Abstract

In the 2020s, the internet has increasingly facilitated access, leading to a rise in its usage frequency. Adolescents often struggle to control their internet usage. Emotional intelligence is one factor that can help regulate internet use. When adolescents reach the age of 18-21, it is found that those already addicted find it difficult to change their behavior. Therefore, efforts and understanding are needed regarding adolescents in their earlier years, specifically, those aged 12-15. This research aims to examine the relationship between emotional intelligence and internet addiction. The study adopts a quantitative correlational method, involving 150 students aged 12-15 from X Junior High School in Tangerang and X Junior High School in Jakarta. Measurements include tools for assessing emotional intelligence and internet addiction. The results indicate a negative correlation between emotional intelligence and internet addiction, meaning that higher emotional intelligence is associated with lower internet addiction. Based on the findings, to prevent internet addiction, emotional intelligence needs to be enhanced, although the results also show an inverse relationship.

Abstract

The Pamsimas Development, which is one of the government programs aimed at improving access to drinking water and sanitation, is funded by the state budget allocated to specific regions. Implemented since 2008, Pamsimas has had a positive impact on communities scattered across villages and urban areas, especially in meeting the needs for drinking water, sanitation, and promoting health behavior changes. Currently, Pamsimas is considered a flagship program for the development of drinking water and sanitation supply systems in rural and urban areas, aiming to increase the number of residents who can access drinking water and sanitation services. The program also seeks to enhance the adoption of clean and healthy living values and behaviors, with the goal of achieving 100% access to drinking water and sanitation by 2024. Pamsimas is viewed as a strategic step in improving community access to drinking water and sanitation, with a community-based approach that emphasizes empowerment and sustainability as key factors for success. The role of Field Facilitators (FF) is crucial in maintaining the quality and success of the PAMSIMAS program implementation. Close collaboration with relevant stakeholders, local governments, and the community is essential to effectively achieve program objectives. In the implementation of PAMSIMAS development, discrepancies between proposed plans and actual realization often occur, highlighting the need for the role of Technical Implementing Officers (Field Facilitators) in rationalizing planning outcomes for PAMSIMAS development.

Abstract

This research explores the understanding of death based on 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, death rites according to Pamona Culture, and Christian religious education strategies for the GKST Immanuel Taripa congregation when confronting death. Utilizing qualitative methods with a descriptive analytical hermeneutic approach, the study employs historical-critical and reader response methods, focusing on the process and meaning of death in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 and Pamona cultural death rites. Phenomenological methods were also applied to capture subjective experiences. Data collection involved participant observation, interviews, and documentation studies.Findings reveal that Christ is perceived as the sole foundation and unwavering source of hope in the face of death. Belief in Christ's resurrection is seen as a solid foundation, offering profound meaning and spiritual tranquility. In Pamona culture, death rites play a crucial role in preserving local values, beliefs, and traditions, with deep symbolic meaning expressing love, togetherness, and cultural continuity. The integration of culture as a theological tool connects Pamona cultural values with Bible teachings and church life experiences. Christian Religious Education views culture as an opportunity to understand and appreciate community values, traditions, and wisdom. In facing death, the church implements education by combining Pamona cultural aspects into death rites, enriching these rites with comforting and affirming Biblical teachings. The research underscores the importance of incorporating local culture into Christian religious learning, advocating for conversations about death and culture that involve various generations through the intergenerational method.
