention and treatment of ulcers. here was an increase in knowledge with a Pre-Test value of 40% and a Post-Test value of 60%, meaning that the delivery method used was very effective.

Abstract

Ineffective management of inorganic waste poses environmental and social challenges in many communities. To address this, students from KKN-MBKM UIN FAS conducted an entrepreneurship workshop as a form of community empowerment. The aim was to enhance residents' skills in processing inorganic waste into marketable products, thereby increasing income and environmental awareness. The community service employed the ABCD (Asset-Based Community Development) approach, focusing on utilizing local potentials and resources through direct training, mentoring, and hands-on practice in creating creative products from inorganic waste. The results showed improved participant capabilities in waste management and the emergence of new business opportunities based on waste processing. This activity is significant as it not only reduces waste volume but also promotes economic independence through sustainable entrepreneurship. Thus, the workshop contributes meaningfully to community empowerment and environmental preservation.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to provide education and assistance in preparing Business Model Canvas (BMC) to students who already have businesses. The needs of students who already have businesses and will understand structured business models as a basis for sustainable business development. Although many students have started businesses, most do not fully understand the important elements in business summarized in the Business Model Canvas (BMC) method. The implementation method of this service includes the stage of identifying participants' businesses, providing material on the concept and elements of BMC, group discussions, and direct practice of preparing BMC methods based on each student's business. This activity was attended by a number of students with various business backgrounds, ranging from culinary, fashion, camping equipment rental, to digital services. An educational and participatory approach was used so that students not only understand the concept, but are also able to apply it in their real business. The results of the activity showed that participants were able to understand their business structure more systematically and find potential business development that had not previously been mapped. Education on the Business Model Canvas (BMC) method also encourages students to think more strategically and focused in planning the sustainability of their businesses.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has had a significant impact on the world of education, particularly in creating more interactive and immersive learning media. One technology that has great potential in supporting the teaching and learning process is Augmented Reality (AR). This Community Service activity is carried out by the Faculty of Engineering and Maritime Technology (FTTK) of Raja Ali Haji Maritime University (UMRAH) at Bintan Private Elementary School in Tanjungpinang City, with the aim of introducing the concept and utilization of AR technology as interactive learning media to teachers and students. The activities include socialization, demonstrations of AR use, as well as discussion and evaluation sessions. The results of the activities show high enthusiasm from the participants, as well as an increased understanding of the use of AR in the context of learning, particularly in the field of shipping that requires the visualization of technical objects. Although there are limitations in infrastructure, this activity successfully encouraged initial initiatives in the integration of innovative technology in the school environment. This event also serves as a means to strengthen the role of UMRAH in supporting the development of local education based on technology

Abstract

University Christian of and SMA PGRI Lubang Buaya collaborated on a Community Service project for Christian students, focusing on the theme "True Love: Loving God and Fellow Humans from a Guidance and Counseling Perspective." The event took place on March 19, 2025, during the month of Ramadan. A total of 16 teenagers aged 16-19 years old participated in the activity. Through a brief worship session, material presentation, discussion, and games, students were given an understanding of the theme. The evaluation results showed a significant increase in students' knowledge and attitudes. After participating in the activity, participants' understanding of True Love: Loving God and Fellow Humans from a Guidance and Counseling Perspective improved. Prior to the activity, most participants did not understand that love from God and fellow humans could help them discover their potential. The successful collaboration with SMA PGRI can serve as a model for similar activities in the future.

Abstract

This paper examines the critical role of literacy, including digital literacy, in Indonesia’s national development. This qualitative, literature-based study shows that literacy—beyond reading and writing skills—is a key factor in improving the quality of human resources, economic growth, and community welfare. However, unequal access to education and low interest in reading are major obstacles. This paper recommends the development of integrated and community-based literacy programs, improvement of educational infrastructure, and collaboration between government, educational institutions, and communities. Integration of moral values into literacy programs is also considered important for shaping the character and responsibility of citizens. In conclusion, improving literacy is a key driver of sustainable national development in Indonesia.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance vocational students' understanding of innovation, sustainability, and profitability in entrepreneurship. The topic was chosen due to the low entrepreneurial literacy among Gen Z students, particularly in financial management and sustainable business planning. The methods used included interactive lectures, group discussions, business simulations, and pre- and post-activity evaluations. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ understanding, especially in basic financial management and developing innovative, eco-friendly business ideas. Student participation was high, and most groups successfully created simple business plans with projected profits. This activity demonstrated that participatory educational approaches are effective in shaping an adaptive, strategic, and sustainable entrepreneurial mindset among students. These findings highlight the importance of continuing similar programs to support the growth of a youth entrepreneurship ecosystem starting from the school level.
