Abstract

The objectives of this study are to find out, (1) the teacher's efforts in overcoming the reading difficulties of grade II students of SD Muhammadiyah V Morotai Island, (2) Factors that cause students not to be able to read. This research is qualitative. The result shows that the teacher's efforts in overcoming reading difficulties in the Muhammadiyah V school in Morotai Island are quite good, such as the work of teachers who teach has carried out their duties professionally based on their respective fields, providing additional lessons to students, in the form of tutoring, giving assignments and always repeating every lesson that has been learned. Meanwhile, the supporting factors to overcome reading difficulties include the teacher always supervising every child who is not fluent in reading to improve learning. Inhibiting factors in overcoming reading difficulties sometimes teachers have taught well but the infrastructure is not supportive, then children's interest is lacking in supporting.

Abstract

The type of research used in this study is Classroom Action Research (CAR), with the research subjects being students of class IV-D SD Negeri Unggulan 1 Morotai Island as many as 27 students consisting of 11 boys and 16 girls. The purpose of this study was to improve student learning outcomes through media images in science subjects with the material of the Human Skeleton, Functions and Maintenance. The results of the research in the first cycle, students who completed were 10 people (37%) of the total (27 students), while 17 students (63%) had not succeeded. In cycle II there was an increase in learning outcomes by (44%), so that students who succeeded in cycle II were 22 students (81%) and those who had not succeeded were 5 students (19%). Research on the role of image media in improving student learning outcomes has had a very good impact on students' interest in learning science.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low reading comprehension ability of fifth grade students of SD Muhammadiyah 1 Gothalamo on Indonesian subjects. This is shown by the results of the researcher's observations on November 2, 2020, where most of the students (10 students) had low reading comprehension skills while a small percentage (3 students) were able to do reading comprehension well. This encourages researchers to conduct research, with the aim of being able to answer the problem of reading comprehension in class V SD Muhammadiyah 1 Gothalamo. The type of research used in this research is classroom action research which consists of two cycles, each cycle is carried out in 1 meeting. In order for this classroom action research to be successful, the researcher arranges the stages that are passed in classroom action research, namely: 1) Action Planning, 2) Action Implementation, 3) Observation, 4) Reflection. The subjects of this study were the fifth grade students of SD Muhammadiyah 1 Gothalamo as many as 24 students consisting of 11 boys and 13 girls. The results obtained by using the application of an integrative approach have increased from cycle I to cycle II seen from the classical percentage in cycle I, namely 37.5% and cycle II 83.33%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the use of an integrative approach can improve the reading comprehension skills of fifth grade students of SD Muhammadiyah 1 Gothalamo, South Morotai District, Morotai Island Regency.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out whether the use of science teaching aids could improve the learning outcomes of fifth grade elementary school students at SD Muhammadiyah 6 Pulau Morotai. The type of research used in this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) and will be carried out in 2022. The research subjects are students class V SD Muhammadiyah 6 Morotai Island totaling 11 students. The average value of students in the first cycle was 66.45 and after improvements were made in the second cycle the average value was 83.63. This means that there was a very significant increase in cycle II, namely in cycle I there were only 5 students who passed from the total class V students. However, after improvements were made in cycle II the number of students who passed became 10 students from the total class V students at SD Muhammadiyah 6 Morotai Island, namely 11 students. Thus it can be concluded that science lessons using science teaching aids on the material Properties of Light are very conducive, that is, there is an increase in science learning outcomes if the learning uses science teaching aids in fifth grade students at SD Muhammadiyah 6 Morotai Island.

Abstract

Education is the most important and strategic thing in ensuring the survival of the state, because education is a means to increase human creativity, taste and initiative and form a superior personality. Therefore, education plays a very important and strategic role in the process of improving the quality of Human Resources (HR). Thus, that the State Primary School (SD) Featured 3 Morotai Island Regency is one of the public schools located in Sangowo Induk Village, East Morotai District, Morotai Island Regency. From the results of the study where SD Negeri 3, Morotai Island Regency, already has good facilities. Apart from that, the principal at SD Negeri 3, Pulau Morotai Regency, is also more oriented towards procuring facilities and infrastructure in the school. The relationship between the school and the committee and the community is very harmonious, and the cooperation between the principal and the teachers is very good. The principal also always pays attention to the teachers in carrying out learning actions. Based on the results of the study, the quality of education at SD Negeri 3, Morotai Island Regency, is still in the process of developing and improving the quality of education.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of the principal's leadership on teacher performance and how much influence the principal's leadership had on teacher performance at SD GMIH Bido. This research was conducted at SD GMIH Bido located in North Morotai District, Morotai Island Regency. This research is a quantitative research with its research paradigm describing a causal relationship that is causal so that the independent variable affects the dependent variable or the principal's leadership variable affects teacher performance. The results showed that the t-count significance value was 2.001 which was smaller than the t-table value, which was 2.447, so the principal's leadership variable had no significant effect on teacher performance variables. Then, if you look at the probability value of 0.05, it turns out that the value obtained is 0.092, which is more than the probability, so the principal's leadership variable has no significant effect on the teacher's performance variable. Then, the adjusted R-Square value is 0.06 (6%). This means that the ability of the independent variables in this study affects the dependent variable by 6%, while the rest is explained by variables other than the independent variables in the study.

Abstract

This research was conducted to see if there was a development in speaking skill after applying the debate technique ( British parliamentary system) to the students at Universitas Pasifik Morotai. The researcher was used quantitative research as the method. The samples of the research were 32 students which consist of 1st and 3rd years English The research was used pre-experimental and used one-group pre-test post-test design ; purposive sampling to get the sample. Based on the findings showed that the mean in pre-test were 12.22 and the mean of the post-test were 13.03 it means that debate technique can improve students speaking skill at Universitas Pasifik Morotai.

Abstract

This research that is conducted with aim to increase the students learning outcomes through Creating Problem Solving model on the natural science lesson with the material of “Interdependence among Living Things” to the fifth grade students at Elementary School of GMIH L.O.C, Sub-district of South Morotai, District of Morotai Island. Research type that is used in this research was classroom action research model, which is conducted to the Grade Students at Elementary School of GMIH L.O.C, with the total number of the students were 20 person that is consist of 8 female students and 12 male students, and the teacher who also acted as an observer while conducting research was homeroom teacher. The result in the first cycle shown that 4 students (20%) were successful from the total number 20 students, meanwhile 16 students (80 %) were not successful yet. In the second cycle has increased to 60%, so that students who succeed in the second cycle were 16 students (80%) and 4 students who have not succeeded yet. Learning activity by using Creative Problem Solving model can increase the students learning outcomes on natural science lesson with material of “Interdependence among Living Things”.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the mathematics learning process on the cognitive development of fifth grade students at GMIH Sabatai Baru Elementary School, South Morotai District, and how big the influence is. The research method used is the experimental method (pre-eksperimental design tipe one group pretest posttest) with a quantitative approach. Data collection is done by questionnaires, tests and documentation. The data analysis technique used is a simple linear regression technique with calculations using SPSS 25for Windows. The results of hypothesis testing show that there is a significant effect of the mathematics learning process on the cognitive development of fifth grade students, this is indicated by the Sig. Amounting to 0.11 < 0.05. And the influence of the influence of the mathematics learning process on the cognitive development of fifth grade students is 36.3%. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the influence of the mathematics learning process on the cognitive development of fifth grade students at GMIH Sabatai Baru Elementary School, South Morotai District, has a significant influence.

Abstract

This study discusses the importance of education in the development of a nation and the role of professional educators in achieving national education goals. The main focus of this paper is on supervising school principals as an effort to improve teacher performance and the quality of learning. Supervision of school principals is carried out through supervision, monitoring, and evaluation of teachers in schools. The research was conducted at MTsN 2 Sula Archipelago using a descriptive qualitative research method. Data were collected through interviews, documentation, and observation, and were analyzed using Miles and Huberman's techniques. The results of the study show that the supervision of school principals plays an important role in developing teacher abilities, guiding teachers, and facilitating teachers in improving the learning process. Principal supervision is directed at improving teacher performance and learning outcomes. With effective supervision, it is expected to improve the quality of education in schools.
