Abstract

Abstract: The existence of Toyomarto tourist village is expanding with the increasing number of tourists visiting the area. Visitors come for various purposes, ranging from religious (spiritual) activities to non-spiritual activities. As a village that has declared itself a tourist village, Toyomarto needs to formulate its image/identity so that it can be known by the wider public and have a stronger bargaining position compared to other villages. Therefore, Toyomarto needs to brand itself to become better, more advanced, and more developed. For this reason, a community service program titled “Design Planning as a Strategy for Tourism Branding Based on Oral Traditions in Toyomarto Village, Singosari District, Malang Regency” was initiated as a strategic program to brand Toyomarto as a tourist village among the wider community. Generally, this community service program is carried out through the utilization of research on local narratives (folk tales, myths, traditional arts, traditional expressions) found in Toyomarto Village. The local narratives will be specifically selected based on criteria related to water sources. Through a synthesis of various local narrative sources, these will be visualized in the form of graphic logo designs and illustrations, which can be applied as promotional media and unique merchandise based on the stories of Toyomarto Village.

Abstract

This technical guidance activity was carried out with the aim of socializing the preparation of the21st century Learning Implementation Plan because there are still many biases faced by teachers,especially EFL teachers, related to changes in systems, learning media, and so on, plus, English isincreasingly crucial, so that the role of the EFL teacher must also be adjusted relevantly to the newculture. The data in this study are the results of a questionnaire and the data source is thequestionnaire. The subjects are the participants of the technical guidance who are also EFLteachers and EFL pre-service teachers. The instruments are 5 questions on Strengthening EducationCharacter, 5 questions on Literacy, and 5 questions on HOTS in the Learning Implementation Plan.From the results of the activity, it can be concluded that EFL teachers and EFL pre-service teachersare still not encouraged to strengthen education character but they have realized the importance ofliteracy development and implementation of HOTS in the 21st century Learning ImplementationPlan which is very relevant to technological and digital civilization.

Abstract

In addition to teaching, teachers are expected to have the ability to write scientific papers as part of their professional development. The challenges teachers face in writing scientific papers are largely due to limited time for research and a lack of understanding of the rules for writing scientific papers. The aim of this community service program is to map the needs of English teachers in improving their professionalism through scientific writing. The method used to achieve this objective is to conduct research and article writing mentoring for journals, totaling at least 30 hours of face-to-face or online sessions. This community service is a replication of last year's initiative, which was implemented in collaboration with the English Language Teachers' Association (MGMP) of Senior High Schools and Vocational Schools across Malang City. This previous initiative proved effective and successfully assisted six teachers in publishing journal articles. This community service initiative is being implemented for English teachers in the districts of Malang and Batu City. Through this activity, it is hoped that the challenges and obstacles faced by English teachers in writing scientific papers to enhance professionalism will be identified.

Abstract

Enhancing and promoting Toyomarto's unique cultural products, particularly in the form of cultural literacy, has so far received little attention from the community, even though this could be utilized as a tourist attraction and has the potential to attract tourists. Based on this, Toyomarto Village, as a tourist village, is worthy of developing the idea of cultural literacy to be showcased at the Pentungan Sari craft corner tourist spot. The objective of this community service activity is to provide an opportunity for the Toyomarto community to revive the village's small and medium enterprises (SMEs) regarding Toyomarto's signature products, enhance and promote Toyomarto's unique cultural products, particularly through cultural literacy initiatives, thereby transforming them into tourist attractions and attracting visitors. Additionally, it aims to deepen visitors' and the community's understanding of cultural literacy by highlighting the diverse potential and traditions surrounding Pentungan Sari, as well as to improve cultural literacy and educational facilities for local residents, particularly students at the kindergarten to junior high school levels in Toyomarto Village. The benefits gained from this community service include: (1) economic benefits that can open up opportunities for the Toyomarto community to revive village MSMEs regarding Toyomarto's signature products. With the reestablishment of local MSMEs, it will add value to the community's economy, thereby enabling the community to become independent and prosperous. (2) Cultural benefits, which are expected to promote Toyomarto's unique cultural products, from cultural literacy materials to tangible products, thereby becoming an attractive destination for tourists, (3) Economic and strategic benefits for the image of the Toyomarto village government, which is expected to serve as an alternative for the broader community to promote literacy.

Abstract

In the implementation of the PKM (community service) program, it is in the form of using durian skin raw materials to be used as battery material. This training was addressed to PKK women ds. Panemon sugihwaras Bojonegoro. This workshop aims to provide knowledge and training to PKK women that the waste used for cooking can be useful. The output targets of this community service program are 1) training on making briquettes/batteries from durian skin 2) knowledge about renewable energy related to waste in daily life and 3) scientific publications. The method used in this activity uses an informal discussion between individuals and PKK groups. In this activity, information was extracted about PKK activities that have been implemented and have not been implemented in order to find out how far the existing programs in the village are. These results are used as the preparation of initial information as PKM data. The result of this PKM activity is the practice of making briquettes for PKK mothers in utilizing durian skin waste. The conclusion of this activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of PKK mothers for an activity to utilize existing waste in the village environment.  Keywords: Renewable energy, durian peel, battery

Abstract

Community service is held as a form of synergy of activities that are expected to be able to provide practical and versatile solutions for the community. The activities of this service program are focused on introducing and training basic persuasive copywriting as a promotional strategy in the era of the digital economy. The assisted subjects are the youth of Karangtaruna dukuh Gondang Legi, Jumapuro, and Brongkol in Karanganyar Regency. The method of conducting the midwifery is carried out in three stages, namely 1) preparation, 2) implementation, and 3) evaluation. This community service activity has a range of results, including: a) knowing and understanding the concept of persuasive copywriting, b) knowing the types of persuasive copywriting, and c) being able to make promotional sentences using persuasive copywriting techniques. From the results of making taglines or promotional sentences made with copywriting techniques, as many as 55 participants have been able to apply copywriting techniques by making promotional sentences using the same rhyme. Meanwhile, other participants are still trying to design promotional sentences. The conclusion of this service activity is that all training participants already understand about online marketing and will enthusiastically apply online marketing materials in which they review copywriting techniques so that they can attract potential consumers.

Abstract

The community service carried out by Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat team at SMKN 11 Malang aims to introduce Japanese culture and language by making posters to increase understanding of Japanese culture and the potential for labor or further study in Japan. Community Service was carried out with two training materials and organized a poster-making competition with materials in the form of Japanese culture and poster-making techniques. The training was conducted on 20 and 22 July 2022. The poster-making competition was held from 22 July to 1 August 2022 in groups. This research also produces art content products, namely posters with elements of Japanese culture. The result of this training and poster-making competition is that the students of SMKN 11 Malang are able to make promotional posters for the Japanese Language Education Study Program well. Students of SMKN 11 Malang majoring in Multimedia and Nursing and collaborating to make promotional posters well in groups.

Abstract

Tourist spots in Toyomarto Village, Singosari District, Malang Regency need to be introduced to tourists. One tourism promotion strategy can be implemented by providing directional signage and information boards for these tourist locations. The signage and information boards are designed with high artistic quality and highlight the local characteristics and unique features of the tourist spots. This community service initiative is carried out with three objectives: (1) to document tourist spots, including archaeological sites, natural attractions, and traditional craft villages, as part of landscape planning efforts to integrate information; (2) to design directional signage and informational texts with artistic flair and local characteristics of the tourist spots; (3) to create and install these directional and informational signs in strategic locations within the tourist spot areas. The installation of these directional signs and information boards is expected to support tourism promotion efforts in Toyomarto Village, Singosari District, Malang Regency. This community service activity was carried out in collaboration with the Malang Regency Tourism Office, the Malang Regency Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Office, the Toyomarto Village Government, the Tourism Working Group, and micro-industry stakeholders. The results of the community service initiative indicate that there are seven key locations required for Phase I, specifically in the Pentungan Sari Tourism Area. These signs are focused on the following spots: gate (1 signboard), hall (2 signboards), swimming pool (2 signboards), toilet (1 signboard), café (1 signboard), and therapeutic fish pond (1 signboard).

Abstract

The community service activities carried out at SMK N 2 Banyumas aim to provide academic writingtraining in order to improve the teachers’ competence at the school. This community service’s themeis a request from teachers in that school who wanted to improve their ability to write scientificpapers. In addition, the results of observations show that the publication of scientific works byteachers of SMK N 2 Banyumas are still lacking. Only a few teachers at SMK N 2 Banyumas havepublished their research results in scientific journals. The methods used in this activity are lectures,discussions, and mentoring. Lectures and discussions are held to present material regardingacademic writing. In addition, knowledge about translating abstracts will also be given because itis part of writing scientific papers. After that, the teachers practice writing scientific papers to bepublished in journals. The results of this community service activities are expected that teachers atthat school will have additional competence in writing scientific papers by applying the theory ofacademic writing.

Abstract

Abstract : The low productivity of teachers in writing scientific papers has become the subject of discussion conducted by the Community Service Team with representatives of the Japanese MGMP teacher in the city of Jombang. There are many factors behind the low teacher publications. Therefore, the Team tried to help increase the number of teacher publications by conducting seminars on classroom action research and followed up with workshops on writing scientific papers. After the workshop activities, a certificate with the conversion of hours (JP) will be given so that it can be used by teachers of Japanese language MGMP members for promotion. Scientific papers that have been written will be reviewed and provided with feedback so that later the article is appropriate and will be directed to be submitted to certain journals in accordance with classroom action research.
