Abstract

This study aims to analyze the challenges and opportunities in leadership transformation at Mulawarman University, East Kalimantan. The research method used was a qualitative approach with interviews and observations as data collection techniques. The results showed that rapid student growth, improving education quality, changes in education technology, and tensions between central policies and local needs were the main challenges in leadership transformation. On the other hand, opportunities arise in the form of improving the university's reputation and partnerships with local government and industry. The interviews also revealed the important role of intellectual leaders in creating positive change in the region. This research provides an in-depth understanding of the complexities of leadership transformation in the context of higher education in East Kalimantan. Recommendations for future research are to involve more universities, apply more extensive qualitative methods, and involve external stakeholders. This study concludes that universities have the potential to play an active role in regional development and create a positive impact through intellectual leadership focused on sustainable change.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the concept of implementing Arabic language learning with school-based management at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Bulukumba. The method used in this research is field research. The results of this research concluded that the concept of implementing Arabic language learning with school-based management at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Bulukumba was implemented through several strategies, namely listening skills (Istima) which were implemented through several activity steps, namely determining Istima' materials according to the theme to be taught, determining concepts relevant to istima. Meanwhile, the reading proficiency strategy (qira'ah) is implemented by the teacher reading Arabic texts well and correctly and also translating them, then students listen carefully. The skills in writing (kitabah) are carried out by the Arabic language study teacher by showing several sentences on the blackboard, then the students read and pay close attention for a few moments. Then the material is removed, then dictated, and students write into notebooks what the teacher dictates. For speaking skills (kalam), the Arabic language study teacher starts by pronouncing new vocabulary (mufrodat) one by one by the language study teacher and then imitates all the students.

Abstract

Improving teacher performance still needs to continue to be improved, considering that there are still many bad records about teacher performance or uneven teacher performance. One way to improve teacher performance is by providing training and development to them. This research aims to find gaps in previous research and reanalyze them so that several research questions are asked, the first is how does training influence teacher performance? secondly, how development affects teacher performance and the last is how training and development influence teacher performance simultaneously. This research uses quantitative research which obtains data from respondents using a questionnaire that has been tested on an instrument with a 1-5 Likert scale. To test the instrument, use data validity and reliability tests. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique uses the classic assumption test (linearity test, normality test, heteroscedasticity test, and multicollinearity test). The regression test used uses multiple linear regression, F-test, and T-test to test the hypothesis in this research. The test results show that training and development have a significant influence on teacher performance, while development also has a significant influence on teacher performance. Simultaneously, teacher performance is influenced by training and development. An important finding is how important the resignation indicator of the development variable has an active role in influencing teacher performance with indicators of planning, implementation, and learning innovation as well as learning evaluation.

Abstract

Education holds a significant role in the progress of a nation and its communities. Inclusive education is a concept that ensures schools can cater to the needs of all children, irrespective of their physical, intellectual, social, emotional, linguistic, or other diverse conditions. Within the realm of learning, teachers assume the roles of facilitators and motivators, entrusting tasks and responsibilities to students themselves and promoting active engagement in learning. The research was undertaken to investigate the implementation of inclusive educational staff management at SD N 131/IV Jambi City, one of the schools championing inclusion in Jambi City. The findings of this educational institution research underscore a commitment to the principles of inclusive education. This commitment is evident through the provision of relevant training, the acknowledgment of contributions, and the provision of compensation to educators. Moreover, the school's emphasis lies more on the abilities and competencies of teachers rather than their specific educational backgrounds. These practices reflect a positive approach toward fostering an inclusive learning environment that caters to the needs of all students.

The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques in this research are interviews, observation, and documentation. The results obtained from this research are 1) the role of school principals in improving teacher performance and school quality, by explaining, organizing, actuating, or controlling. Because it has a tremendous effect on progress and improvements for the institution itself. Teacher performance still has to be improved, it doesn't have to be continuously pushed by the school principal. However, the teacher's duties or rights and obligations have been prepared, as to what steps the teacher must take so that the principal only supervises. 2) school quality, every point of its vision and mission is well implemented. So, the rules for educators and students are all clearly stated. So in the end, the quality of the school can be seen from the institution that produces how many and what graduates enter state and foreign universities.

Abstract

This study is an evaluative study using the CIPP model to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing the School-based Management program at the 1 Sukasada State High School. The subjects involved 70 respondents, including the head of the school, teachers, entrepreneurs, students, and school committees. Data processing is performed in a descriptive quantitative manner with simple statistical analysis and tabulation, following the National Department of Education standards. The results showed a context component score of 2,973, an input of 3,604, a process of 2,892, and a product (output and outcomes) of 2,495. The results of the observations show that the conditions of the community and the potential of the area are very supportive of the development of schools. However, of the 483 alumni, only 230 (46.75%) were traceable, with 27.39% working according to competence and 20.87% continuing education. Low output quality is affected by the efficiency of processes, contexts, and inputs, resulting in low school performance efficiency scores. Thus, the effectiveness of the implementation of School-based Management in the State High School 1 Sukasada was assessed as unsatisfactory. It is recommended that managers improve planning, consider market needs, and improve the effectiveness of implementation and evaluation of School-Based Management programs in the school.

Abstract

Education is one solution to shape Indonesia into a developed country. Through education, quality and competent human resources can be produced. This naturally stems from designing a quality learning curriculum to foster a generation of high-caliber individuals for the nation. This research aims to describe the implementation of the Cambridge International Primary Program, which carries implications for mosque-based learning culture. The research is conducted at MI Al-Akbar Mosque in Surabaya. It employs a descriptive qualitative research methodology utilizing data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and documentation. Six research informants participated, including the madrasa head, curriculum coordinator, Cambridge primary coordinator, regular class teacher, CIP class teacher, and Islamic religious education subject teacher. Data analysis involves collecting, condensing, displaying data, and drawing conclusions/verifying data. The research findings demonstrate that Cambridge Primary was effectively and efficiently implemented under the provisions of the Al-Akbar National Mosque in Surabaya and Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE). Abstract

Entrepreneurship in madrasah educational institutions is a necessity that must be carried out to support quality improvement with independent financing. This research has two main objectives: firstly, how the school principal manages to develop entrepreneurship in his institution, and secondly, how the Madrasah principal organizes the organization and implementation of entrepreneurship. This type of research is quantitative, where the data is obtained through informants. The location of this research is two madrasas in Tulang Bawang Regency. The informants for this research came from both madrasahs, namely the head of the madrasah, the deputy head of the madrasah, the head of administration, and the community around the madrasah. Furthermore, the data used is primary data obtained directly from informants through interviews. Test the validity of the data using data triangulation techniques. Meanwhile, data analysis techniques include the degree of trust, transferability, dependability, and confirmability tests. The findings of this research show that the suitable abilities and knowledge of madrasah heads in entrepreneurship influence planning for future educational development. This is demonstrated in the creation of academic curricula. In MAN 1 and MAN 2 Tulang Bawang, all subjects must include entrepreneurship. Apart from that, the placement that will be responsible must be based on the area of skill.
