Al-Qalam: Jurnal Kajian Islam dan Pendidikan merupakan jurnal peer-reviewed open-access yang didirikan untuk menyebarluaskan pengetahuan mutakhir di bidang kajian islam dan pendidikan islam. Abstract

This research analyzes the strategies used by mosque administrators in developing a mosque studies curriculum to combat the spread of radical Islamic ideology. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Primary data sources are the chairman of the mosque takmir and the head of the Idarah and Imarah section who is responsible for making decisions on mosque management, including the recitation schedule. Secondary sources include mosque congregations involved in mosque activities. Data collection methods include interviews, documentation, and observation. The data analysis process includes data collection, reduction, presentation and drawing conclusions. The study concluded that the main strategy is strict selection of Friday preachers and preachers to prevent the spread of radical views. Mosque administrators also regularly assess the competence of the preacher and reject parties who could cause divisions among the congregation. The current study curriculum is simple, consisting of a preaching schedule and study at books such as Riyadush Shalihin and Adabul Mufrad. However, there is no systematic and comprehensive curriculum structure. Mosque management coordinates with the Ministry of Religion to ensure the quality of preaching and quality of mosque.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays a vital role in shaping students' character and morals in Indonesia. In the digital era, artificial intelligence (AI) emerges as a potential tool to enhance the effectiveness of PAI learning assessments. This study aims to develop AI-based assessments for PAI at MTs Darul Jazil and explore the opportunities and challenges in its implementation. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the research highlights AI's ability to provide objective, rapid data analysis, improving evaluation efficiency, reducing grading time, and delivering personalized feedback. These advantages support a more responsive and adaptive curriculum tailored to individual student needs and evolving educational demands. However, significant challenges include ethical concerns, data privacy issues, technological readiness, and educators' proficiency in AI usage. Addressing these requires targeted teacher training, robust ethical and privacy policies, and investment in reliable technological infrastructure. A comprehensive strategy enables MTs Darul Jazil to leverage AI, enhance education quality, and foster an effective and efficient learning environment.

Abstract

This study explores the development strategy of tahfidz program in Madrasah Diniyah Miftahul Ulum with the aim of increasing community interest in learning the Quran. Religious education plays a crucial role in shaping the character and morals of individuals, but Madrasah Diniyah faces various challenges, such as the high cost of education and the limited number of teachers. The research method used was qualitative with a case study approach, which involved in-depth interviews and documentation analysis to identify factors that influence community interest. The results showed that parental and community support is very influential in motivating children to learn the Quran. The tahfidz program implemented in this madrasah received a positive response from the community, who saw it as an important step in preparing the younger generation for higher religious education. Although there are challenges, such as the low interest of early childhood and the lack of parental support at home, the addition of teaching staff, the provision of tahsin classes, and solid cooperation between teachers, parents and students are expected to increase community participation. This research is expected to contribute significantly to the development of Quran education at the local level and encourage the sustainability of tahfidz programs in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the model of religious moderation within the community of Tolonggeru Hamlet, Bima Regency, in the context of Islamic education. The research employs both quantitative and qualitative approaches, using bibliometric analysis methods with tools such as Publish or Perish and VosViewer to analyze literature trends related to religious moderation in Islamic education. Additionally, the qualitative approach is applied through field observations, in-depth interviews with religious and community leaders, and document analysis to explore the practice of religious moderation in the local community. The results of the study indicate that religious moderation in Tolonggeru Hamlet is realized through a combination of Islamic education principles that prioritize tolerance and respect for diversity and local values that promote harmonious social life, such as mutual cooperation (gotong royong) and interfaith respect. Both formal and non-formal Islamic education play a significant role in shaping a moderate understanding and encouraging interfaith dialogue. The role of religious and community leaders in facilitating open communication and teaching moderation values serves as a key factor in maintaining harmony within a pluralistic society.

Abstract

This research examines the relationship between religion and culture in Indonesian society, focusing on the processes of dialectics and inculturation that enrich both elements and shape social identity. Using a qualitative approach and literature review, the study traces how religion, particularly Islam, integrates with local culture in various traditions such as Ngurisang in Sasak and Rebo Wekasan in Banjarnegara. The analysis, based on Clifford Geertz’s cultural theory, Pierre Bourdieu’s Habitus, and Emile Durkheim’s social solidarity, demonstrates that religion is not only a doctrine but also an ethical foundation and a symbol of culture that strengthens social bonds and collective identity. The research findings reveal that the inculturation of religion into local culture creates social harmony, contributes to religious moderation, and prevents identity conflicts. The study recommends an inclusive approach and cross-cultural dialogue to strengthen social cohesion in Indonesia’s pluralistic society.

Abstract

This research analyzes how demonstrations are viewed by contemporary Muslim intellectuals. The research method is based on a qualitative approach with a literature study basis. Primary references use recent studies with a number of pros and cons that have occurred between the main supporters (Ikhwanul Muslimin) and those who strongly oppose it (Madkhaliyah). Secondary references use indirectly related research. The research findings show that there are 4 characteristics of Muslim-majority countries that need to be differentiated concerning the law of demonstrations: (1) Muslim-majority countries that adopt the principle of shura in their political system. Demonstrations are considered haram because of the principle of obedience to the government as long as it does not involve disobedience to God. (2) Muslim-majority countries that adopt the principle of democracy. Demonstrations are allowed, even recommended or obligatory, as long as they do not aim to annul the government. (3) Occupied Muslim-majority countries. Demonstrations in occupied Muslim-majority countries, such as intifada actions and the like, are considered obligatory. The obligation is not limited to demonstrations but extends to jihad, both defensive and offensive. (4) Demonstrations in non-Muslim countries are considered permissible as long as they do not create problems for the Muslim minority.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out how the talaqqi method is implemented in the Al-Qur'an memorization learning process for students at Wahdah Islamiyah Polewali Al-Qur'an Elementary School and to find out the supporting and inhibiting factors in implementing the talaqqi method in the Al-Qur memorization learning process. 'an student at SD Al-Qur'an Wahdah Islamiyah Polewali. This type of research is a type of qualitative descriptive research, which is a descriptive analysis of data obtained in the form of words, images or behavior and provides an overview of the conditions studied in the form of a narrative description. The implementation of the talaqqi method in schools is going well with the steps for implementing it, namely: the ustadzah explains, then gives an example of the verse to be memorized with clear articulation and mouth movements, then students imitate the ustadzah's reading. Supporting factors include: Islamic elementary schools, appropriate leaders, qualified teachers, collaboration between teachers, understanding and application of Tajwid rules, mastery of methods, as well as students as objects and their readiness to memorize. Inhibiting factors are teacher indiscipline, less than optimal application of methods, lack of teacher concern for student memorization, student difficulty in pronouncing letters, student indiscipline and less conducive space.

Abstract

The phenomenon of concurrent positions when the position as Minister and also occupies the position of a member of a political party shows that there is often a conflict of interest if the Minister's position is affiliated with a political party. This study looks at the relevance of these problems with Al-Ghazali's thinking which in its concept juxtaposes government with the principles of theology, this research is conducted with normative legal research with a philosophical approach. This research shows that the review of Al-Ghazali's constitutional philosophy can be seen as an effort to ensure that a minister can devote his full attention to the moral and ethical responsibilities associated with his government, without being hindered by party political interests. Al-Ghazali regarded the office of minister as a mandate that must be carried out with sincere intentions and responsibility for the welfare of the people. Moral and spiritual principles should be the foundation of policies should be driven by values that can benefit everyone. Ministers who are free from political affiliations will be better able to do their jobs in a way that is fair, objective, and responsible to both the people and God.

Abstract

This paper discusses the intellectual history of Islam in the field of Sufism and its figures. This study uses library research with a qualitative approach. Sufism in the context of science refers to the spiritual dimension in Islamic teachings that focuses on achieving closeness to God through cleansing the soul. Over time, Sufism has experienced developments marked by the emergence of figures in the field of Sufism. Figures in the field of Sufism play an important role in the development of spiritual teachings in Islam, especially in the aspect of getting closer to God. The views of great figures such as Imam Al-Ghazali, Ibn Arabi, and Mulla Sadra in the field of Sufism have their own differences and uniqueness, although they all contributed greatly to the development of Islamic spirituality. Imam Al-Ghazali in his Sufism views on the purification of the heart, ethics, Sufism practices so as to produce harmony between sharia and Sufism. Ibn Arabi on Wahdat al-Wujud, Divine love. Mulla Sadra on the Integration of philosophy and Sufism (Hikmah Muta'aliyah). All three offer unique approaches that enrich the tradition of Sufism, connecting the spiritual dimensions of Islam with intellectual and ethical ones.

Abstract

The teacher centered learning (TCL) learning approach is still one of the common problems often faced in Islamic Religious Education learning including the subject of akidah akhlak. In fact, since the implementation of the 2013 curriculum, the student centered learning (SCL) approach has been echoed but has not been fully realized until the implementation of the merdeka curriculum. Therefore, this study aims to analyze more deeply the application of the SCL approach to learning akidah akhlak which in this case utilizes the use of the mind mapping method in order to create active learning as expected by the merdeka curriculum. This research is a case study research that uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. And the data analysis technique is carried out by data condensation, data presentation, and ending with drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the application of the mind mapping method in the subject of akidah and akhlak applied in MTs Tarbiyatut Tholabah class VIII female is effective in improving understanding, creativity, collaboration and making learning more enjoyable for students. In the regular home class shows a higher level of creativity and in the takhassush class shows aspects of active discussion and deep understanding.
