Bakti Sekawan : Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat, merupakan jurnal untuk mendesiminasikan hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat oleh dosen, praktisi, ataupun mahasiswa. Jurnal ini dikelola oleh Pusat Penelitian dan Pengembangan (PUSLITBANG) Sekawan Institute Nusa Tenggara Barat, NTB. Abstract

The digital era has changed people's communication patterns, but it has also increased vulnerability to hoaxes, misinformation, and disinformation, especially among groups with low digital literacy levels. This community service activity aims to improve the digital literacy of the people of North Lombok through a Digital Literacy Seminar with the theme "Smart Reading, Creative Writing, Wise Social Media Use." The activity was held on October 3, 2025, in Bentek Village, involving 40 participants consisting of schoolchildren, university students, teachers, parents, community leaders, and youth activists. The implementation method included interactive lectures, case studies, group discussions, and information verification practices using a lateral reading approach and source credibility evaluation. Evaluation was carried out through pre- and post-tests to measure improvements in participant understanding. The results showed a significant increase in digital literacy, with the average score of participants increasing from 60.4 in the pre-test to 84.5 in the post-test (an increase of 24.1 points). The highest increase occurred in the ability to identify hoaxes, from 58.2 to 86.5. Furthermore, understanding of social media ethics, digital footprints and online privacy, and the credibility of information sources also improved substantially. This activity not only enhanced participants' knowledge and skills but also encouraged a more critical and responsible approach to media use. This program contributes to strengthening public information resilience and has the potential to be developed through community-based digital literacy mentoring.

Abstract

Products with a halal certification label provide consumers with confidence as a form of protection, information on the product's halal status, and an ethical instrument in business. Good business actors with a sense of responsibility strive to obtain halal certification for the products they offer. The purpose of this community service is to provide assistance to MSMEs, such as food stalls or home-based businesses selling lalapan (Bale Lalapan), which have been established for approximately 8 months and do not yet have halal certification, to be directed in obtaining halal certification. The methods used in this community service activity include counseling, assistance, and explanations from the Certification Team to Business Owners facilitated by the Community Service team. The final result of the Community Service activities carried out by the Bumigora team is the issuance of halal certification from the Halal Product Guarantee Organizing Agency. With the issuance of Halal Certification to Bale Lalapan MSMEs, it is hoped that it will be able to increase income while increasing market reach. It is also hoped that Business Owners can understand the benefits of halal labeling of a product and understand the production process that is made according to halal standards with existing provisions, as well as being able to be applied in other business activities so as to be able to increase sales reach to larger institutions and become a motivation for other MSMEs in marketing their products.

Abstract

Household waste consists of various types, one of which is organic waste that easily decomposes, such as vegetable residues, fruits, and kitchen waste. If not properly managed, organic waste can cause unpleasant odors, environmental pollution, and gas emissions that negatively affect the atmosphere. The problem faced by community partners is the limited knowledge and skills in sorting and managing organic waste, resulting in suboptimal utilization of organic waste. To address this issue, a community service activity was conducted to improve residents’ knowledge and skills in processing organic waste into value-added products. The activity applied a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach by providing education on waste classification, explaining the benefits of environmentally friendly fermented liquid (eco enzyme), and conducting hands-on practice of the production process. The materials used included fruit peels, vegetable residues, brown sugar, and water fermented for approximately three months. Before the activity, most residents were unfamiliar with eco enzyme and productive organic waste management. After the activity, the results showed an improvement in residents’ understanding, as well as increased interest in utilizing the fermented liquid as liquid fertilizer, natural cleaner, and potential business opportunity. This program is expected to become a concrete step toward sustainable, environmentally friendly, and community-based waste management with economic value.

Abstract

Balitbangtan Superior Village Chicken (KUB) is one of the innovation results in the development of local poultry that has high prospects as a source of animal protein and income for village communities. This community service activity was carried out to improve the knowledge and skills of farmers regarding appropriate technology in raising KUB chickens. The program implementation method was carried out from September 1 to November 31, 2025 with a participatory approach through the stages, 1) Socialization and Needs Identification, 2) Technical Counseling and Training, 3) Continuous Mentoring and Monitoring and 4) Evaluation and Feedback. This Community Service Activity has been implemented in Pejanggik Village, Central Lombok Regency on Monday, September 1, 2025. The technologies applied are, 1) Cage Technology, 2) Hatching Technology, 3) Feed Technology, 4) Health and Management Technology. The results of the implementation showed a significant increase in the skills and understanding of partners. The average pretest score of 52.5% increased to 94.75% in the posttest. The success rate for implementing cage technology increased from 65% to 94%, hatching technology from 50% to 90%, feeding technology from 55% to 97%, and health and management technology from 55% to 98%. Furthermore, the partner satisfaction questionnaire scored 95% (very satisfied). In conclusion, this program not only improves the technical aspects of KUB chicken farming but also empowers the community.

Abstract

Advances in digital technology require young people to possess adequate digital literacy skills, particularly in digital marketing, which is now a crucial skill in education, the workplace, and entrepreneurship. However, observations indicate that Madrasah Aliyah (MA) students still lack a grasp of digital marketing concepts and practices. This community service activity aims to improve MA students' knowledge and understanding of basic digital marketing concepts, social media promotion strategies, digital branding principles, and consumer behavior in the digital world. The activity is divided into three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The preparation phase includes initial discussions with schools and the development of training materials. During the implementation phase, materials are delivered through interactive lectures and discussions, followed by simple practices using digital platforms. Assessments were conducted using pre- and post-tests to measure student knowledge gains. The results showed significant improvement, with an average pre-test score of 42.7 rising to 82.4 in the post-test. This 39.7-point increase indicates that the training successfully strengthened students' understanding of digital marketing concepts. This activity is effective in improving MA students' digital literacy and is relevant to continue with mentoring to better prepare them to face the challenges of the digital era

Abstract

This community engagement activity aimed to strengthen parents’ knowledge regarding balanced nutrition as part of the Free Nutritious Meal Program for school-aged children. The program was developed in response to persistent issues of low fruit and vegetable intake and unbalanced dietary patterns among students, which may hinder optimal growth and learning performance. The intervention was carried out through structured nutrition education sessions using posters and leaflets, delivered to 60 parents at SDN Cikupa 03 and SDN Cikupa 04. Activities included material presentation, interactive discussions, and pre-post evaluations to identify changes in understanding. The results showed that parents gained a clearer understanding of balanced nutrition principles, the “Isi Piringku” guide, appropriate portion sizes, and practical ways to increase children’s acceptance of fruits and vegetables. Discussions revealed strong parental interest in adopting healthier eating habits at home and overcoming challenges such as children’s preference for packaged foods and irregular eating routines. The program enhanced parents’ capacity to support healthier food environments at home, aligning school-based interventions with daily practices and reinforcing long-term behavior change. In conclusion, the activity effectively improved parental nutrition literacy and encouraged sustainable implementation of balanced nutrition for school-aged children.

Abstract

The post-harvest processing of areca nut (Areca catechu L.) in Fifty Thousand Kota District, which has a plantation area of 1,254 ha with a production of 196.12 tons/year, is often done manually, especially at the stage of slicing young areca nuts into thin slices. The manual method using knives or cutters is time-consuming (8 minutes/kg) and carries a high risk of cuts. However, sliced areca nuts have a higher selling price and low water content (0.9%), which increases farmers' sales by up to 45% compared to whole nuts. Therefore, this community service activity (PkM) aims to overcome these problems through training and demonstrations on the use of young areca nut slicing machines to 15 participants from farmer groups at the FRD Pinang Raya SME, Mungo, Limapuluhkota Regency. The methods used include coordination, needs assessment, machine testing, and participatory practical training. The results of the activity showed that this training successfully improved the participants' understanding and skills in operating and maintaining the machine. This technology transfer has been proven to increase time efficiency and productivity, producing faster and more uniform pineapple slices compared to the manual method. Overall, this PkM has succeeded in empowering the community through practical solutions to post-harvest processing problems, contributing to increased processing efficiency and the potential for economic improvement for partners.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to improve the English pronunciation skills of students at Anharul Ulum Islamic Junior High School, Blitar Regency, particularly in a pesantren-based educational context. Prior to the program, by conducting a pre-test, the students demonstrated moderate to low pronunciation proficiency, characterized by limited accuracy in segmental and suprasegmental features, low fluency, and a lack of confidence in oral production. To address these issues, the program was implemented through three stages: introduction, implementation, and evaluation. During the implementation stage, Interactive Whispering Games were employed as a game-based learning strategy to promote active participation, collaborative learning, and reduced speaking anxiety. The effectiveness of the program was evaluated through pre-test and post-test assessments involving 53 students, complemented by observation and reflective feedback from students and teachers. The results revealed improvements across all assessed pronunciation aspects, with the highest increase observed in fluency, indicating enhanced spontaneity and confidence in oral production. Qualitative findings further showed increased student engagement, motivation, and positive attitudes toward pronunciation practice. Overall, the program demonstrates that Interactive Whispering Games are an effective, low-technology, and contextually appropriate approach for enhancing pronunciation skills in pesantren-based junior high schools and offer a practical model for similar community service initiatives. Abstract

Adolescents are an age group vulnerable to various health problems, both physical and mental, along with the biological and psychosocial changes that occur during their developmental phase. Nutritional status and stress levels are two important aspects that play a role in determining adolescent well-being, however existing evidence regarding the relationship between these two variables remains inconsistent. This community service activity aims to describe the nutritional status and stress levels of adolescents and analyze the relationship between nutritional status and stress levels in adolescents in the school environment. The activity was carried out at SMKN 2 Lembar involving 21 adolescents aged 15–17 years using an observational analytical approach with a cross-sectional design. Data collection was carried out by filling out questionnaires on respondent characteristics and stress levels, as well as anthropometric measurements to determine nutritional status. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately using the Fisher Exact test as an alternative. The results showed that most respondents were 16 years old (42.8%), had good nutritional status (90.5%), and experienced moderate stress (90.5%). The results of the bivariate analysis showed no significant relationship between nutritional status and stress levels in adolescents (p = 0.890). The conclusions of this activity indicate that stress levels in adolescents are not directly related to nutritional status but are likely more influenced by psychosocial factors. Therefore, community service programs in schools need to be implemented holistically, integrating nutrition education and mental health promotion to improve adolescent well-being.

Abstract

Teknologi dan dampak yang ditimbulkan membawa perubahan besar dalam kehidupan masyarakat. Internet sebagai salah satu kemajuan teknologi komunikasi telah menjadi kebutuhan utama dikalangan remaja. Kemudahan mengakses informasi dan dalam berinteraksi sosial karena adanya kemajuan teknologi menimbulkan dampak lain dalam kehidupan para siswa usia sekolah, hal ini terkait dengan kemampuan bersosialisasi dan kemampuan mengelola emosi. Terjadinya pergeseran dari komunikasi luring ke dunia virtual dapat menghambat perkembangan kemampuan bersosialisasi dan komunikasi remaja. Pengabdian Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemahaman remaja usia sekolah mengenai pemanfaatan internet secara sehat dan mengenai Undang-undang Informasi dan Transaksi Elektronik. Pemberian materi mengenai Internet Sehat dan UU ITE diharapkan dapat menjadi pengetahuan baru bagi siswa untuk lebih bijak ketika berselancar di dunia maya. Tidak dapat dipungkiri keterlibatan orang tua dan lingkungan sekolah juga sangat diperlukan untuk menciptakan ekosistem yang mendukung perkembangan remaja secara positif di era digital ini. Akhirnya  kerjasama antara berbagai pihak menjadi kunci dalam membantu remaja beradaptasi dan berkembang secara optimal di tengah pesatnya arus digitalisasi. Pengabdian Masyarakat ini terdiri dari pretes, penyampaian materi dan postest. Diperoleh kenaikan prosentase pemahaman siswa sebelum pemberian materi dan sesudah materi. Tentang Internet Sehat naik prosentasi 60% dan pemahaman tentang UU ITE kenaikan sebesar 85%
