Abstract

Parental involvement in children's education has long been recognized as a crucial factor influencing children's academic and social development. During the Covid-19 pandemic, many children transitioned to online learning, requiring active parental participation to support their learning processes. This study aims to explore the impact of parental involvement on children's independence and literacy during the pandemic, as well as how such support can foster positive learning habits. This study was conducted in several elementary schools in urban and rural areas, involving 200 parents and their children. Data were collected through surveys and in-depth interviews to understand the level of parental involvement and its impact on children's independence and literacy skills. The primary focus of this research is to identify strategies used by parents to support their children's learning during remote education. The research employed both quantitative and qualitative methods. Quantitative analysis was conducted to measure the relationship between parental involvement levels and children's independence and literacy, while qualitative analysis provided in-depth insights into the experiences of parents and children during the pandemic. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques, as well as thematic analysis for qualitative data. The findings indicate that parental involvement significantly enhances children's learning independence and literacy skills. Children who received active support from their parents exhibited higher motivation to learn and better reading abilities compared to those with less support. These results emphasize the importance of parental roles in children's education, particularly in the context of online learning during the pandemic.

Abstract

This study discusses the application of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) type cooperative learning model to improve the mathematical addition ability of grade 1 students of SDN 04 Serengseng. The STAD model is designed to encourage cooperation between students in small, heterogeneous groups. The learning process begins with the delivery of material by the teacher, followed by group discussion activities where students share their understanding with each other and solve addition problems together. Each student in the group has a role and responsibility to contribute to the success of their team. Teachers act as facilitators who monitor the learning process, provide direction, and ensure the active involvement of all students. In the final stage, students take individual quizzes to assess their understanding, and awards are given to groups that show significant progress. This approach focuses not only on academic outcomes, but also on developing social skills, such as the ability to communicate, collaborate, and appreciate the opinions of others. The STAD learning model is expected to create a fun learning atmosphere, increase students' motivation, and help them understand the concept of addition better. With structured learning, students can strengthen their maths skills while building positive social relationships in the learning environment.

Abstract

The ability to understand mathematical concepts of students is still relatively low, so that more factual learning is needed for students, one of which is with thei eithnomatheimatics approach. This study aims to deiteirminei thei eiffeict of thei eithnomatheimatics approach at thei Simalungun Museium on studeints' ability to undeirstand matheimatical conceipts. This study is a Quasi-Eixpeirimeint study with a samplei of class X-3 of 36 studeints. Thei data analysis teichniquei useis thei t-teist, nameily thei Paireid Samplei T Teist with thei heilp of IBM SPSS Statistics 25 softwarei. Thei reisults of thei study showeid that  was reijeicteid, wheirei thei  is  and thei  valuei is , so it can bei concludeid that theirei is an eiffeict of thei eithnomatheimatics approach at thei Simalungun Museium on thei ability to undeirstand matheimatical conceipts of class X studeints of SMA Budi Mulia Peimatang Siantar. The researcher hopes that this research will be one of the inputs for the mathematics learning curriculum and can be used as basic material for balancing contextual mathematics learning materials based on local culture.

Abstract

Physical activity plays an important role in adolescents' mental health. Increased activity can help reduce levels of stress, depression, and anxiety. This study aims to analyse the relationship between physical activity levels and mental health conditions in 220 students of Al-Islam Krian High School with an age range of 17 to 19 years, consisting of 70 male students (30%) and 150 female students (70%). This research design uses quantitative descriptive method through observation. The instruments used were the International Physical Activity Questionnaire Short Form (IPAQ SF) to measure physical activity levels and the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale 21 (DASS 21) to assess stress, depression, and anxiety. The results showed that 10% of students had low physical activity, 59% were moderate, and 31% were high. Data were analysed using SPSS 29 with the significance results of stress (p = -0.067), depression (p = -0.044), and anxiety (p = -0.031). Based on correlational analysis, it was found that there was no significant relationship, but it was negative. This means that the higher the physical activity, the lower the levels of stress, depression, and anxiety. Physical activity does not directly play a role in mental health factors, but has a tendency to reduce stress, depression, and anxiety in adolescents.

Abstract

Education is a right that can be obtained by every citizen, both because he is a human being who has a mind and then develops himself and also because it is the need of every individual in following the times. The purpose of this research is to examine the rights of every person, especially citizens, in obtaining education amidst the rapid development of the times and will continue to grow and as a fulfilment of efforts in realising the noble goal of educating the nation's life. This research uses a normative juridical method, namely by using a examining literature & books along with laws and regulations related to the problem under study. Based on the review of the literature, it is found that education is an inherent right as an element that everyone must get in the process of one's development which will later give birth to quality generations that can maintain the values that exist in a society, many laws and regulations have been passed in order to fulfil the rights of everyone in obtaining education as a form of responsibility that the state provides. However, there are still difficulties for citizens to get their full rights. This is due to inadequate family economic factors, social conditions and the mindset of people who are less concerned about education, as well as unequal access to education to remote areas. Thus there are still many rights of citizens that need to be fought for as their right to education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan media flashcard untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa disleksia di SD IT Al Minah, Jenis penelitian yang digunakan penulis adalah penelitian kualitatif, dengan metode deskriptif. Pendekatan penelitian kualitatif adalah suatu jenis penelitian yang bersifat deskriptif serta cenderung pada penggunaan sebuah analisis yang lebih mendalam.Penulis memperoleh informasi bahwa siswa kelas I SD IT Al Minah berjumlah 23 siswa. Terdapat 5 siswa yang sudah mempunyai kemampuan membaca awal yang baik serta 20 siswa yang masih mengalami kesulitan atau ketidakmampuan dalam memulai membaca.Media pembelajaran flashcard adalah alat yang digunakan oleh guru sebagai bahan komunikasi guru selama proses pembelajaran di kelas untuk menyampaikan pesan kepada siswa. Disleksia adalah suatu gangguan neurologis yang mempengaruhi kemampuan seseorang untuk memproses informasi bahasa tertulis. Kondisi ini tidak terkait dengan inteligensi atau kemampuan akademik seseorang, tetapi lebih terkait dengan cara otak memproses informasi bahasa tertulis. Evaluasi dan refleksi untuk mengatasi siswa disleksia sangat penting untuk memastikan strategi yang diterapkan efektif dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan mereka

Abstract

This study aims to describe: (1) the effect of implementing PjBL learning modals on the ability to write narrative essays in grade 5 students of UPT SPF SDN 101783 Saentis in the 2024/2025 Academic Year, (2) categories of narrative essay writing abilities before and after implementing PjBL learning modals in control and experimental classes, and (3) explain the causes of low narrative essay writing abilities in grade 5 students of UPT SPF SDN 101783 Saentis in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The sample of this study was all grade 5 students of UPT SPF SDN 101783 Saentis in the 2021/2022 Academic Year, totaling 90 students who would be placed in 2 different classes, namely 45 students in the experimental class and 45 students in the control class. The method used in this study was an experiment of the quasi-experimental design type. A narrative essay writing ability test was used to collect data. The research data analysis technique used the t-test formula. The results of the hypothesis test prove that the t count is 6.46 where the t table value is df = 58 which is 1.67, then the t count is obtained.> t table or 6.46> 1.67 so that it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The research findings show that (1) there is an influence of the implementation of PjBL learning capital on the ability to write narrative essays in grade 5 students of UPT SPF SDN 101783 Saentis in the 2024/2025 Academic Year, (2) the category of narrative essay writing ability before and after the implementation of PjBL learning capital is different and shows improvement, (3) based on the results of interviews with students, it is known that the low ability to write narrative essays in grade 5 students of UPT SPF SDN 101783 Saentis in the 2024/2025 Academic Year is that students are less able to write a storyline based on events that occur, students have difficulty expressing

Abstract

This study is a correlational research using a quantitative approach. It specifically aims to examine the contribution of upper and lower limb maximal strength during the start phase and overall performance in 50-meter freestyle sprint swimming among athletes from the Club Science Swimming Team. The study involves two independent variables (upper limb maximal strength and lower limb maximal strength) and one dependent variable (sprint swimming performance). Data were collected using a timing device to measure the speed of each athlete in the 50-meter freestyle sprint. The sample consisted of 10 athletes selected through purposive sampling, based on criteria set by the study—namely, swimmers aged between 8 and 12 years old. The data analysis involved normality testing, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analysis. The results show that both upper and lower limb maximal strength have an influence on sprint performance. However, regression analysis revealed that the contribution of both variables was not statistically significant. Among the two, lower limb strength contributed more to swimming speed compared to upper limb strength.

Abstract

Autonomy to create student-centered and contextual learning, including Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning, is given by the Independent Curriculum to educational units. However, the implementation of this curriculum is full of obstacles, especially related to the process of evaluating student learning. The implementation of PAI learning based on the Independent Curriculum at SMKN 14 Jakarta will be evaluated, along with the challenges faced by teachers and the evaluation techniques used. This study uses an evaluative technique that combines formative and summative assessments along with descriptive qualitative methodology. Information was collected through recording the implementation of learning assessments, in-depth interviews with vice principals and educators, and observations. According to the research findings, the learning assessment process has been based on the principles of Independent Curriculum, which includes flexible scheduling and technology evaluation techniques such as Google Forms. The main challenges include differences in students' understanding of the subject matter, lack of helpful criticism, and lack of learning time. Although teacher feedback techniques still vary from one-way to more reflective and interactive, peer counseling strategies are used to address student ability inequalities. The successful implementation of this curriculum depends on a number of elements, including parent and school support, availability of technology, and instructor competence. The conclusions of this study emphasize that comprehensive learning assessment must take into account the various characteristics of students and emphasize the importance of two-way communication in the teaching and learning process. Building a learning environment that encourages student character growth requires the use of a respectful and humanistic approach.

Abstract

This study aims to identify, analyze, and synthesize relevant findings in previous studies to build a strong context for further investigation. The method used is a library study to analyze the feminist approach based on Sara Mills' theory, focusing on Subject Position Analysis, Gender Representation in Discourse, Power Relations, and Social and Historical Context. The main character, Re, embodies various subject positions, variously depicted as a victim and a strong figure facing patriarchal domination. The narrative critiques the patriarchal social structure, emphasizing gender inequality that persists across generations. Re's complex character reflects both vulnerability and strength, depicting the tension between her profession as a sex worker and her moral values ​​as a mother. The novel further explores the dynamics of power, particularly through characters such as Mami Lani, who exemplifies the domination of women in a patriarchal system, highlighting the interconnected nature of gender, power, and societal expectations. As such, the narrative serves as a critical examination of sexuality and social injustice.
