Abstract

Generally, village fund information is delivered in manual format or through printed materials. This type of information delivery is difficult for certain groups to understand, resulting in low community participation in village development planning and evaluation. A new approach is needed, involving the application of information technology through the visualization of village fund planning and budget realization data. This community service program aimed to increase the transparency of village fund management through training in data visualization of planning and budget realization, thereby providing village officials, neighborhood associations, family welfare programs, youth organizations, and young people with an understanding of the importance of information disclosure and the skills to process budget data digitally. The activities are carried out through a combination of theory, practice, group discussions, and monitoring and evaluation. Participants were trained to use Microsoft Excel to present data in the form of infographics, tables, and diagrams that are easy to understand. In this way, the community can obtain a clearer picture of village fund management. The community service activity was designed to last for 6 months (June to November 2025) and the training was conducted over 2 days with a duration of 10 hours, divided into 5 hours per day. The results of the activity showed an average increase in participants’ knowledge and skills of 34 points. This activity can improve participants’ skills and knowledge in visualizing village fund planning and realization data.

Abstract

The low consumption of vegetables and fruits in Indonesia remains a nutritional problem that contributes to an increased risk of non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and obesity. One of the efforts to address this issue is through the utilization of home yards as a source of family food. This community service program aimed to improve knowledge, skills, and nutritional awareness by optimizing home yards into nutrition gardens, thereby strengthening household food security, reducing family expenses, and supporting economic improvement. The program was conducted on July 31, 2025 in Sukahurip Subdistrict, Tamansari District, Tasikmalaya City, West Java, with the target participants being “Kelompok Wanita Tani” (KWT) and Posyandu cadres, with a total of 35 participants. The program was conducted using a participatory approach through five stages: socialization, training in gardening skills and nutrition education, application of nutrition garden technology, mentoring, and evaluation. The results showed an increase in participants’ knowledge regarding the benefits of vegetable and fruit consumption as well as the utilization of limited land. The average knowledge score increased from 6,65 (pre-test) to 8,60 (post-test) with p-value = 0,001, indicating a significant difference before and after the intervention. The final evaluation of the program will be carried out through surveis and interviews to assess the improvement in vegetable and fruit consumption, the utilization of home yards as nutrition gardens, and participants’ understanding of balanced nutrition practices.

Abstract

The nutritional needs of school-age children increase with physical activity and rapid growth, yet many children do not consume a balanced, nutritious diet. One reason is the habit of consuming unhealthy snacks, which are generally low in nutrients and high in sugar, salt, and fat. This activity aims to increase elementary school students' knowledge about healthy and nutritious snacks through interactive, game-based education (edugame). The activity design included providing education to students and teachers, accompanied by pre-tests and post-tests to measure the level of knowledge. Initial observations showed that the types of snacks sold around the school consisted of wet snacks, dry snacks, and packaged drinks with varying nutritional qualities. After education through edugame media, there was an increase in student knowledge as indicated by an increase in the average score from 65,0 (sufficient category) to 73,2 (good category), with a difference of 8,2 points. Based on the classification of knowledge levels, before education, 25% of students were in the good category, 46,3% were sufficient, and 28,7% were poor. After the activity, the proportion of students in the good category increased to 47,5%, while the fair category decreased to 40% and the poor category to 12,5%. These results indicate that the edugame method is effective in improving students' understanding of the concept of healthy snacks. It is recommended that schools integrate this educational activity into thematic learning or extracurricular activities, and collaborate with relevant agencies such as community health centers or health departments to support the program's sustainability.

Abstract

Adolescents represent a critical age group in the formation of lifestyle habits, including dietary patterns. This community service program aimed to improve adolescents’ understanding of ultra-processed foods (UPF) through interactive digital education. The main issue faced by the partner school was students’ limited knowledge of the health impacts of UPF consumption, largely due to the widespread availability of fast food in the school environment. The intervention employed a hybrid approach combining face-to-face and online activities at SMK Bina Pangudi Luhur Jakarta, involving 27 eleventh-grade students. Educational methods included lectures, interactive discussions, and educational games using PowerPoint, Instagram, and Kahoot. Evaluation using pre- and post-tests showed a significant increase in knowledge (p-value = 0,001), indicating that digital education was effective in enhancing adolescents’ nutrition literacy and awareness regarding UPF.

Abstract

Sedentary lifestyle and imbalanced nutritional status are major risk factors for metabolic syndrome, including among adolescents. Currently, many adolescents experience a lack of physical activity due to various factors, including excessive use of gadgets, prolonged sitting during study, and unhealthy eating habits. This community service activity aimed to educate students of Ar-Raihan Boarding School, Lampung, regarding sedentary lifestyle, nutritional status, and the prevention of metabolic syndrome. The methods included health promotion through interactive counseling, simple nutritional status assessment using Body Mass Index (BMI) measurement, blood pressure examination, and random blood glucose examination, as well as group discussions. The health education activities were successfully implemented and received positive responses from students. Screening results showed variations in nutritional status and health conditions that served as the basis for providing educational feedback. After the intervention, students demonstrated increased understanding of sedentary lifestyle risk factors and the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle to prevent metabolic syndrome. This health education program is expected to be implemented sustainably to support the development of healthy behaviors from adolescence.

Abstract

Migrant workers often face challenges in maintaining a healthy quality of life due to various factors, including unsupportive work environments, lack of access to healthcare facilities, and unhealthy lifestyles. In addition, the increase in carbon emissions related to human activities has become a global issue that requires serious attention. Combining efforts to improve quality of life with steps to reduce carbon emissions can help achieve the SDGs, namely good health and well-being, clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, and climate action. This Community Service Program (PkM) aims to: (1) improve healthy living quality through education and implementation of healthy lifestyles, (2) raise awareness about the importance of maintaining health and the environment simultaneously, and (3) reduce the carbon footprint by promoting low-carbon lifestyles. The method used is an integrated approach that involves four stages: (1) education and training through seminars and workshops, (2) facilitating access to healthcare facilities, (3) campaigns and mentoring to encourage lifestyle changes, and (4) evaluation and monitoring to measure the program's impact. The results of this program show that migrant workers have high awareness in adopting healthy and low-carbon lifestyles, although improvements are still needed in some areas such as recycling and the selection of low-carbon products. In conclusion, this program can make a real contribution to improving the quality of life of migrant workers while reducing negative environmental impacts. Recommendations for future programs include strengthening recycling campaigns and increasing awareness of low-carbon product consumption.
