Abstract

Education plays a vital role in shaping students' character, morals, and knowledge, particularly in fostering environmental awareness. However, current conditions indicate that many school environments remain poorly maintained due to low student awareness. Community service activities at SDN Curahdami 3 aimed to instill healthy living habits from an early age in order to create a safe and harmonious school environment. The program was implemented through three meetings (September 26–October 10, 2025) involving students in grades 4, 5, and 6, using descriptive methods with audio-visual media along with classroom and field practices. The results showed an overall improvement of approximately 50%, reflecting increased student understanding and positive behavioral changes in environmental stewardship and healthy lifestyles. Students became more cooperative, hygienic, and inclined to choose nutritious foods. Healthy living education proved effective in cultivating empathy, solidarity, and care for the surrounding environment.

Abstract

This community service program was conducted at PT Kayaba Indonesia to address disciplinary problems among production operators, including tardiness, non-compliance with personal protective equipment use, and violations of break-time rules. The program aimed to strengthen the capacity of frontline supervisors to manage team discipline through an educative-participatory approach based on contextual leadership training. Activities included needs identification, material development, interactive classroom training, an initial diagnosis of leadership styles, and evaluation through observation and reflective discussion, involving 50 production supervisors. Results showed that most participants tended toward a transactional leadership style, while disciplinary enforcement remained reactive and target-oriented. The program raised participants' awareness of their strategic role in shaping subordinates' work behavior. These findings point to the need for follow-up actions, including ongoing coaching, integration into the performance management system, and the development of employee communication mechanisms, so that discipline enforcement becomes a consistent and sustainable part of the organizational system.

Abstract

Merapeak Outdoor is a micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) engaged in the rental of camping equipment and other outdoor activities. The business faces several operational challenges, including manual rental management, poor inventory control, limited product information, and restricted marketing reach. To address these issues, a web-based information system was developed to optimize rental services and support day-to-day business operations. The system was built using the Model-View-Controller (MVC) framework supported by a REST API for data communication between the front-end and back-end. Functional testing was conducted through black-box testing, and system validation was carried out in collaboration with the business partner to verify that all features meet the agreed requirements. The resulting web application simplifies the rental transaction process and contributes to improved operational productivity at Merapeak Outdoor.

Abstract

Based on interviews with the Head of RT 001/RW 015 in Karang Tengah Village, health problems identified among children in the area include diarrhea, upper respiratory tract infections, tuberculosis, dengue fever, malnutrition, and typhoid fever. One contributing factor is poor nutritional management at the family level. Mothers serve as the primary managers within the household, yet many lack sufficient knowledge regarding family nutrition management. This community service activity was carried out through health education lectures and focus group discussions (FGDs). The lecture sessions covered nutritional intake, family nutrition management, and the consequences of poor nutritional practices, supported by PowerPoint presentations. The FGDs guided participants in developing daily family menus based on balanced nutritional standards using provided worksheets. Pre-test and post-test assessments were conducted to evaluate effectiveness. Results showed an increase in respondents' scores following the activity, with the largest increase observed in the question on the Pillars of Balanced Nutrition, rising from 14.3% to 54.8%. Similar activities are recommended to be conducted regularly, with more time allocated for simulation sessions to better support mothers in applying family nutrition management.

Abstract

Women-owned micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) often face technical production constraints that hinder business growth, including inefficient workflows, inconsistent raw material quality, limited innovation, and weak packaging competitiveness, common among informally managed home-based enterprises. This community service activity aimed to strengthen the production capability of women MSMEs under the Forum Komunikasi Komite Sekolah (FKKS) in Ciracas District through participatory production training, focusing on workflow efficiency, raw material standardization, product diversification, and packaging improvement. Thirty women entrepreneurs participated through workshops, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and four weeks of mentoring. Results show substantial behavioral change: 81% established raw material standards, 93% developed new product variants or improved packaging, 90% applied more efficient workflows, and 82% achieved better product consistency. These findings indicate that practical, production-oriented assistance can meaningfully improve technical capability and competitiveness among women-led MSMEs.

Abstract

Mangrove ecosystems play a strategic role in protecting coastlines from abrasion, supporting biodiversity, and mitigating climate change through blue carbon storage. Environmental pressures have degraded mangroves across Indonesia's coasts, including Pari Island, where observations revealed mild abrasion, declining vegetation, and limited understanding of blue economy-based conservation. This activity aimed to raise environmental awareness and support coastal rehabilitation through mangrove planting and blue economy education on Pari Island, Seribu Islands, in collaboration with Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Indonesia Jakarta, Indonesia Blue Economy, and Maritim Muda Indonesia. A participatory approach was applied, comprising environmental outreach, blue economy education, planting technique training, and direct planting. Forty-seven participants planted 500 Rhizophora mucronata seedlings, and the average score increased from 61.5 (pre-test) to 87.3 (post-test). Beyond improving knowledge of mangrove functions and blue economy concepts, the activity strengthened collaboration among universities, environmental communities, and local residents for sustainable coastal development. These findings indicate that combining education with field action can raise awareness and support coastal rehabilitation.

Abstract

Community-based waste management systems in developing economies often suffer from fragmented asset governance, reactive maintenance, and underutilized social infrastructure, limiting operational efficiency and sustainability. This study addresses these inefficiencies through a community service intervention at TPST 3R Gading Kulon, Malang City, integrating construction asset management with social infrastructure revitalization. The program adopts a socio-technical systems perspective, repositioning infrastructure as both a functional asset and a platform for community empowerment. The intervention included infrastructure reconfiguration, systematic asset inventory, standardized maintenance protocols, and accountable financial-asset recording systems. Results show significant improvements in infrastructure functionality, asset traceability, and governance quality, while reactivated educational spaces, meeting areas, and waste bank facilities strengthened community participation. The study proposes a scalable, integrative model linking technical asset governance with socio-economic outcomes, supporting SDG 9, SDG 11, and Indonesia's RPJMN 2025–2029.
