Abstract

Training on the use of AI and Canva in creating creative learning media for lecturers and teachers is a crucial skill for every lecturer and teacher. The use of technology in education is increasingly important with the development of the digital era. This research and activity aims to improve the ability of lecturers and teachers to design creative and engaging learning media through the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and the graphic design application Canva. Through a practice-based training approach, participants are equipped with the knowledge and skills to utilize various AI features in compiling materials and using Canva to design interactive and visual learning media displays. The results of the activity show an increase in participants' creativity and efficiency in creating teaching materials, as well as an increased understanding of the use of digital technology to support the learning process. This activity is expected to encourage innovation and improve the quality of teaching in higher education and school environments.

Abstract

Cyberbullying is an increasingly alarming social phenomenon in the digital era, especially among students. This community service aims to educate students about the forms, impacts, and prevention of cyberbullying. Through awareness sessions, participants showed improved understanding (11.72%), awareness of impacts (7.98%), and responsive attitudes (8.36%). These results indicate that the education program was effective in fostering awareness and readiness to address cyberbullying. The initiative also highlights the importance of collaboration between families, schools, and communities in building collective efforts to prevent and combat cyberbullying.

Abstract

Community Service Program: Socialization on Cybercrime and the Importance of Personal Data Security for the Residents of Bengkong Kolam Mas, Bengkong Sadai Village, Bengkong District, Batam City By Group 4 of the Community Service Program (KPM), Faculty of Science and Technology, Ibnu Sina University, Academic Year 2024/2025. The aim of this program is to raise awareness and understanding among the community about the threats of cybercrime in the digital era. The activity includes an initial survey to assess the community's level of knowledge, the delivery of theoretical material on various types of cybercrime, prevention practices, and an evaluation through pre-tests and post-tests. Participants were provided with insights on the importance of safeguarding personal data, recognizing different forms of digital fraud, and security measures when using devices and internet services. The results of the program indicate an increase in participants' understanding of cybercrime after attending the socialization session. Participants have become more aware of the importance of digital security and recognizing cyber threats in their daily lives. Positive feedback suggests that this program is effective as a model for digital literacy education and efforts to prevent cybercrime in the Batam City community.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to enhance students’ understanding of social media content management for digital entrepreneurship at SMA PGRI Pekanbaru. The 8-hour workshop involved 50 selected students and focused on three key areas: content planning, social media algorithm optimization, and content performance analysis. Evaluation using questionnaires and quizzes showed a significant improvement of 82.5% in participants’ understanding. Specifically, the ability to create content schedules increased from 25% to 89%, strategic hashtag usage from 18% to 76%, and content insight analysis from 12% to 68%. Additionally, 73% of students could create a one-week content calendar, and 65% identified optimal posting times based on audience analysis. The learning-by-doing approach through business account simulations proved effective. Main challenges included limited student perspectives and varying levels of digital literacy. Solutions included self-study modules and group division based on skill levels. The program recommends integrating social media content management into school entrepreneurship curricula with continuous practice and periodic evaluation.

Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has opened up significant opportunities in the field of education, particularly in enhancing creativity and learning efficiency. One relevant application of AI is the use of Gamma AI to support the creation of engaging and interactive learning documents and presentations. In response to this potential, a community service program was carried out to train students of SMKN 5 Pekanbaru in utilizing Gamma AI. The training aimed to equip participants with fundamental knowledge, practical skills, and improved digital literacy to face the challenges of the digital era. The results of the program indicated a significant increase in students’ understanding of AI concepts, their ability to use Gamma AI effectively, and their motivation to further develop their skills. This activity also produced tangible outputs in the form of media publication and submission to a community service journal.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi informasi yang pesat di era digital menjadi tantangan serius bagi generasi muda, terutama terkait masifnya penyebaran hoaks dan ancaman baru seperti deepfake. Permasalahan ini juga ditemukan di lingkungan SMKN 7 Pekanbaru, sebuah sekolah kejuruan berbasis teknologi, di mana para siswanya menunjukkan tingkat literasi digital yang rendah. Observasi awal mengidentifikasi minimnya pemahaman siswa terhadap teknologi deepfake serta rendahnya keterampilan dalam menggunakan alat verifikasi informasi yang kredibel. Menjawab tantangan tersebut, dilaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat berupa pelatihan teknis dengan dua fokus utama. Pertama, melatih siswa untuk mengenali dan menganalisis konten deepfake. Kedua, memberikan keterampilan praktis dalam menggunakan Google Fact Check Explorer untuk memeriksa kebenaran berita. Metode pelatihan dilakukan secara langsung di laboratorium komputer untuk memastikan penguasaan keterampilan. Hasilnya, kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran dan pemahaman siswa terhadap manipulasi digital, serta membekali mereka dengan kemampuan verifikasi informasi secara mandiri. Pelatihan ini secara efektif berkontribusi pada penguatan kompetensi literasi digital, membentuk siswa menjadi pengguna teknologi yang lebih kritis, cerdas, dan bertanggung jawab

Abstract

The Leuser Ecosystem Area is an ecosystem area protected which contains a variety of biodiversity, most importantly endemic animals such as orangutans, Sumatran rhinos, Sumatran tigers and Sumatran elephants. Serbajadi District, East Aceh Regency is an area included in the Leuser Ecosystem area where cases of conflict between humans and wild animals often occur, such as damage to residents' plantations and agricultural areas by wild animals and even cases of death of wild animals and humans. This community service activity related to awareness of wildlife habitat conservation is carried out with the aim of providing an early understanding of the importance of understanding conservation of wild animal habitats from an early age through learning media with Android-based animation. The method used in this activity is Participatory Action Research. This activity was carried out in a participatory manner between the school as a partner, non-governmental organizations as sources of data on wildlife conflict cases, and the service team. Learning media in the form of Android-based animations is presented based on conditions occurring in society related to wildlife habitat conservation and solutions to problems that arise.  The results of this activity are through Android-based animation media that is appropriate to the age level of students so that early awareness emerges within students of the importance of conservation of wild animal habitats as part of efforts to resolve frequent cases of conflict between wild animals and humans occurred in that area.
