Nawadeepa: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat, so-called as Jurnal Nawadeepa. manuscripts are published after a thorough peer-review process. The journal publication is maintained by the Pencerah, Meulaboh, West Aceh, Indonesia as the publisher scientific works and innovations in the form of scientific articles. This journal concerned with the practice and processes of community engagement. This journal accepts and publishes scientific articles focused on community service. Jurnal Nawadeepa invites lecturers, students and community service activists to send manuscripts that discuss relevant topics with the focus above. Manuscripts are written using an academic approach or scientific method by presenting data on the impact of community service activities that have been carried out. Jurnal Nawadeepa only considers the original paper for publication. It means that the manuscript has not been published and not considered to be published in another journal. This journal publishes articles 4 issues every year (March, June, September and December). Accepted papers are in Bahasa Indonesia or English. We welcome other language articles, subject to translation cost prior to publication acceptance.

Abstract

Learning Arabic is something that is closely related to students at Islamic Religious Colleges. The reality is that there are several students who are interested in learning Arabic. At IAI Nusantara Ash-Shiddiqiyah for students who have an inclination towards the Arabic language are organized in the MULA (Muhibbul Lughoh Al-Arabiyah) program. The assistance provided by the community service team is focused on learning Arabic in terms of vocabulary mastery and conversation. The method used in this service is Service Learning using (four) 4 stages: planning, implementation, evaluation and improvement. The result of this mentoring is an increase in students' vocabulary and an increase in the ability to communicate using Arabic.

Abstract

This socialization was carried out in one of junior high school namely SMP Negeri 3 Meulaboh. This activity aims to improve and add insight to the younger generation or adolescents regarding the dangers of sexual harassment, drug abuse, and bullying crimes that can occur in today’s school environment. The method used is in the form of presentations related to prevention of sexual harassment, bullying and narcotics. This socialization seeks to prevent the occurrence of bad behavior for the younger generation who are in a period of physical and mental growth and development. The result obtained from this socialization are that students begin to understand the dangers of drugs, sexual harrassment and bullying for the younger generation, and they also begin to know about how to prevent this behavior.

Abstract

This service activity aims to 1) provide participants with an understanding of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, 2) reduce acts of violence committed by parents to children, both physical violence and non-physical violence so that children can grow better, and 3) develop positive character without must be subjected to violence. This community service activity is carried out in three stages, namely pre-test, socialization, and post-test. The success of this community service activity can be measured from two achievements, namely 1) all series of community service activities ran smoothly without hindrance, and 2) the concept material for the Convention on the Rights of the Child can be understood and internalized properly by the purpose of community service. The pre-test and post-test results showed an increase in the participants' knowledge and experience regarding the Convention on the Rights of the Child in preventing violence against children.

Abstract

Political Literacy Education for students at SMA Negeri 25 Banyuasin is an important tool or media to help socialize the importance of political education for the millennial generation. The activities carried out are in the form of outreach about political education, as well as the importance of using digital literacy in obtaining political information for students. This activity is carried out to provide knowledge transfer and is expected to be able to provide enthusiasm for students as first-time voters to participate actively in the upcoming elections and post-conflict local elections. However, the problems faced by Banyuasin 25 Public High School students who already have voting rights include: (1) There are still students who don't care about politics so they tend to be apathetic in the election process. In addition, ignorance of information related to politics and elections causes students to join abstentions; (2) There are students who use their voting rights in selecting candidate pairs based on the amount of money they get (money politics); (4) There are students who do not know how to use social media properly and wisely. The results obtained after socialization include: (1) Many students access social media in the form of Facebook to obtain information about politics, and most of those who use Facebook are female students; and (2) most of the students also get their political knowledge through social media, so it is necessary to have the role of the family and school so that students get correct and reliable information about political education. Therefore, the objectives of this community service activity are: (1) To be able to increase students' understanding of politics, especially in the current digital era; (2) increasing students' interest in political literacy education; (3) Improving student values/norms and character, especially with regard to good and wise use of social media.

Abstract

The production and marketing process of dangkot chicken for all people is the goal of the Student Entrepreneurship Creativity Program (PKM-K) to stimulate students' motivation to start a business in processing the Toraja's signature dangkot chicken. The implementation method of this program includes input, process (production), output, and evaluation. The result of this program is to conduct a market survey to determine the market condition, followed by interviewing five female students in the Universitas Muhammadiyah Palopo environment, and then conducting a feasibility study on the business to be carried out. The last stage is the selection of materials and the provision of places and facilities to support the production process. The production process involves preparing the ingredients and tools until the dangkot is marketed. The output is the ready-to-consume dangkot chicken that is marketed to consumers. The final stage is evaluation, which is conducted after the dangkot chicken production is completed to review any shortcomings that make consumers uncomfortable with our products. In conclusion, the PKM-K program aims to keep the production and marketing process of Toraja's dangkot chicken innovative and creative, provide opportunities for students to practice entrepreneurship with a comprehensive understanding of entrepreneurship concepts, and build students' spirit to continue their business in the food industry, particularly in the Toraja's signature dangkot chicken business.

Abstract

The Innovation of Crispy Tofu Balado Culinary Trend as a Snack Business Opportunity. The purpose of the Student Entrepreneurship Creativity Program (PKM-K) is to motivate students to become entrepreneurs by developing the Crispy Tofu Balado Culinary Trend as a Snack Business Opportunity. Crispy Tofu Balado is very beneficial for health, as it contains a lot of protein and nutrients for the body, minimizes the risk of various diseases, and creates new business opportunities. The implementation method of this program includes input, process (production), output, and evaluation. The result of this program includes conducting market surveys to determine the market conditions, feasibility studies of the business to be run, selection of ingredients and provision of a place, and facilities to support the production process. The production process involves preparing the ingredients and making Crispy Tofu Balado until it is ready to be marketed. The output is the finished Crispy Tofu Balado product that is ready to be used and marketed to consumers. Finally, the evaluation stage is conducted after the production of the product to review any shortcomings that make consumers uncomfortable using our product. In conclusion, the PKM-K program on the Innovation of Crispy Tofu Balado Culinary Trend as a Snack Business Opportunity can provide students with skills to remain innovative and creative in developing the Crispy Tofu Balado Culinary Trend, give students the opportunity to practice entrepreneurship with a comprehensive understanding of the concept of entrepreneurship, and build student motivation to continue in business

Abstract

Innovation in processing waste into an sofa. The objectives and benefits of this PKM-K activity are: Generating student motivation to become an entrepreneur in processing plastic bottle waste into ecobrick sofas that are worth selling.  Sofa is a product that is very economically valuable if it can be utilized properly and optimally. This product can add to the aesthetic value of the living room, can be used as decoration and can be used as room accessories. The methods of implementing this program are input, process (production), output, and evaluation. The results of this program are input, conducting market surveys to find out market conditions. Next is a feasibility study of the business to be run. The last stage is the selection of materials and the provision of places as well as facilities and infrastructure to support the production process. Process (production), the process of making sofa starts from the preparation of materials and tools, until the sofa is ready to be marketed. Output, namely sofa crafts that are ready to be used and marketed to consumers. The last is evaluation, that is, this stage is carried out when the production of the sofa has been completed. At this stage, we will review any deficiencies that make consumers uncomfortable using our products. The conclusion of the PKM-K program the innovation of processing waste into Sofa is expected to increase student creativity in processing waste and entrepreneurship with a comprehensive understanding of the concept of entrepreneurship.

Abstract

In Indonesia, plastic waste is the main source of the build up of garbage in landfill sites. It is also kinds of garbage that pollutes the environment because it is difficult to decompose in natural process. The problems occur in the society now is that they are unable to manage their waste effectively. If the problem is not managed properly, it will bring negative effects for the environment. This community services activity was held in Cot Seumeureng Village, West Aceh. The aim of this community service activity is to increase the society awareness on the importance of protecting and taking care of the environment in order to be clean and healthy and free of plastic waste. The methods used in this activity are the ecobrick management training and recycle it to be household appliances. The result of this activity is the increasing awareness of the society in managing the waste and recycle it using ecobrick and also to support the economy of the society in the area. Therefore, it can be concluded that plastic waste can help the community’s income by the use of plastic waste to be ecobricks and protect the environment from plastic waste.

Abstract

The aim of the Community Service program is to optimize Waroeng Mama Aakif's packaging and branding innovation strategy in order to find a more diverse target market and be able to expand its market reach. The methods to be used in this activity are: observation method, discussion method, lecture method. The stages in implementing this service include the following activities: field surveys, debriefing and association, mentoring, monitoring and evaluation. Activities in the training by providing material regarding innovation strategies for packaging and logos at Waroeng Mama Aakif have a positive impact on developing and marketing their products because they already know the tricks and tips from the speaker's presentation.

Abstract

The bouquet business is an independent small business where the capital for the business comes from personal funds. Which is engaged in the arts because the bouquet is one of the business objects favored by the public because of its aesthetics. The purpose of this research is to find out and analyze the use of social media as a promotion and marketing strategy for Bouquet to many people. The methods used in this activity are: input, process, output (product) and evaluation methods. Our input method first determines students' interests, and looks at some of the products that have been marketed so that they can help us determine prices that are adjusted to the location and economy of students. After that we conduct a feasibility study on the business that we will run, namely by knowing whether this business has long-term business prospects. Process (production), the process of making a bouquet of flowers starting from the preparation of tools and materials until the bouquet is ready to be promoted. Then the output is handicrafts that are ready to be used and marketed via Instagram social media. The last is evaluation, which is the stage where the flower bouquet product has been completed. The conclusion of this journal is that the PKM-K Program provides opportunities for students to practice entrepreneurship and understand very comprehensive entrepreneurial concepts. The PKM-K program builds student enthusiasm to continue doing business with their craft skills. The PKM-K program utilizes social media Instagram as a market palace.
